The move, and the end
and we're out of here.
The show goes on
Ramadan, Mother's Day, and yet another murder of an unarmed Black man. It's not so much that the show must go on, but more so that we are resigned to it as it does. Music recorded during a live Ramadan iftar on Zoom during a performance by Faraj Abyad.
The Drag
In a funk. Gotta breakout. How you holdin up?
Play the news
This one plays like a news reel
Normalcy is setting in
Wait...this is what we've always done, right?
Quarantined Apartment Hunt
It's a pandemic out there. But we need a place to live.
The Weekend
Virtual hangs on Zoom and Google Hangouts abound as a temporary escape plan is hatched. Conclusions are reached on anxiety and personal trauma.
Times Square
The day begins with a view of the skyline and questions about how empty the streets below the skyscrapers must be. The day closes with a visit to Times Square.
The Stimulus Bill
The day is spent sitting on the edge of an uncomfortable wooden stool, seeking to pull everything in the stimulus bill into a two-page summary for work.
To the liquor store
A quick trip to the liquor store includes observations about increased drinking during quarantine and a conversation with the store clerk about business.
Day 1 - General thoughts and reflection
Day 1 of the Corona Logs. The hope is shared that the audio journal results in better sleep. General thoughts are expressed on anxiety, confusion, and disorientation. Personal reflection is offered on experiencing the crisis after just moving to New York City, starting a new job, and being separated from my wife who's still in Washington, DC...all while unexpectedly finding myself moving back into the same room in Queens that I briefly inhabited in 2012.
Let's see if I sleep a bit better tonight
