Have you been pressured now? How did you feel, yes as you think about it! Yes, everyone has peers. Peers can be your friends who are about your age and have similar interests and experiences. Peers can also be other kids who are about your age and are involved in the same activities as you or are part of a community or group you belong to. Episode 01: Child Negligence
Child neglect is a form of abuse,[1] an egregious behavior of caregivers (e.g., parents) that results in a deprivation of children of their basic needs, including the failure to provide adequate supervision, health care, clothing, or housing, as well as other physical, emotional, social, educational, and safety needs.[2] All societies have established that there are necessary behaviors a caregiver must provide in order for a child to develop physically, socially, and emotionally. Causes of neglect may result from several parenting problems including mental disorders, unplanned pregnancy, substance abuse, unemployment, over-employment, domestic violence, and, in special cases, poverty. I am your host Vicky Imoya and in this podcast series, I shall be bringing stories from victims of child neglect as they share with us what happened to them.
