International Outdoor Adventure Education Spring Break Trip to Costa Rica with Ms. Alessandra Conte

In this episode of the podcast, I interviewed Alessandra Conte, a graduate student in Monmouth University’s Anthropology M.A. degree program and the 2021-2022 graduate assistant for the Institute for Global Understanding. Ms. Conte shares her experiences traveling to Costa Rica for spring break 2021 through the Global Seminar Program offered at Monmouth University. In our discussion, Ms. Conte reflects on the highlights of the trip, including bungee jumping. Additionally, she shares the cultural components of the Costa Rican way of life that resonate with her. At the end of the interview, Ms. Conte describes the ways that this trip shifted her perspective on the importance of human relationships through a cross cultural lens. Fulbright Scholar Program I Dr. Priscilla C. Gac-Artigas & Dr. Nataliia Gusak

In this episode, I first interviewed Dr. Priscilla C. Gac-Artigas, who is a professor in the Department of World Languages and Cultures at Monmouth University and is also a Fulbright Scholar who completed her fellowship in Chile in 2014. Next, I interviewed Dr. Nataliia Gusak, who is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Ukraine and also recently completed a Fulbright Scholar fellowship in Detroit, Michigan at Wayne State University’s School of Social Work. Animal Protections Across Borders I Ms. Marcia Condoy Truyenque & Dr. Rajesh Reddy

In this episode of the podcast, I interviewed Dr. Rajesh Reddy, who is the Director of the Global Animal Law and Animal Law Advanced Degree Program at Lewis & Clark Law School, and Ms. Marcia Condoy Truyenque, an LL.M. student studying Animal Law at the Lewis & Clark Law School during the 2021-2022 academic year. Ms. Condoy is also a Peruvian animal lawyer. Both guest speakers engaged in discussion on animal protections across borders and provided the audience with insight into the progression of the Convention on Animal Protection (CAP) Treaty. The CAP Treaty seeks to establish a global commitment to enforce a set of animal welfare and environmental protection standards within all nations. In this episode, I interviewed Dr. Saliba Sarsar, who is a professor in the Department of Political Science and Sociology at Monmouth University and also an author, scholar, and poet.
