Steve Vargas from Taker Wide Podcast, and Derek Prince-Cox from The Wok Show sat down with us for their second round. We were definitely expecting an awesome conversation with these two, but what we didn't expect was how good of friends they are. They have admiration for their past, present, and future pursuits in life, as well as a camaraderie that can only be strengthened with time. Oh, and Ian and Patrick say some stuff too.

Sometimes we gotta get a little off topic. We talk about big foot, aliens, and a little bit of music.

On this episode we were joined by Derek Prince-Cox, drummer, singer, screamer, and guitar player for several different bands and projects. Derek is also the host of the local podcast The Wok Show. A podcast that sits down with entrepreneurs and musicians alik to find out what makes them tick!

We sat down with local noise rock group Shy Harry. The band has brand new music coming out on June 24th and just introduced a new member. We talk about going from a three piece to a four piece and the challenges that come along with that. We also got an exclusive sneak preview of the new single. Ian and Christian sit down with Tennyson King who is quite the prolific touring artist. Australia, China, Netherlands, and Canada, Tennyson has been all over the globe. He shares with us some fantastic stories of his travels as well as a few "shocking" tales as well!

On this episode the boys sit down with Auras guitarist/vocalist/creative force Josh Ligaya. We talk all about the bands up and coming record "Binary Forest" releasing July 12th. Josh explains how the writing process was so unique for this album and the reason for taking the Auras sound in a fresh direction. We also he the tale of "Musty Corn" which had us all cracking up.

On this episode the guys talk about Choose Yr Own Fest that went down on Saturday, April 20th. We share our experiences from the day, the "highs" and the lows. We shout out all the people that made the day possible. We also cover a little bit of music news.

On this episode the boys sit down with K-W's own Matt Weidinger. Matt is a multi talented extraordinary blues musician. We talk about working full time as a musician and the hardships that come along with that. Adding to that we discuss the difficulties of making time for creative projects when your schedule is so busy. Matt shares with us his admiration for vintage organs and keyboards.

The APE Crew sits down with KW local gone super star Brandon Lockwood of Courage My Love and Co Owner of Life Line Supply Co. We talk about how he has grown as an artist with the band as well as on his own. His budding interest in producing different styles of music as well as his struggle to release any of it . We also touch on getting emotional while writing and sharing music with others. And finally a strange trip to a Vegas gentlemans club with Brandon's mom.

The APE Crew sits down with local blues rock musician Jacob Bihun and his production team from Canadian Daydream. We discuss Jacobs new single "Whiskey and Smokes" that is to be released on Friday the 8th. We also talk about his album that just wrapped production and is due for a mid April release. Jacob also performs a live acoustic set.

This week on the podcast Patrick and Christian had the opportunity to sit down and interview their long time friends in Kitchener-Waterloo local band Danger Liker. Ian Zeberek of the Ape Audio Crew happens to be a member of said band, so he took the position of band member instead of host this week. We talked about each members early years, into their development as musicians. We touch on previous bands they each played in, leading up to the formation of Danger Liker. During the second half we get into the bands inspirations, writing style, production, and the dynamic of the three friends. At the end of the episode Danger Liker answers a few fan questions and also reveals the addition of two new members; whose identities will be announced at a later date!

This week we had the honor of talking to Adam, Ben, and Riley from local band Romancer. In this episode, we journey through the band’s history, and how their writing and recording process have matured over time. We touch on each members musical influences and how they impact the bands drive and creativity. Romancer tells us about their exciting tour through the United States along side Silver Age, and the impacts of sustaining yourself solely off of fast food. The band touches on the excitement they felt upon returning home and being greeted by a huge crowd of fans and new faces at Hope Fest. We got a behind the scenes look at what it was like to work with local music video director jakob Koehler-lees of Iced Out Visuals and Mercedes Arn-Horn. Lastly the band took an opportunity to answer a few of their fans questions!

Christian, Patrick, and Ian are all by their lonesome once again, ringing in the new year with a fresh baked episode of the podcast. On this episode the guys discuss the retirement of several musical legends, Drake being a complete creep, R Kelly's criminal investigations, Maroon Five and Travis Scott fusing at the super bowl, and last but certainly not least the announcement that Maynard James Keenan of TOOL has announced his completion of vocal tracking for the new album. It has been thirteen years since 10,000 days and we discuss whether we think the record can possibly live up to expectations!

Christian, Patrick, and Ian are joined by NO ONE, we sit by ourselves and reflect upon 2018. We discuss our five favorite albums, artists, projects, and songs of the year. We also share personal stories of what we enjoyed this year and what we didn't. The APE Crew gets philosophical discussing what we want out of 2019 and what we don't. Christian, Patrick, and Ian kick back with Kitchener-Waterloo local multi talented poet, rapper, and skateboard god Tyler Ens AKA Child The Rapper. Tyler lays down his humble musical beginnings and explains why as a hip-hop artists he doesn't actually listen to that much of the genre. We speak about his very first live performance, as well as the excitement, perspective and new sense of direction that comes along with it. Later we show case some of Tyler's collaborative studio work with two other local artists Nicky Columbus and Alice Winters. Tyler also gives us a brief glimpse into his first ever skateboard trip while we watch a film produced by Robert Polakiewicz that showcases Tyler's skills as a skateboarder.

Christian, Patrick, and Ian sit down with local hardcore legend Sam Hillifer to discuss the history of his current band SUNDIVER his side project Hot Future as well as the history behind his previous band and scene darling Die Atlantic. Sam "Chers" with us his humble musical beginnings and what inspired him as an artist. He takes us on journey of not only his musical development but the tri-cities as well. We discuss what the local scene is doing well and also what it may be lacking. Ian offers up an amazing misheard lyric that you wont want to pass up. We also Introduce a new member to our crew Devin Flynn who is joining us as a production assistant.
