Ep. 47 What I learned from my running coach
A couple of yeas ago I went to a running coach to help my form and one of the most important things she told me was that I should ONLY focus on my form for 1 out of every 10 minutes I run
because evaluating your form for an entire 45 minute run frikkin sucks, and takes the joy out of it completely.
That constant evaluating is why you're EXHAUSTED at the end of every single day! Not because of the things you're actually doing (though that's enough!!) but because of the constant evaluating of "am I doing this right"
Am I feeding my kids the right foods for dinner?
Am I serving it to them in the right way that the dietitians said wouldn't cause food issues
Am I serving it in a way that won't cause tantrums because I cut their pasta wrong!?
and on and on and on!
Want to learn how to END the constant evaluation of whether you're doing things right so that you can finally have more freedom and fun in your day?
Join my webinar on May 4th where I'm going to teach you my three simple steps to end the mom hustle FOREVER and have more fun without compromising how you show up!

Is it really self awareness or is it heading off a bully
So many of my clients love telling me how self aware they are about their flaws, or parts of themselves they want to change, and I am Calling BULLS@#@
Today we are talking about the difference between self awareness and heading off a bully and why most women do the latter when they think they are "just being self aware"
If you want to go deeper into this work book a call and get on my schedule to find out if coaching is right for you https://armyourselfdietetics.janeapp.com/
Does self trust just mean rainbows and sunshine?
When I talk about self trust a lot of people think it means feeling incredible all the time when it’s literally the opposite.
If I wanted to feel good all the time my life would look WHOLLY different.
The journey to radical self trust often feels hard, and heavy and sometimes makes you think “This is HORRIBLE!”, and sometimes you just don’t want to feel the feels which is why support along the way is so so so important.
Self trust means that even when you have to make a decision that ultimately disappoints your kids, you don’t have to spend hours in mind drama about whether it means youre a horrible mother
Self trust means that when you have a good idea to present at work you don’t need to spend weeks keeping it to yourself because you’re not confident that other people will think it’s that good (until someone else presents it)
Self trust means that you can take the bad with the good knowing that it’s part of the human experience not evidence that you’re supremely screwed up in some way that you need to start working on immediately
Self trust means you get to actually be YOU in every sense of the word, not the “work version” and “mom version” and “Socially acceptable first kids playdate version”
It means sometimes feeling horrible and sometimes feeling incredible but skipping the part where you beat yourself up over or define yourself by either
It means actually getting to excel at what matters most to you without having to focus on what matters to EVERYONE and trying to do all it.
It means freedom, and it’s for you too if you want it

Opinions Detox and Cultivating Safety
So many of us are conditioned to look to outside opinions, consult friends, coworkers etc before making a decision.
In the process we shift safety and trust outside of ourselves and get more and more stuck in the process.
This week I'm sharing how I use an opinions detox and decision making practice to cultivate the true and lasting safety you need to create a life that you love
Stop DOING and start MODELLING
So often the mom guilt we experience comes from our judgement of how much we are doing for our kids. But humans learn through modelling. The next time you feel mom guilt for what you can/can't do for your kids, ask yourself instead "What am I modelling right now and is it in line with my values?".
If you hear yourself saying "If only they knew"
f you are a high achieving woman who hears a compliment and constantly thinks
"If only they knew"
If only they knew how hard it is for me to fall asleep at night with the running list of everything I didn't get done
.
If only they knew how hard I feel like I'm holding on because if one thing slips my entire life is going to unravel
.
If only they knew how exhausted I am all the time trying to keep everyone happy and how lost I feel in the process.
.
I'm willing to bet you have started confusing "BASIC" and "NEEDS" in your head when what you really mean is "PREFERENCES" and "DESIRES"
.
Listen to how different it sounds when you change out "I'm just meeting the basic needs of my family"
to.
"I'm trying to meet every single preference and desire of everyone in my family"
.
Day in and day out you are probably doing the latter, and then absolutely berating yourself because you think you "can't even handle" the former.
.
It needs to stop because there is a better way, and the first step is getting radically honest about the difference between NEEDS and DESIRES.
Listen in to find out how!

Why I hate the saying "Coming back to yourself"
Have you ever heard your grandmother or aunt say that in their 50s/60s they were
"finally coming back to themselves"
"finally doing the things they want"
etc
That's great! But I'm calling bullshit on it, because I am committed to raising a generation of humans who never have to come back to themselves because they never forgot!
If you're committed to raising empowered, intuitive and confident kids you NEED to be inside the room of my MODEL masterclass happening March 23rd.

Coaching yourself through mom guilt
Has mom guilt ever creeped in at the table? I know it has for me!
Today we're talking about how to coaching yourself through mom guilt AND use it as an opportunity to model for your kids how you want them to feel moving through the world.
Peeling back the curtains on one of my favourite trainings!
If you've been sitting in the stress of why WTF won't my kids come to the table? Eat once they are there? Try new foods? The answer is probably..
There's too much pressure in the environment! Even if you think your meals are pressure free you're going to want to tune into this episode and hear some of the sneaky ways you might be adding pressure and sabotaging your table experience.
The reason you don't NEED support might be the reason that you do!
On calls with potential clients and in my DMs on social media I hear all the time that women don't want or feel like they need support when it comes to raising empowered eaters.
But, the truth is that the often the reason you don't feel like you need or want support is ACTUALLY the real reason you need it!
My workshop "Food Labels and Sugar Addicts" is happening February 21st. Register to gain clarity on how to empower your kids around dessert without feeling like the sugar police

Why you need to stop saying "I should have"....
Some of you might know that my Instagram was hacked last week and let's just say it was LESS than fun! If as a mama you've ever had the thought "Ugh, this is totally my fault"! You're not going to want to miss this episode
Talks from a Table
This week we are talking about how to own your own decisions
If you've ever second or triple guessed your decision to give your kids a cupcake and then wondered why they seem sugar obsessed- THIS episode is for you!
We are going to explore what happens when we don't feel totally in alignment with our feeding decisions, how our kids perceive that and respond and how to shift back into what we truly want for our family, not the decisions we think we should be making.
