Executive Producer David Freid And Expedition Participant Alex Hernandez From Expedition From Hell

Executive Producer David Freid And Expedition Participant Alex Hernandez From Expedition From Hell

The limited docuseries, EXPEDITION FROM HELL: THE LOST TAPES, uncovers a doomed expedition through the Amazon led by a charismatic guide with unclear motives.  The series unfolds a stranger-than-fiction story of Mickey Grosman, a former special forces demolitions expert who took a group of amateur adventurers on a nearly impossible journey across South America. Positioned as a charity trek for cancer awareness, participants were to be part of a 5,000-mile expedition across the continent through the deepest parts of the Amazon jungle. Only one claims to have made it to the end…Mickey Grosman.
David Freid serves as executive producer for the limited series. He is a director, producer, and journalist who has contributed to The Atlantic, The New York Times, National Geographic, NBC and Vanity Fair, among others. Freid was the lead creative of MEL Films, where he further honed his unique approach of finding humor and humanity in surprising places (filmed in over 30 countries). Those films went on to win the International Documentary Association (IDA) award for Best Documentary Series, an Edward R. Murrow Award for journalism, and he was nominated for an Emmy for "Guns Found Here”. His films have amassed millions of organic views online, and have played and won at festivals around the world, including SXSW, DOC NYC, Tribeca and Cannes. David has since gone on to direct multiple national commercials, one of which aired during the Super Bowl, and he has been the showrunner and director for series available on Discovery, Peacock, and Max.
Alexander Hernandez is an Orlando, FL-based financial consultant who joined Mickey Grosman on the ill-fated expedition through the Amazon.

Dr Sabine Stanley Bringing Science And Art Together The Travel Exhibit Fierce Planets

Dr Sabine Stanley Bringing Science And Art Together The Travel Exhibit Fierce Planets

Scorching magma flows, and ice volcanoes. Storms with thousand mile per hour winds. Crushing pressure. Interior tides. Diamond rain. In What’s Hidden Inside Planets? planetary scientist Dr. Sabine Stanley cracks the surface to reveal the beating heart of planets and what created them—from the building blocks of swirling cosmic dust, pebbles, and gas to the gestation of planetesimal beginnings to the ancient celestial bodies in our solar system, and beyond.

Earth, from space, looks like a shimmering gem suspended in an inky, infinite expanse. But this serene image masks the volatile interior forces that ironically make life possible for millions of species on the surface. The placid appearances of our neighboring planets similarly belie their powers—and science fiction-worthy features. The daily machinations of Earth’s deep interior make our planet a habitable, yet sometimes treacherous, place to live. Drill down thousands of miles through our built environments and soil, sand, water, and rock to the outer and inner cores, encountering intense convection, roiling metals, buried continents, and shifting tectonic plates. Discover the effects of magnetism, rotation, and seismic activity seen and sensed in the forms of auroras, hurricanes, volcanoes, and earthquakes, among other manifestations, and learn why Earth should be celebrated as the wonder it is—and protected.

The Daily Mess Breaking Down Your True Calling

The Daily Mess Breaking Down Your True Calling

May 15, 2024

My performance on terrestrial radio and with podcasting have required its share of sacrifices.  Yet the rolling stone has collected no moss.  It’s always been growing forward.  I’m not convinced that it’s my calling.  Radio and podcasting are platforms.  A gallery is an outlet for artists.  Breaking down what’s calling you is a journey because it explains why we are, but is it the real source or push to keep walking? We spend so much time chasing dreams that we forget to take the time to craft the calling.  Too much of what we do falls into place.  Did it come with a price?  If not, isn’t that stealing?

The Lyrics From Rainbow Forest Chapter 373 Trees Amplify Sound

The Lyrics From Rainbow Forest Chapter 373 Trees Amplify Sound

Research shows that trees and shrubs do not defuse sound. They absorb it. Sound moves through a collection of tree 13 times faster than other areas. I wonder then, when I hear music from the other side of this forest what am I sending to them? Rarely do I have music playing outside. But I have thoughts. A full display of my mental transistions.

Jessie Peck And Ronnie Moss From The Spinners The New Album Is Full Circle

Jessie Peck And Ronnie Moss From The Spinners The New Album Is Full Circle

Timeless in a way that few other acts are, The Spinners are one of the most iconic and enduring groups in R&B history. With a towering legacy spanning over six decades, The Spinners have never lost their universal appeal. In 2021, they returned with their first all-new original album, the aptly-titled, "Round the Block and Back Again."

The group created and came to define the smooth sound of Philadelphia Soul, channeling the highs and lows of romance and heartbreak into a catalog of classic hits, beloved across generations. Throughout the years the Spinners remained perched atop the Pop, R&B, and Adult Contemporary Charts, with smash singles like, "I'll Be Around," "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love," "Then Came You," "The Rubberband Man'' and many more - earning six Grammy nominations, 18 Platinum and Gold Albums, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and selling millions of records worldwide in the process. Their legendary repertoire has earned a permanent place in the American songbook.

Though The Spinners popularized, and came to epitomize, the lush sound of Philly Soul in the 1970s, they got their start in Detroit at Motown in 1961. The Spinners signed with Atlantic Records in 1972, teaming up with producer Thom Bell in Philadelphia where the group blossomed under his production aegis.

The Spinners had another classic hit single, "Working My Way Back To You," topping the Pop and R&B charts, earning the group its twelfth gold record. The "The Love Trippin" album (1980) also included "Cupid," one of the fastest-selling records in The Spinners' illustrious career. The follow-up LP, "Labor of Love," featured such stand-out tunes as "Yesterday Once More," and "Long Live Soul Music."

This provocative Young Adult novel by best-selling author Jennifer Donnelly will forever change how you think about beauty, power, and what it really means to follow your heart.

When Arabella faces makes her debut in society, her parents want her to be sweet and compliant so she can marry well, but try as she might, Arabella can't extinguish the fire burning inside her -- the source of her deepest wishes, her wildest dreams.

When an attempt to suppress her emotions tragically backfires, a mysterious figure punishes Arabella with a curse, dooming her and everyone she cares about, trapping them in her castle. As the years pass, Arabella abandons hope. The curse is her fault -- after all, there's nothing more "beastly" than a girl who expresses her anger -- and the only way to break it is to find a boy who loves her for her true self: a cruel task for a girl who's been told she's impossible to love. When a handsome thief named Beau makes his way into the castle, the captive servants are thrilled, convinced he is the one to break the curse. But Beau -- spooked by the castle's strange and forbidding ladies-in-waiting, and by the malevolent presence that stalks its corridors at night -- only wants to escape. He learned long ago that love is only an illusion. If Beau and Arabella have any hope of breaking the curse, they must learn to trust their wounded hearts, and realize that the cruelest prisons of all are the ones we build for ourselves.

Ben Dusing From Free Store At The Front Kherson Ukraine Episode Five Future Broadcasters Meet Ben

The geography speaks for itself. The bad guys are just kilometers away, across the river. We are the only international (or locals) with a brick and mortar office downtown, for them to go for help. No assistance from govt unless elderly, and the assistance they get is shit.
Office safe from “normal” shelling (tank fire, most mortars). Glide bombs and attack drones are new since Ukrainians landed on other side and have beachhead. Quietly, that is a total massacre over there — poorly kept secret here. can’t do much about the big stuff … if we get hit with a glide bomb we’re fucked. I like our chances.
Mon wed Friday the FREE STORE AT THE FRONT is open at our office. Basic foods medicines hygiene and winter clothes. Mondays we run bread into insanely dangerous places by the Antonivky bridge, do other stuff like that. Off the radar. For city admin. We are an important “off the books asset” for them.

It can be dangerous to be a listener. An emotional sport. Once you make contact with another real person the goal shouldn't be to locate a new BFF. You've captured a moment of time. So we've turned off our reason to just be with someone. It's an interesting world. It's time to listen to it.

Renowned Conservationist Dr M Sanjayan From Changing Planet Coral Special

Featuring spectacular underwater photography, the third year of the seven-year Changing Planet series explores how scientists from across disciplines are collaborating on projects that offer glimmers of hope for the future of coral reefs. Globally, coral reefs are at a crisis point; warming seas have caused corals to bleach and die at an alarming rate. Five hundred million people worldwide rely on reefs for food and to protect coastlines from storms and rising sea levels. But without action, scientists predict that nearly all reefs could die off in the next few decades.

In the U.S., Florida has the third largest barrier reef in the world, but it has lost an alarming 98% of its coral. But innovative techniques are helping restore coral reefs. From "Coral IVF" to building hybrid, ready-made reefs to using fish vocalizations to lure coral larvae, Dr. Sanjayan can talk about what scientists are doing around the world to improve the fate of corals.

Dr. M. Sanjayan is a conservation scientist and chief executive officer of Conservation International, an organization working primarily in the Global South to secure nature for humanity. Most recently, he was named to the inaugural TIME 100 list of climate leaders, which noted his ability to forge powerful partnerships for environmental protection and restoration. He has hosted more than a dozen award-winning documentaries from PBS, BBC, National Geographic, Discovery, Showtime, and Vox Media.

The Daily Mess Mislabeled Mental Folders

The Daily Mess Mislabeled Mental Folders

Putting ourselves in the right frame of mind requires compartmentalizing. Not an easy walk. I envision it being like the computer folders where we store data. The first step is always giving the folder a name. I've always treated them like book titles. The items in the computer folder should be connected to the information stored. I believe we do it mentally. We store our emotions and dreams inside folders with book title names and can never relocate them. Putting ourselves in the right frame of mind means taking the secrecy out of the reason why a folder was made. Call out your folder for what it is.

Food Author And Scientist Rob Dunn From Curiosity Streams Taste The Flavor Of Life

Food Author And Scientist Rob Dunn From Curiosity Streams Taste The Flavor Of Life

Every living thing must solve an equation. How much nitrogen to eat, how much sodium, how much phosphorus, etc. The body solves that equation by taste and flavor -- by making living things crave what they need. Our appetites are linked to nutritional requirements. Taste: The Flavor of Life, a new docuseries on Curiosity Stream, explores the world of taste and how deliciousness unites us with the rest of animals in surprising ways.
For example -- Organisms need salt for their cells to function properly. If a food has salt, the taste receptor sends a signal to the brain, creating pleasure. The umami taste receptor rewards animals for finding nitrogen, an element that’s essential for building proteins and genes. Sweet taste receptors encourage animals to find foods with enough sugar to fuel their daily activity. Taste: The Flavor of Life traces the impact of taste from animals’ first steps on land to top Michelin star restaurants!
Taste: The Flavor of Life comes from biologist Rob Dunn and is inspired by his book Delicious – The Evolution of Flavor and How It Made Us Human (co-written by Monica Sanchez). A Professor at NC State University, Rob leads the Public Science Lab, a group of scholars from diverse disciplines who work to make new discoveries about daily life. His research has been awarded more than ten million dollars in grants from more than twelve different sources for work in 20 different countries. An avid writer, Rob has published many articles in National Geographic, the New York Timesthe Wall Street Journal among many others, as well as seven books including The Wild Life of Our Bodies and A Natural History of the Future.

Blackstone Publishing announces the forthcoming release of Zoro's book, MARIA'S SCARF: A MEMOIR OF A MOTHER'S LOVE, A SON'S PERSEVERANCE, AND DREAMING BIG . A beautiful and transformative memoir, Maria's Scarf is the incredible story of a mother's love, a family's unbreakable bond, and a starry eyed boy who never lost sight of his dreams.

As the fatherless biracial child of a Mexican immigrant, Danny Donnelly was never expected to amount to much. Before the age of nine, his single mother had moved her seven children more than thirty times-from the impoverished streets of South Central Los Angeles to rural Oregon and everywhere in between.

Sometimes there was no home to go to, so they slept in their '62 Chevy; sometimes dinner was a slice of bread; sometimes they showered in a nearby park. Desperate yet ever hopeful, they clung to the only thing they had-each other. Through it all, Danny longed for his father's love and approval, ultimately channeling his pain and transforming himself into Zoro, one of the world's greatest drummers.

Eloquent, hilarious, and remarkably tender, Maria's Scarf: A Memoir of a Mother's Love, a Son's Perseverance, and Dreaming Big, tells the story of a family fighting for survival against almost insurmountable odds.

Through laughter, tears, and many misadventures, Zoro's autobiography touches the heart of every reader-young or old, citizen or immigrant-and speaks to the dreamer in all of us, emboldening everyone to live fantazmical lives.

Author Wesley Moore A Southern Storyteller Igniting Your Imagination With Today Oh Boy

Author Wesley Moore A Southern Storyteller Igniting Your Imagination With Today Oh Boy

What would a novel that takes place on a singular day in a 1970 southern high school look like?

“Ferris Bueller meets Ulysses” is how author Wesley Moore III’s wife, Caroline, jokingly summarizes his debut novel, Today, Oh Boy.

Today, Oh Boy shares with Joyce’s masterpiece a plethora of well-developed characters Both novels utilize the omniscient point-of-view so that the all-knowing narrator can enter the consciousness of various characters yet provide panoramic overviews of the hustle and bustle of Dublin and Summerville High School.

The book offers, on the one hand, a time-capsule look at a world gone by – segregation, Vietnam War, and hitchhiking – and on the other hand, offers a realistic depiction of contemporary high school youth grappling with life’s issues, from the serious to the humorous.

Ben Dusing From Free Store At The Front Kherson Ukraine Episode Four The Calling
