Unfortunate Truths: COVID-19 | Dr. Abdu Sharkawy
COVID-19! Many are panicking, some are protesting, but not many of us really know what we're talking about. Luckily for you, Dr. Abdu Sharkawy, who without a doubt does know what he's talking about, has graciously joined us to share his thoughts on the coronavirus pandemic.
Currently working as an assistant professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine and as an Infectious Disease Specialist at the University Health Network - North America's largest health research organization - Dr. Sharkawy has previously volunteered with Doctors without Borders, the United Way, and Amnesty International. Since writing a viral Facebook post titled "I am not scared of COVID-19" currently at 1.9 million shares, his expert opinion on the pandemic has become widely sought after and been covered by national media outlets.
From the genesis of the virus itself to its potential impact on our infrastructure and healthcare system, no stone is left unturned in this topical (though hopefully not for much longer) episode of Art of Impact.
Why We Need Entrepreneurs | Derrick Fung
Before Derrick Fung had graduated from high school, his website was already the top result in thousands of Google searches. Since starting what was at one point the largest online sheet music community in the world, he's gone on to found Tunezy, a "social record label" which earned him a spot on the Forbes Top 30 under 30 for Music list and was acquired by SFX entertainment for a seven-figure sum. He currently spearheads Drop, a rewards program app with over $70 million raised in venture capital and 3 million users. Derrick's progression from dedicated high school hustler to CEO of a company with accolades from the likes of Forbes, Business Insider, and Buzzfeed is a compelling and inspiring tale and serves as a sincere narrative through the tumultuous world of entrepreneurship.
