It's Gonna Be Okay, Baby

By Alex Bollington

Alex misses talking and has a LOT on his mind. Instead of boring his friends to death, he decided to take his talents to Garageband and create this podcast. Episode 19: F(aye webster) & (armer's markets) & (ish) & (rance) & (ashion) & (riendliness)

After getting knocked out by the 2nd vax this weekend, Alex boots and rallies and keeps the alphabet series alive by focusing on a series of people, places, and things that start with the letter F. Despite initially struggling to come up with those words, he finally settles on a few and seemingly goes off for an hour. Sit back, relax, and chomp down on some fudge as you listen to him talk about why he loves Faye Webster so much yet is anxious to attend her concert in the fall, why he is so passionate about farmer's markets and believes they are essential for all cities, why he fucking hates fish, why he has a desire to visit France once travel restrictions ease up, why his fashion sense has evolved over the years, and why he feels like his friendliness can sometimes backfire on him. FUN FUN FUN!

Get yourself an espresso and settle in as you listen to him talk about why he constantly dreams about England and how his life might have been different had he actually grown up there, why he's frustrated with the concept of an annual Earth Day, why Ellie Goulding is the OG pop star, why ESPN led him to believe he could be an amazing sports commentator, and why he wishes he was better at showing enthusiasm when things go well for him. Although Deblasio failed to coordinate a ticker tape parade in honor of Alex's return, things have still gone swimmingly for him. Sit back and relax as Alex takes you through his journey over the last 5 days which has consisted of walking around his new neighborhood for 25 hours a day, decorating his room to perfection and questioning if he should even go to grad school or not.

Good morning to Dua Lipa and Dua Lipa only! Yep you guessed it, it's the D-words episode and oh boy is this one a roller coaster. Settle in as you listen to Alex talk about why depop has become his favorite way to shop for new outfits and get rid of old clothing, why his spring break trip to Denpasar changed his perspective on traveling, why a recent twitch stream made him rethink the role of drugs and how they can help with depression, why he doesn't want his death to occur while sleeping, why he somewhat believes in destiny (but not really), and why he wants to feel more deserving of his achievements. Sounds DELICIOUS right??

Charli XCX once said "I want anthems, late nights, my friends, New York." Don't we allI??????? If you answered no, you're dead to me. Anyways, it's the C-word episode babyyyyyyy. As I'm typing out this description I realized I fucked up and should've talked about things like coachella instead of boring old climate change, but sometimes we can't have it all! Make yourself at home and whip up a chai tea latte as you listen to Alex talk about why he is so infatuated with Charli XCX, why he wants to murder Bill Gates for his recent comments on climate change, why he thinks the coronavirus pandemic has exposed all the bad things about himself, why he almost shit himself on the plane back from Cairns, and why he so desperately wants to overcome his commitment issues. xoxoxox it's charli, baby!

WHATS UP YOUTUBE!!!!!!!!! Sadly it's not your boy Matty Smokes, it's just me Alex, but I'm back with the first episode of a new silly little series where we're going to take a journey down memory lane (aka the alphabet). I suck at recording and coming up with things to talk about so hopefully this project will keep me on a consistent schedule. This ep is dedicated to the letter A and all the amazing words that start with her. I'm sure I could've thought of some better words but who cares baby! Enjoy as I talk about why I sometimes hate my name, why our agricultural systems are a disaster, why I almost died to an alligator, why I miss Australia so much, and why I need to hold myself accountable !!!!!!!

RIP SOPHIE. A star of our generation. I was absolutely gutted to hear the news this morning so I decided to just talk through it along with some other things that have been on my mind recently. This pod is kind of a joke at this point so I'm not gonna write a long caption like I normally would. Stay safe loves xoxoxo

Episode 10: (LaMelo) Ball Is Life

HIT THE DAMN MUSIC!!! After much anticipation, Alex finally decides to reward his listeners with a basketball ep in which he spews his horrendously amateur takes on the 2020-2021 NBA season. Going through each conference starting with the bottom feeders to the cream of the crop, he gives his opinion on how each team has performed to this point, as well as who he thinks will take home some of the awards at the end of the season. Is Alex qualified to talk about basketball for over an hour and a half? Absolutely not! But does he have fun doing so? Yessir and let's just say that Mike Breen would call this ep a BANG-er.

Episode 8: 2020 Year In Review - Climate & Environment Edition

Episode 8: 2020 Year In Review - Climate & Environment Edition

Let down by his embarrassing 2020 Spotify Wrapped, Alex decided to take matters into his own hands and record a yearly recap. However, instead of droning on and on about his love for Phoebe Bridgers' album Punisher, this recap focuses on the shit show that was the environment in 2020. Going month by month, Alex details some of the major environmental related disasters that happened all around the world and in doing so, spends an entire minute trying to say the word meteorological. To avoid giving the listeners further anxiety, the ep ends by highlighting some of the more positive environmental headlines to emerge from this year. Although we're fucked, at least 56% of Americans finally consider climate change to be the top issue we face as a society. That's good, right?

Episode 7: Tattoos Are NOT Just For Big Scary Men

Feeling like shit after a rough week, Alex decides to cheer himself up by reminiscing over the days when he first fell in love with tattoos and how he has since become obsessed with them. Convinced that tattoos are the only thing that can help him salvage his ugliness, Alex goes on to describe the ink he currently has and who he considers to be his tattoo inspirations. Additionally, he highlights some of his fav tattoo artists in NYC/around the world and of course gives his thoughts on common tattoo topics. Which includes the age-old question of should tattoos have meaning? To which Alex says fuck no, grow up!!  Instagram handles for the artists mentioned in today's ep (in order as they appear): @jk.tat | @unotattoonyc | @astrid.elisabeth | @babysfirstcig | @nadiatattooer | @jackpoohvis | @girlknewyork | @bluestonebabe | @wr4th.co | @samy_baby | @_tukoi_ | @cocoloberg | @flameo00 | @nothingwildtattoo | @scratch.pepper

Episode 6: Who the Fuck Is Blake Moynes?

Episode 6: Who the Fuck Is Blake Moynes?

If I were to tell you that in 2020 you'd be listening to Alex spend an hour talking about the bachelorette on his podcast or that you'd find yourself in the middle of a global pandemic ... what would you believe to be more likely? I'm not sure there's a correct answer to that, but either way the recap that you so desperately wanted is here baby! Diving deep into the current season of the bachelorette, Alex gives his thoughts on the remaining 7 guys, who he wants/thinks might win and why he thinks Chasen is most likely a furry. Can this ep be considered a smokeshow? I think so just don't tell the men or they might find it offensive!

Episode 5: Evermore, England, and Endoscopies

Episode 5: Evermore, England, and Endoscopies

After watching one too many Dua Lipa music videos, Alex is #hallucinating (you're welcome future nostalgia stans) and shows up to the pod with lots on his mind. Touching on the relationship with his extended family in the UK, his history with chronic pain and sobriety, and of course Taylor Swift's new album, Alex gives a glimpse into some of the recurring thoughts he has during the holiday season. Does this ep have way too many tangents in it? Yes ma'am! But that's what you get when you sign up for Alex's personal diary disguised as a podcast.

Episode 4: United States Department of Assholes

Episode 4: United States Department of Assholes

It's here, the moment we've all been waiting for. Alex finally records his first environmental ep and gets a chance to explain his bitterness towards the United States Department of Agriculture. Touching briefly on the department's history and responsibilities, Alex also goes on to rant about the significance of appointing a new secretary of agriculture who knows what the fuck their doing. Will Biden make a decision that Alex approves? Who knows! Just remember kids, anti-USDA isn't just a twitter bio, it's a lifestyle.

Episode 3: Skincare, Skirts, and Other S-Words

Skincare, skirts, and other s-words oh my! Despite nobody asking for this, Alex finally reveals the secrets to his skincare routine, talks about his recent infatuation with skirts and goes on a mini rant about social media. Does Alex have what it takes to be on the same level as Hyram or Harry Styles? Absolutely not! But hey at least the boy is trying his best and that's all we can ask for right?

Episode 2: Quarantunes - 15 Artists I Fell In Love With Since March

Episode 1 was a shitshow so we're back and better than ever. After finding out his #2020Wrapped was a complete disaster, Alex decides to redeem himself with some actual good music recommendations. Taking a trip down memory lane, Alex reflects on 15 new artists that he's discovered during quarantine. Does he have good taste? Who knows! Luckily, you get to be the judge of that, just make sure you don't tell him your honest opinion. Artists mentioned include: Maude Latour, Kacy Hill, Magdalena Bay, Jenn Champion, So Below, Valley, Dizzy, Orla Gartland, The Regrettes, Ralph, Bronze Avery, Hatchie, Kitten, Tei Shi, and Grant Claytor :)

Episode 1: Surviving Post-Grad and Feeling Lost

Episode 1 baby, we're live from the big apple (aka my bathroom)! After much anticipation, Alex dives into the world of solo podding without a clue in the world as to what he's doing. This theme rings true throughout the ep as Alex talks at lengths about the concept of feeling lost after graduating from university. Does he know where he's headed? No! Does he have any sound advice to give to himself? Not really! But it's fine because hey alexa play it's gonna be okay, baby by MUNA.
