God is Giving You Permission to Rest
Today we chat about the importance of resting in God's sovereignty and trusting in His provision, particularly focusing on how rest is connected to trust. I get vulnerable about recent experiences that pushed me to take notice of how physical, emotional, and spiritual rest caused me to cease from striving and find peace in God's love and faithfulness.

EP007: Sis Write The Book
"Sis, Write The Book?!: Unlocking emotional and spiritual roadblocks that keep you from writing your book." I believe that one of the biggest emotional and spiritual roadblocks that happen to people who want to write books, especially women, is perfectionist behavior.
1. Stop judging what you write, get into a flow, and just start writing.
2. Always remember your perfect target customer. You are writing to person, not to "them"
3. Research the type of editor that you want. Copy Editor and line editors are not the same
4. Always plan your celebration for when the book is going to be done
EP006: Why People Never See Their Part in Making You Angry
Well hey, you Welcome to Life With Lex hosted by yours truly Alexis M. Lott. Also known online as @alexismcreative and on today's episode, listen, we are talking about a juicy one that I got in from an audience member. I'm answering the question, Why do people only see how you respond, not what they did to make you angry?
EP005: How Not to Get Trapped by Trauma
This episode unpacks how relational trauma can really leave a woman broken for several seasons of her life, not just the season when it happened. It’s important to heal so that you don’t stop growing at the age you were wounded. I provide practical tips for living in the "and" where two things can be true about you at once and how to not let trauma from the past trap you into seeing life in extremes.
EP004: What's Love Got to Do With It?
On today's episode, we are talking about Olympic hopeful, Sha'Carri Richardson and some of the conversation that has just been stirred on social media about this and how it has really led me to want to have a conversation with you about knowing what it is to love well, and how not to live in extremes, meaning holding people accountable for the things that they do wrong, while also choosing to extend grace and see a person is not the totality of their mistakes.
Ep003: Is Sickle Cell Disease All There is to My Life and Purpose?
You are doing Life with Lex. Welcome to the podcast. And on today's episode, I am continuing our conversation all about how not to allow pain to shape your identity. You are not the most painful thing you have gone through stop allowing pain to shape your identity. And on today's episode, I'm actually opening up about a very painful area in my life and that is having sickle cell disease, and how I have to fight every single day for sickle cell disease not to be the totality of who I am.
EP002: There is More to You Than What You've Been Through
Listen On today's episode, I am talking all about how to snatch back your identity from pain. But before we get into all of that, I want to tell you a little bit about myself and my story. So in 2010, I decided to give my life to Christ after the year before being miraculously stopped from a suicide attempt by a phone call from my grandmother. And from there, you know, I decided that God was real. And of course, I had always known but I decided at that point to submit and then I went through the next 11 years of my life on a healing process from trauma. And now my purpose in life is to help lead women into their purpose and out of trauma over at www.thecherishedwoman.com. And then my other thing that I love to do, how I pay the bills every month and so forth, is I am a brand strategist for authors, faith leaders, and coaches. It's so you can find me over at www.alexismlott.com. For more information there, and it's my job to help the everyday solo business owners connect well with our audience on line.
EP001: Reframing Failure | Live Life Coaching Session
You are now listening to the podcast Life with Lex hosted by yours truly, Alexis M. Lott also known online in the creative space as Alexis M Creative. And listen on today's episode we are doing one of my favorite things. I am taking a coaching client, a life coaching client live on air, letting you hear all the things that I have to say to her and helping her get through a very, very tough season in her life where failure has framed her forward progress. And so on today's episode, we are kind of talking a little bit about failure and how it has the ability to just stop you in your tracks and reframing failure.
But before we get into all of that, I want to tell you a little bit about myself my story. In 2010, I decided to give my life to Christ after the year before being miraculously stopped from a suicide attempt by my grandmother. And from there, I decided that God was real thing. You know, I always kind of knew that. But I decided that I wanted to make sure that I knew that I knew if you know what I mean. And so I have spent the last 11 years of my life dedicated to my healing process from trauma. And my purpose now is to lead women and men into their purpose and out of trauma. So I'm over at the www.thecherishedwoman.com. And then of course, you can find my other heart passion, which is branding for men and women of faith authors and business coaches. So you can find that at www.alexismlott.com. And it is my job there to help the everyday business owner connect well with their market online.
When my White Teacher Repented for her Racism
On this episode of Story Time With Alexis, I recall a story of how in 2006 my AP U.S History Teacher publically repented and wept for her racisms. This conversation of course is happening on the heels of George Floyd Murder, May 2020.
God Cannot Order Steps That You Refuse To Take
Are you ready to unpack the conversation as to why you keep giving up on yourself and your God-given ideas? I believe this is a season where where we are being almost like arrows inside of an arch, we're being pulled back in order to be sprung forward. And so because of that, I think that is it's high time for us, as we're about to start coming out of this quarantine season to really examine why is it when I get a really great idea, why do I stop moving forward?
Woman of God You Are Not an Imposter Part 3
I’d like to tell you a story. It’s about WHY I do what I do, and why I’d like to help YOU silence the voice of the imposter roaming in your heart and launch a profitable business.
I spent about 4-5 years helping ministers, churches, and individuals who wanted to build personal brands online. I would build these gorgeous websites for them, only to realize that they weren't getting very much traction. That's when it dawned on me there was a disconnect between what people think is branding versus what branding actually is.

Your brand is what people say about you when you walk out of the room. It is a combination of how you communicate your voice, visuals, and value. It's the "thing" that makes people buy, and often this thing is intangible.
Then I saw another issue- many of the women who wanted me to help them grow with branding, were trapped not starting yet because they didn't have it "all together."
I remembered deeply what it was like to be that woman, because I am her. It wasn't until I took a leap of faith with God in 2018 and silenced my imposter voices to launch 2020 Vision workshops, that I saw real change.

The Grace to Confront
Truly, we can’t "It is well" everything we face in life. Catchy amazing song, but not the truth of how we should conclude every hard place we find ourselves in.
Some things just don't sit well with you, because they require justice, truth and reconciliation from all parties involved. There is a grace provided for confrontation, so that it can lead to peace.
David understood this deeply, so in times of battle he asked God what to do first. Should I pursue?
The beautiful thing about God's response, is that he always tells the outcome when we ask. Yes, pursue and you shall surely recover all. [1 Samuel 30:8]
When you consult God, you get to know ahead a time if your efforts will be worth it. And our emotions are what lead us to places of prayer, so that we can get the answers we need.
God Wants You to Stop Doing This!
This is THE most important revelation I gained from the 2009-2019 decade.
Here me out:
Trials and adversity are the way we grow. But just because you went through it and survived it, and maybe even can see how God worked it out for your good, doesn’t mean you still don’t need help unpacking it.
Today’s thoughts: God wants you to stop living in “survival mode.”I truly believe that this was the greatest take away for the decade for me is realizing that you can go through adversity wrong.
Adversity truly is the way we grow, there is just no way. Trials and adversity are the only ways that we grow. This is a fact of life we don't get a choice in.I'm sure at the end of this year you looked over many of the lows and highs of not just the year but the decade, and realized there were many trials that God brought you over.
As I was sitting with Holy Spirit today, He whispered to me that just because adversity is the way we grow, doesn't mean that we don't have right to unpack how those trials have impacted us.
Even if you can clearly see how God used that place of adversity to shape you, doesn't mean you can't seek outside help to help you unpack all of what happened.
God doesn't want to withhold any good thing from you - not this year, not ever.
Take time to talk with God himself, a therapist, or trusted friend to make sure you are coming out of these trials whole, and not a shell of yourself. You don't have to live in survival mode, happy that you just "made it."
This is the decade to live whole my friend. This is the Story Time With Alexis Blog! If this is your first time hearing about me I am a visionary, entrepreneur, and minister.
If you don’t know my story in 2009 I was miraculously saved from a suicide attempt, i fully dedicated my life to Christ in 2010 and now even with managing sickle cell disease, my why is to help people live seen and loved so that they can fully experience the wealth of life.
I run a business that is thriving the Alexis M. Creative Agency where I help people become clear and confident when selling their service based business products, even if they don’t know who their audience is, even if they struggle with social media, and even if their time is limited.
I also run the amazing ministry The Cherished Woman where I help women champion their emotional freedom and unlock their purpose.
