“Aboriginal youth in central Australia are some of the most criminalised young people on the planet.”
Dr Lora Chapman has been a social worker for over 14 years, traveling around the world observing and supporting many different youth communities. Her recent field work in Alice Springs and Central Australia highlights some interesting findings around indigenous youth, culture clashes and the challenges that occur in this particular community.
Dr Chapman is particular interested in how young people are talked about in Alice Springs and took a deep dive on through her thesis. She shares her findings, observations and some of her experiences engaging with these communities and individuals.

Meet James and Luke Course, Directors and Founders of Gawk Outdoor, a Victorian-based advertisement company specialising in regional Victoria billboards, or as James would put it, a 'rectangle on the side of the road'.
Their story is pretty incredible: two brothers started a business back in 2017/2018 around the family dinner table, and they now have over 118 billboards in regional Victoria and 18 staff.
Both have been recognised for their incredible achievements with nominations for the B&T 30 under 30 awards, with James taking the award! Gawk has also been recognised by the Financial Review as a part of its Fast Starters List in 2023. In this episode, the boys talk candidly about their relationship, creating company culture, building a business they are proud of, and what they believe will be the future trends in advertising in regional spaces in Victoria.

Randstad’s latest Workmonitor report, which surveyed 27,000 workers in 34 markets, reveals the majority (55%) of Aussie workers believe flexible work is now non-negotiable, with two thirds (63%) having made arrangements in their lives, such as moving house or getting a pet, based on the assumption that working from home is here to stay.
