About our guest:

Rebecca Grossman is an assistant professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Hofstra University. She teaches courses such as Research Methods, Teams, and an Internship seminar. Her research primarily focuses on Teams (team processes and emergent states, team diversity, measurement of team constructs), training (individual and team training, transfer of training, instructional features), and complex settings (multi-cultural, virtual, and/or distributed teams, extreme and/or high-risk environments, multi-level and multi-team systems). Dr. Grossman is also the Internship Director at Hofstra University.

In this weeks all-nighter, I'm joined by Dr. Jared Weintraub as we discuss the state of flow in the workplace, his journey through the PhD program, and his ties with METRO (New York Metropolitan Association of Applied Psychology). 

About our guest: 

Jared Weintraub is the founder of The Flow Group, LLC., an organizational and business development firm that works with individuals and companies to create and maintain happy, healthy, and productive workplaces. Jared holds a Ph.D. from Hofstra University, a Master’s degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and a certification as a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR). He has worked with start-ups, Fortune 500 companies, and organizations across various industries, providing internal and external consulting, coaching, and managing marketing and sales teams. He recently received his Ph.D. in Applied Organizational Psychology from Hofstra University, where he researched Flow Theory - how, when, and why individuals, teams, and organizations can get into “the Zone.” Most recently, this research has explored how we can use technology-based solutions to "nudge" behavior change in order to develop key competencies for flourishing at work. His over ten years of experience include: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, designing and implementing training programs, employee engagement, performance management, needs assessment, employment law compliance, administration of benefits, etc.

About our guest:

Dr. Salter is currently an Assistant Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Hofstra University. He teaches courses such as Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace and Performance Management. He is the director of the Workplace, Inclusion, Leadership, and Diversity (WILD) research lab and advises students on their dissertations and other research projects. Dr. Salter is the recruitment and onboarding coordinator for the Delta Lambda Phi Social Fraternity and a monthly contributor to the Lead Read Today blog.

She has over 30 years of experience teaching, conducting research, and supervising students as well as providing organizational consulting in the areas of leadership development, employee selection and recruitment, customer satisfaction, outcomes assessment and evaluation.

Ari Hymowitz is a 2nd-year MA student and the president of IOPSA, the I/O student association at Hofstra University. He currently works at E. Rogers Associates as an Associate Management Consultant. He also participates in the WILD Research Lab where he conducts research on Workplace Inclusion, Leadership, and Diversity.
