TLFS - Rounding off Burnley's season. Derek Adams leaves Morecambe to join Bradford City #18

Hello and welcome to episode 18 of the Lancashire football show. Host, Ash is joined this week by Ben and Matt.

Today the lads finally round off Burnley season. The Clarets finish in 17th place in the Premier League after a disappointing finish to the season. After securing their Premier League status for at least one more season when they beat Fulham, Burnley went on to lose their last 3 games. Can excuses be made? Has it been a really tough season, taking into account the scheduling of the games?

After winning the play-off final with Morecambe, Derek Adams has left the club in a better place than when he first joined the club. The Shrimps will be playing in League One next season. Who should they appoint? Why did Adams leave? To find out more give this podcast a listen.

TLFS - Morecambe and Blackpool are both promoted! Play-off special mini series part 4. Episode #17

TLFS - Morecambe and Blackpool are both promoted! Play-off special mini series part 4. Episode #17

Hello and welcome to the Lancashire football show, this is the final part of a mini special play-off series. Host, Ash is joined this week by Matt and the Ben.

Both Morecambe and Blackpool have been promoted!

Over the bank holiday weekend, Blackpool beat Lincoln City 2-1 in the League One play-off final. The Seasiders couldn't have gotten off to a worse start though. An Ollie Turton own goal put Blackpool 1-0 down within the first minute of the game. However, Kenny Dougall was Turton and Blackpool's hero. His double was enough to send Blackpool up and into the Championship.

Morecambe played a day after Blackpool in the League Two play-off final. Their opponents were Newport County. There was a lot of talk before hand from fans about it being former Morecambe player Kevin Ellison vs The Shrimps manager Derek Adams after the two shared history. Ellison seemed to have been frozen out by Adams which led to Ellison moving on from the club that he has so much history with. And obviously, no one can forget Ellison's celebration back in March where he came over to Adams straight after scoring Newport's third in his sides 3-1 win over the Shrimps. However, as we now know it was Adams who will be the happier of the two right now after a penalty was given to Morecambe in extra-time. Star man, Carlos Mendes Gomes stepped up and scored from the spot. No reply from Newport meant that The Shrimps promoted into League One!

At the time of recording Derek Adams had been rumoured to be leaving Morecambe but nothing had been confirmed. We now know that the manager has left the club. This is something that the lads will be discussing in next weeks weekly episode.

TLFS - Can Burnley beat Liverpool again this season and put a dent in their Champions League qualification hopes? Preston North End appoint Frankie McAvoy on a permanent deal. The right choice? #14

Hello and welcome to episode 14 of the Lancashire football show. Host, Ash is joined this week by Ben and Matt.

This week they looked at Burnley's recent 4-0 loss to Leeds United whilst also looking ahead to their clash with Liverpool. Despite the overall stats in the game being fairly even, Burnley were thumped 4-0 by Leeds. A poor showing from The Clarets won't be what Sean Dyche was hoping for. What went wrong? And Liverpool are hoping to Leapfrog Leicester or Chelsea, or possibly even both team's (depending on results), they need a win at Turf Moor to do so.

Elsewhere Preston North End's season might be over but the off the field stuff is never over. Frankie McAvoy has been appointment by PNE on a permanent deal. Is he the right man for the job? They did finish off the season strong, the stats don't lie. To see what the lads had to say have a listen to this episode.

TLFS - Morecambe and Blackpool Play-off Special part 1 Episode #13

TLFS - Morecambe and Blackpool Play-off Special part 1 Episode #13

Hello and welcome to the Lancashire football show, this is the first part of a mini special play-off series. Host, Ash is joined this week by Ben, Matt and Callum.

First and foremost, as said in the podcast, everyone at The Lancashire Football Show wants to send out our thoughts, prayers and condolences to everyone who knew Jordan Banks, who sadly died this week. We can't imagine what his family and friends are going through, but on behalf of The Lancashire Football Show we are really sorry for you loss. Rest in peace Jordan.

This week the lads are introducing a new mini series all about Morecambe and Blackpool's play-off journeys. Morecambe will face Tranmere in the League Two play-offs where if they progress through after the two legs they will face Newport County or Forest Green. Blackpool, in the League One play-offs will face Oxford United. If they progress through to the final, The Seasiders will face either Sunderland or Lincoln City.

Next week again TLFS will release two episodes. On Monday they will focus on the outcome of Burnley's game with Leeds as well as looking at Preston North End and their recent appointment of Frankie McAvoy, who was announced as PNE's permanent manager after performing well following the sacking of Alex Neil.

Again, next Friday TLFS will release part two of the mini special play-off series. This time they will know the result of both Morecambe's and Blackpool's first leg ties. There will be plenty of analysis as well as opinions so make sure you tune in.

TLFS - Morecambe face the playoffs as they just miss out on automatic promotion. Blackpool finish 3rd - now the favourites to win the playoffs in League One? Burnley can relegate Fulham tonight #12

Hello and welcome to episode 12 of the Lancashire football show. Host, Ash is joined this week by Ben and Matt.

This week is quite a unique week compared to others. We’ve seen the championship, League One and League Two all finish and come to an end this past weekend and we now know what lies ahead for the Lancashire clubs. However, its not the end of the road for Morecambe or Blackpool just yet, they both finished in the playoffs in their leagues. The lads touch on this a little bit in this episode.

Please note that coming out towards the end of this week will be a special additional Play Off episode where the lads will really analyse what lies ahead for the two clubs. As well as this they will be releasing season reviews for each of the Lancashire clubs, looking at their highs and lows and much more. These will again be additional episodes to their weekly uploads, so over the next week or two, TLFS listeners are going to be given a lot of extra content. And don’t worry their weekly episodes will still be going strong, with the playoffs happening, breaking news such as any managerial changes and of course Burnley still have a few games to go before their season finishes. To keep up to date with any new episodes follow their Twitter account - @TLancsFS.

This week the lads spoke about all 7 Lancashire teams. For Accrington Stanley, Fleetwood Town, Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End their seasons are now over. However, for Blackpool and Morecambe they've still go at least two games to go with the playoff semi-finals. Before the special playoff episode - that will be coming out later this week - Ash, Ben and Matt spoke about the teams most recent game and who they'll be facing in the playoffs. There will be much more to come on these playoff games with the Morecambe and Blackpool playoff special coming out soon.

Burnley could relegate Fulham tonight, leaving the Clarets with three games left with no major pressure. This could allow Sean Dyche's men to express themselves a bit and will also allow Dyche and his team to relax a little bit. Although Burnley's safety if pretty much a given, Dyche won't want to wait another week or two to get over the line. Can the Clarets finish off what's not been a great season tonight? Could this kickstart a positive finish to the campaign?

Finally, former Halifax Town, Chorley FC and most recently Clitheroe FC player James Dean has died, his body was found yesterday (Sunday). Everyone here at The Lancashire Football Show wants to send out their thoughts, condolences and prayers to all of James' family, friends, former team mates/managers and fans. Rest in peace James or as he was best known as 'Deano'.

TLFS - Anything can happen going into the last game of the League 2 season with results going Morecambe's way. Are Blackpool favourites to win the playoffs? Burnley face a tough West Ham side #11

Hello and welcome to episode 11 of the Lancashire football show. Host, Ash is joined this week by Ben, Matt and Callum.

Last week their biggest talking points focused around; Morecambe's 1-0 loss to Bolton Wanderers, Preston North End picked up two big wins and Burnley faced off with Wolves.

However, this week their biggest talking points were: The race for automatic promotion in League 2 is still ON! Despite Morecambe losing 1-0 to Bolton Wanderers last week, The Shrimps are back in the race going into the final game of League Two. Morecambe beat Walsall 2-0 and Bolton lost 2-1 to Exeter City meaning that there is just one point separating Bolton and Morecambe going into next weekend. If Bolton lose, Morecambe only need one point to get the automatic promotion spot as their goal difference is better then Bolton's. A very exciting and nerve racking week for the Shrimps fans.

Blackpool beat Northampton Town 3-0 at the weekend. They were also victorious against Sunderland last Tuesday, that finished 1-0 again - for the second time in the space of 10 days. Those two wins over Sunderland last month could put them as favourites going into the playoffs. If Blackpool were to pick up maximum points from their last two games then they would actually finish above Sunderland. Being solid at the back seems to be the key for The Seasiders, can they maintain that over the next two games and put themselves in the best possible place heading into the playoffs?

And Burnley face a tough West Ham side on Monday night. The Clarets will be in good spirits coming into this game, a brilliant 4-0 win against Wolves last week will have boosted Sean Dyches men. Hattrick hero on-the-day, Chris Wood, will be looking to add to his season tally. The three he scored last week has put him up at 11 goals for the season, could he get more goals before the season's done?

Hello and welcome to episode 10 of the Lancashire football show. Host, Ash is joined this week by Ben, Matt and Callum.

Last week their biggest talking points focused around Morecambe, Blackpool and Blackburn Rovers.

However, this week their biggest talking points were: Morecambe lost 1-0 to Bolton Wanderers and are now 4 points behind the Whites. Is the League Two table going to stay the same, will Morecambe miss out on an automatic promotion place? Find out more here.

Preston North End picked up two big wins to cement their place in the Championship. They beat Coventry 1-0 and Derby County 3-0. PNE have now got three clean sheet's in a row, a good platform going into next season?

And Burnley face Wolves (the podcast was recorded before the game), we spoke about their chances in this game whilst highlighting the importance of it. With a win, will they be safe. Have a listen to what we had to say prior to Sunday's 4-0 win for the Clarets.

TLFS - Morecambe score 8 in 2 games to keep the pressure on Bolton in 3rd, Blackpool remain unbeaten and secure a huge win, Harvey Elliot shines as Blackburn Rovers beat Derby #9

Hello and welcome to episode 9 of the Lancashire football show.
Host, Ash is joined this week by Ben, Matt and Callum. Last week their biggest talking points focused around Fleetwood and Accrington and their slow walk to the end of the season. They also spoke about Blackpool who dropped points last week but kept their unbeaten run going and finally they looked at Burnley's season, has it been poorer than people initially thought?
However, this week their biggest talking points were: Morecambe secured a 4-1 victory over Scunthorpe and a dramatic 4-3 win over Oldham Athletic to keep the pressure on third placed Bolton Wanderers. The Shrimps actually face Bolton on Saturday, could this game decide how the season finishes? First on Tuesday they face Grimsby Town, who stunned Bolton 2-1 at the weekend.
Blackpool secured a huge win against promotion rivals Sunderland. With 6 games to go for Blackpool, can they go all the way? Will fatigue kick in? Find out what the lads said here.
Finally, Harvey Elliot was Blackburn's star man against derby County, his 66th minute strike proved to be the winner for Mowbray's men. That win probably takes Rovers out of the relegation picture now. What's next for the youngster? Should he step up into the Premier League?

TLFS - Fleetwood Town and Accrington Stanley's should just plan for next season now. Burnley lose to Newcastle, will they go down? Blackpool continue their unbeaten run #8

Hello and welcome to episode 8 of the Lancashire football show.

Host, Ash is joined this week by Ben, Matt and the debuting Joe. Last week their biggest talking points focused around Burnley's 3-2 loss to Southampton, is it time for Dyche to go? Morecambe had a good chance to capitalise on the teams above them after Bolton lost to Newport County, they continue their promotion push. And Preston North End looked to have turned a corner after picking up four points against Norwich and Swansea.

However, this week their biggest talking points were: Fleetwood Town and Accrington Stanley continue their slow walk to the end of the campaign. Neither have much to play for anymore, they're now heading in different directions going into next season, have a listen to the lads debate about this?

Blackpool dropped points again late on in their game this week as they drew 2-2 with Lincoln City, but they remain unbeaten. They also still remain fourth with a games in hand on the teams above and around them.

Burnley lost 2-1 to relegation rivals Newcastle, will they go down? See what the lads had to say here.

TLFS - Should Sean Dyche leave Burnley? Will he be backed in the next transfer window? Morecambe could go third if they beat Southend United... Have Preston North End turned a corner? #7

Hello and welcome to episode 7 of the Lancashire football show.

Host, Ash is joined this week by Ben, Callum and Matt. Last week their biggest talking points focused around Accrington Stanley's disappointing 7-0 defeat to Peterborough. They also spoke about Blackpool, despite dropping two points again they had managed to creep into a playoff position. They also discussed whether Simon Grayson deserved to be given a long term contract at Fleetwood Town, which is exactly what he received last week.

However, this week their biggest talking points were: Burnley lost 3-2 to Southampton, despite being 2-0 up. Does the manager of the club need to change? Or is it the style of play? With the backing by the board, could it all change? Find out the lads thoughts in this podcast.

After Bolton's 1-0 loss to Newport County, Morecambe have the chance to climb above them and into third as long as they beat Southend United on Tuesday night.

And Preston North End might have turned a corner, after picking up four points from Norwich and Swansea. PNE finally have some positivity in and around the club.

TLFS - Accrington Stanley get hammered 7-0, Blackpool drop two points again in added time and Fleetwood Town give Simon Grayson a 'long term contract' #6

Hello and welcome to episode 6 of the Lancashire football show.

Host, Ash is joined this week by Ben, Callum and Matt. Last week their biggest talking points focused around Preston North End sacking Alex Neil as well as Dion Charles' call up to the Northern Ireland squad. They also looked at Morecambe's tough games ahead.

However, this week their biggest talking points were: Accrington Stanley grabbed the headlines again this week, but not for reasons they'd want. John Coleman's side were thumped 7-0, the lads listened to his reaction as well as discussing what they thought on the game.

Blackpool for the third time this month, conceded late on to drop two points as they drew 2-2 with Plymouth Argyle. The lads again listened to Neil Critchley's reaction and discussed whether they'll remain in the play-offs come the end of the season.

Fleetwood Town have given Simon Grayson a 'long-term' contract after his successful start with the club. He's taken them away from the relegation area to safety (or near enough to say they won't go down this season) and now has the task of building for next season, the four discuss whether that was the right decision.

And finally Nick Pope is currently England's number one, with Jordan Pickford out, and World Cup Qualifiers here, it seems that Gareth Southgate is opting for the Burnley goalkeeper over Dean Henderson and Sam Johnstone.

TLFS - PNE sack Alex Neil, Accrington's Dion Charles gets called up to the Northern Ireland squad & Morecambe face a tough few games #5

Hello and welcome to episode 5 of the Lancashire football show.

Host, Ash is joined this week by Ben, Callum and the returning Matt. Last week their biggest talking points focused around Blackburn's Bradley Dack as well as Morecambe and their former player Kevin Ellison.

However, this week their biggest talking points were: Preston North End and Alex Neil have 'parted ways' this week, the lads be talking all about this whilst discussing what's next for PNE.

Accrington Stanley's Dion Charles has been called up into the Northern Ireland squad, they'll be talking about his season so far as well as much more.

And Morecambe face a tough couple of games, with Cheltenham and Cambridge United up next. Both teams make up the top two in League two. A win in either game could be massive for Morecambe's playoff/promotion push.

And finally the lads talk about whether James Tarkowski exclusion from the England squad is fair, especially when compared to other English defenders, such as Tyrone Mings.

TLFS - Blackburn's Bradley Dack goes off injured again, are they better with or without him in their side? And Kevin Ellison comes back to haunt Derek Adams and Morecambe as they lose 3-1 #4

Hello and welcome to episode 4 of the Lancashire football show.

Host Ash is joined this week by Ben and Callum. Matt is ill this week, thankfully it's not COVID related, however filling in for him is lower league expert, and Sports Journalism student Lewis Walsh. Last week our biggest talking points focused around Burnley after they picked up two good draws, as well as Blackpool, Fleetwood and Preston North End.

However, this week their biggest talking points were:  Kevin Ellison scored Newport County's third as Morecambe lost 3-1 at home. However, it was Ellison's celebration that caught the media's eyes as he celebrated in Derek Adams face.

Bradley Dack went off injured for Blackburn in their 1-0 defeat to Brentford. After only returning on boxing day for the Rovers after another long-term injury, the 27-year-old looks to be side lined for a long period of time again. The lads discuss whether Blackburn are better with or without the midfielder.

Fleetwood Town and Blackpool met this week as they drew 0-0. The lads decide whether the score line was fair as well as touching on if they think Simon Grayson has finally found some consistency at Fleetwood.

And to finish off the lads talk about Burnley's 2-1 win against Everton as well as saying who they think should be England's number one in the Euro's. Should Nick Pope replace Jordan Pickford between the sticks?

TLFS - Burnley pick up 2 good draws, Blackpool draw twice after conceding late goals in both games, Fleetwood get 2 big wins and PNE have another tough week #3

Hello and welcome to episode 3 of the Lancashire football show.

Host Ash is joined again this week by Ben, Matt and Callum. Last week our biggest talking points focused around Morecambe and how far they can go as well as the match between Fleetwood and Accrington Stanley.

However, this week their biggest talking points are:  Burnley picked up two great draws against Leicester and Arsenal, you could say that they could’ve taken all three points in both games, however as always VAR played its part. They’ll be looking into those games a bit more. A win for Fulham against Liverpool has put a slight negative on a good weekend for the Clarets.

Blackpool dropped two points in the 93rd minute against Wimbledon, they also drew against Crew Alexandra who also scored late to level the game. Four points lost in total now for Blackpool, however they still have games in hand. Is a promotion/playoff place achievable for them?

Fleetwood also had a big week as they beat both Lincoln City and Shrewsbury Town, they’ll look into those games as well as discussing who should they get in as a manager if Grayson wasn’t given an extension.

PNE had another tough week, they lost one and drew one. The comeback against Bournemouth was a good one but they do need to win more games, they’ve won one game in their last 6. However, their next 3 games are all against sides who they should beat on paper, is it too late for a playoff push?

Each week the four of them will discuss the biggest talking points surrounding the Lancashire football clubs in League Two, League One, the Championship and the Premier League.

This week the lads biggest talking points were about Morecambe's late, dramatic win against Salford in mid-week as well as there loss to Mansfield at the weekend.

The four also discuss the game between Fleetwood and Accrington, which ended 1-1, was it a better point for Fleetwood?

They also talk about the pressures on Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End managers, Tony Mowbray and Alex Neil. Rovers failed to win again whereas PNE beat Huddersfield 3-0, can they both still turn their seasons around?

TLFS - Introduction, what the podcast is about, the seven Lancashire clubs, Burnley and Blackburn both have a bad weekend #1

Welcome to a brand new podcast series called The Lancashire Football Show. Host, Ash is joined by Ben, Matt and Callum. Each week the four of them will discuss the biggest talking points surrounding the Lancashire football clubs in League Two, League One, the Championship and the Premier League.

This week the lads introduce themselves explaining who they are and what they do. After, Ash describes what the podcast as a whole will consist of and then he finishes off by stating what this weeks biggest talking points are. Within the podcast Ash, Ben, Matt and Callum review all seven of the Lancashire clubs seasons so far.

Burnley failed to beat West Bromwich Albion, who played the game with 10 men for over 60 minutes. Even with the sending off West Brom were the better side and were unfortunate not to win the game, the four lads discuss what went wrong as well as looking onto the Tottenham game.

Blackburn Rovers lost their fourth game in a row and questions are being asked as to whether Tony Mowbray should remain the Rovers manager. Ash, Ben, Matt and Callum give their verdict on whether this is fair and whether it is time for Blackburn to appoint a new manager.
