Season 3 Bonus: All Last Words. There's a Reason The Comments are Below The Content
Thank you. Thank you to Becca, Aaron, Josh, Paul, Simone, Rob, Josh, Dane, Adam, Ed, Harrison, and Cisco. Thank you for listening. Thank you for getting this podcast to 3,000 listens as that was my goal in putting together these 12 Days of Podcasts. Thank you for allowing us to stray from the form at times with Simone and our Game Show with Josh and Rob. I copied last season's description to make this one and it says "it made me excited for Season 3 which I am all but confirming production for next year," I snuck in a tight 12 episode season right before the end of the year, but I did it and you helped! Last, but not least, thank you to Ernie who was brought on as a production assistant and marketing/sponsorship coordinator. You did nothing but sleep for this podcast, yet I will still keep you on as you provide the best support anyone could ask for.
Episode 51: Cisco From Work. Technically Speaking.
Power up! Episode 51 is out of office and on a podcast. My man Cisco from work (who I've never actually met) sits down with us to talk tech, answer some weak questions about beer, get kinda deep and play a game of New York Bar or Song By International Canadian Pop Star.

Episode 36: Seth From School
Hello Sir! Seth graces us with his calm, unbiased presence on Episode 36, as we jump back in to wrapping up Season 2. When I first met Seth, he was working on a news package that included him eating a waffle on camera. Since then, I have learned there's way more to him than that. Seth appreciates nature, being creative, and trying to minimize technology use. We talk about all of those things and more including Dave Matthews Band, people who litter, and Seth's middle school sneaker flex.
Here is the 90's video Seth created for the NJ Devils, which is a hockey team apparently. We refer to it a few times in this episode:

Episode 34: Amen and Awomen (Taigen Has Risen)
ON GOD! Episode 34 is one of those special episodes that is a little different. No regular ALW format for this one, because it all just questions about God, Jesus, the Lord, Yahweh, Adonai, Morgan Freeman, etc. Taigen is very much a woman of faith, so me, a man of thin faith had a lot of questions. I asked most of them. We cover Hell, all kinds of Bible jazz, when Jesus is expected to return and God knows what else.
To avoid political conversation, Taigen and I held ourselves accountable by taking a chance on Bamboozled jelly beans if one of us goes political. One of us believes in God, the other is not convinced quite yet. So, which one of us got barf and which got coconut? Hmmmm....
Note: Apologies for the slight hum in the audio, I would tell you it was an audio oversight on my part, but I'd rather tell you it was God's presence in the conversation. Enjoy...

Episode 33: Dan from School
Alright Dan! It is only fitting that Episode 33, our Bynum episode if you will, features my ol' chum Dan. Celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the first ever Koody Sports Show hitting the WHIP airwaves in 2011, we have decided to reunite and bring you a conversation a little longer, a little more relaxed since neither of us have to jet off to class or endure the intense pressures of finding a job out of college. Dan has lived in Nebraska, Wisconsin, New York, Kentucky, and now he's back in Philly. We talk about Batman, some fun Nebraska times, comedy, mental health, reaching fitness goals, and Weird Al for some reason.

He comes from an immigrant background, works in the media, and is just one of those guys who is and always will be a good friend. We talk about the transition of power happening, "the media", desserts, the Eagles, and how losing weight helps in other facets of life.

Episode 31: Kev from School (Capitol Attack)
We The People? Episode 31 takes us to a very frightening place as friend of mine and guest of the show, Kev, recounts his experience from Wednesday, January 6, 2021 as a member of the media during the attack on the Capitol. Kevin gives us a detailed version of what happened, what he saw, and heard, and how the last four years have been for a media member working in D.C., during everything that has festered up since 2016. We also talk about Kev's cross country experience that flipped his political view, Mallomars, and a song that has a smell. Also, Kev loves trains.

Episode 30: Giving Simone My Word
Be right back! In this midseason finale that is Episode 30, we have an extension of Episode 29 where our Episode 29 guest, Simone, gets a chance to ask me whatever she wants.
We talk about so much including happiness, future goals/plans, marriage, vaccines, and Simone is really nice about me declining to answer one of her questions. Happy New Year, Wordsmiths!
Note: I have rid the podcast of the opening and closing intro recordings if you were wondering where those went. It is more organic to just put up the full conversation from start to beginning than force you to listen to me longer than you'd have to.

Episode 28: Leela from Israel
Sababa! Episode 28 takes us international! Leela brings all her loveliness to the pod. I met Leela in Israel in 2015 when I went on Birthright, she was one of the Israelis that was introduced to our group, and 10 days including one night in a bedouin tent full of dark dark dark jokes, later...here we are like we never left. Leela shares a couple of those jokes, talks about Israel, shames non-vegans and Becca, plays the ukulele, sings, and is just overall pretty entertaining. Leela takes a good amount of time to share a story of her year including some family hardships as well.
Here is the young lady Leela raves about: https://www.instagram.com/noalle31/

Are you ready for some hand egg!? On Episode 27, we return the the west coast for my friend Kevin. Kevin was a student at Temple after I graduated and was my intern for a semester while I worked in Philly. Kevin is from Germany (where not everyone is Nazis), he loves soccer/football, and city planning as I learned. We talk about the LA bubble, grape flavored candy, and how to improve the air travel experience. Kevin is a video editor in LA and you can find some of the stuff he's worked on below in this description.

Lauren entered my life in college when she and my brother fell for each other over their love of pizza, ice cream, and raising a future child obsessed with a show about a talking waste gathering vehicle. Lauren contracted COVID-19 in March when it was first getting bad, she has also been working her normal job as a nurse during these crazy times. We talk about COVID, what is accurate, what is not, how it has been handled, how it should be handled, but also interior seasonal decorations, classic rap tunes, and Bath and Body works scents.

Episode 24: Lee from Home
Law and Order! Lee is my guest for Episode 24! Lee is probably the most politically engaged person I know since high school. When I was wearing shirts that said "I Put Ketchup on My Ketchup", Lee was probably watching C-SPAN and reading bill proposals. Lee is a lawyer in Philadelphia now and touches quite a bit on what laws are defending our country from being a shattered democracy during this presidential transition. We also talk about mattresses, sneezing, past presidents, and cheesesteaks.

Episode 23: Ryan from School
You already know! Ryan is on our side for Episode 23. Ryan has been newsing all up the northeast for quite some time know and lends that knowledge and experience to quite a bit of our chats during this episode. We talk about respect for journalists, Pinocchio, the Electoral College, and Super Bowls. Ryan keeps you on your toes because you think he's going to come in with strong, well thought out, researched opinions that you'll agree with, and instead it's information that might make you change your mind about what you think you know. Episode 22: Taigen from Work
Do unto others! Episode 22 just in time for the election. Oh aren't we all feeling great!? My guest is my friend Taigen who did a great of not strangling me during a) our entire friendship and b) during this two hour interview. Taigen is from a small town in Pennsylvania, but spent a good amount of her adult life in NYC. She has a twin, a big family, and a new baby (omg aw). We talk about the media, vampires, and Jesus quite a bit. I don't know if you will find another conversation out there with two 30 something people who couldn't disagree more on most political issues, but are very simpatico on most all other aspects of life. It makes for an informed discussion founded on respect knowing whatever one of us says, it's all love in the end.

He has a good idea of the kind of people that make up the population of this country and some great stories as well. We talk about the current political situation as well as late people, being punched in the face, what makes Josh cry, and so much more!

Season 1 Bonus: All Last Words
Thank you for listening. The idea for All Last Words was a no brainer after all the smart, kind, important, and consistent things all of my guests said over these last five months. This was so much fun to edit. Stay tuned for Season Two. And please vote.
Season 1 Bonus: Robs10KFriends
Thank you for being a friend! Here's a little Season 1 Bonus for you because I care about you and I miss you. On this episode, we talk to Rob Lawless (aka Robs10KFriends).
Check Rob out on IG: https://www.instagram.com/robs10kfriends/
And his website for more on his story and how to support him: https://www.robs10kfriends.com/
We talk about people mostly on the episode. Ourselves to a fair degree, so you hear me talk about my background a little if you weren't familiar, and we learn about Rob's project from being on Kelly Clarkson's show to adding an adult film star to his list of friends. Really fun times. I hope you listen and learn!

Episode 19: Cale from Birth
You gonna learn today! Episode 19 has been 19 episodes in the making. Since the spawn of the podcast, it has been my intention to have my brother on to talk about whatever felt right.
This conversation helped me learn a lot about life as well as learn more about my brother. We talk about personal development and growth, self awareness, overcoming what you perceive to be hurdles, and who should be president.
My brother is doing way more than being an inspirational person to listen to. He has his own podcast as well where he discusses the real life stories taking place with athletes as they create the mindset of evolving as a person around their athletic persona and lifestyle: https://anchor.fm/athleteevolved/
And he is embarking on teaching a new class at Neumann University called "Embrace the Mamba Mentality" on the work that Kobe Bryant put in to build and develop his mentality to become who he was and how it can relate to anything in life:

Episode 18: Dad from Birth
My dad and I are very close, and this conversation, if anything, brought us closer. We talk about sports, cars, his other jobs outside of being an attorney, as well as the uniqueness of my brother's and my upbringing.
I say this in the intro, but I'll put it here too: go have a one hour conversation with one of (or both, if you're lucky) parents. Throw your phones aside for an hour and just talk. Take my format or don't, it will be a nice hour spent, you'll learn a lot and your parents will enjoy learning a lot about who they helped you to be. Unless you suck, then I'm sorry. Can't help you. Maybe buy them dessert if you feel like you'll disappoint them. That would work for me.

Episode 17: Jerry from Interning
Rolling! Episode 17 welcomes my friend Jerry who was a real live adult working full time in TV sports when I was interning in college. Jerry was one of a few people who were very helpful in dipping my toe into the waters of working in TV news.
Jerry has worked in sports television in some facet for over 25 years which makes for some great stories that we hear on the podcast. He is now lending the knowledge his experience brought him to students by teaching media.
We talk about the Chiefs, Dave Chappelle, how we got to where we are in politics, and Jerry has a bit of a twist on having last words.

Let's get ready for a civil discussion regarding pop music personalities! We are turning things up a notch for Episode 16 by doubling up on guests. We've got Meg and Colleen from school. We have been bickering about Beliebers vs. Swifties since the teardrops dried off that one less lonely girl's guitar or whatever.
We talk about Taylor....why can't she be happy? Or is she? Or who knows? Or should we care? And Scooter. Oh we get to Scooter. We also talk about #FreeBritney, Millennials, reclining your airplane seat, and some unfortunate dining experiences

Kristen and I continue the narratives we've had on past episodes about more justice and equity for the black community. We also talk about her student-athlete experience, her professional basketball career overseas, youth and giving back, and her experience as one of the rare acquaintances to attend a Justin Bieber concert with me.

Episode 14: Grace from Work
Grace and I discuss the current climate of civil uprise and how we can learn about ourselves as well as through others. We also talk about how people really need to chill and listen more than they speak on both sides. Grace comes from a military family. She has moved around her whole life and has a good sense of a lot of what this country is like and what it was created to stand for. Apart from all that jazz, we discuss The Bachelor, laundry (again!?!), her father, and The Boy Who Lived.

Episode 13: Matt from Mutchies
It starts internally. Matt is my guest in Episode 13. I know Matt through a mutual friend (Kevin, his cousin) hence "Mutchies" in the title. Glad I could clear that up.
Matt has been wanting to be on the pod since early on, but the schedule allowed him to come on during the timing of the Black Lives Matter movement which he wanted to take time to discuss. Matt is biracial and gives some very pointed, very important insight into his experience for those of us who may not know what it is like. In addition to that, we discuss laundry, our generation, shopping carts, things that are more expensive than they should be, and more.

We discuss the Beatles, comedy, the wacky world of politics, and confess our unabashed love for Miss Carly Rae Jepsen, God's gift to pop music.
Dane has a podcast of his own that has possibly the second best theme song of all Anchor.fm podcasts. It is called Chorus vs. Chorus, so check that out here: https://anchor.fm/chorus-vs-chorus

She works in music and constantly surrounds herself with music of all types. This episode is a little different because 95% of it is centered around music. From lyrics to albums to karaoke, we dive deep into music and how Michelle's unique taste and knowledge came to be and continues to be!

Eric has made himself a career in health and fitness, but makes it a point to explore the brain and mindful actions behind why we do what we do and what works for who. This is one of the both funniest and deepest conversations I've had on ALW yet. We talk about sports, food, the brain, health, and love. AND THAT'S FINE!

Episode 8: Dave from TV
And we're live! My guest for Episode 8 is Dave, who I met because we were really working towards similar careers. Dave was at La Salle while I was at Temple, and we kind of just met through covering sports or events in the city. Dave worked on TV in Philly and Raleigh, NC, and grew up with the Mummers in his family, Dave and I chat about social media, politics, ,we pull down the curtain for some of the media/TV world, and kind of talk a little bit of a lot of Philly.

Episode 7: April from Work
Back to the west coast! My guest for Episode 7 is April, who worked with me before being promoted across the country. Luckily, we still work together and see each other a good amount! April is one of those people who is always positive, but can still get serious, cut through the BS and get the job done. Which is why she is a good friend! Along this episode we talk about my intolerance for vegetables, the 1981 movie Caveman (as you do), and get April to face her fear of clowns by explaining the to an alien.

Episode 6: Kyle from School
Feesh! My guest for Episode 6 is Kyle, a friend of mine from college. Kyle and I met through TV and did some radio together as well, so audio entertainment comes pretty naturally. Kyle is a big wrestling fan, sports fan, semi-famous stadium vendor, and a father. During our two hour talk, we touch on wrestling, Philly sports fans, and introduce a new segment called Pop Quiz!
Here is some very 2010 quality cell phone video of that infamous incident with Kyle as the "hot dog man": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXDSvj3poY8
Kyle has a podcast of his own with some other folks. It is called Beards of Tech, so check that out here: https://www.beardsoftech.com/
