Met Gala's Missed Opportunity

Met Gala's Missed Opportunity

It's been all over social media, the Met Gala. The theme this year was The Garden of Time which Vogue described as a “celebration of clothing and fashion so fragile that it can’t ever be worn again.” But barely any of the fashion choices were sustainable or took the time to consider how fragile our planet is.

S3 Ep2: Jared Briggs: Founder, Leader, Fucking Rabble Rouser of Cult + King

This is an especially exciting episode you will want to stay til the end for a BIG announcement which was a complete surprise to Maya and Anneke during this recording. On this episode, we interview Jared Briggs whose official title is “Founder, Leader, Fucking Rabble Rouser”. Jared Briggs is the founder of the hair product company, Cult + King. Cult + King isn’t just a hair product company though, they do everything from providing one of a kind products that are not just safe for the consumer but also for your stylists.

Cult + King has beautiful glass packaging and will give you refills for your orders so you can be environmentally conscious. Their products are free from the toxic chemicals that not only can ruin your hair but also your health. They support environmental movements and offer opportunities for stylists to come learn about various environmental, social justice, and important issues in the world so they can become activists in their own way. Our guest on this episode is journalist and now author, Justin Nobel. Justin has written on topics ranging from science to investigative journalism on the fossil fuel industry and not only its harmful effects on the environment but on the people who work in the industry. Justin has written for Rolling Stone, DeSmog, National Geographic, Newsweek, and more. Justin has now authored his powerful book Petroleum-238: Big Oil’s Dangerous Secret and the Grassroots Fight to Stop It, encompassing his seven year investigation into how the oil and gas industry has created a radioactive public health crisis and has deceived its workers who now suffer from a parade of horrible health issues and unexplainable cancers.

Justin’s book will be released April 24, 2024 and can pre-order the book at:
