Food, glorious food
This month, Michael Bell talks about the “very complex set of interrelationships of various materials moving in various directions” that characterizes the supply chain of Northern Ireland’s food and drink sector.
Michael explains how Northern Ireland, a 75% net exporter of food and drink, needs the movement of goods to be affordable, certain, simple, and stable. Michael believes the faster and better data can move through the supply chain, the faster and better government colleagues here and in Europe will know that “the load is genuine, correct, safe, and should be allowed to continue”.
Michael Bell is NIFDA Executive Director and a member of the Food and Drink Export Council, which promotes British agriculture, food and drink products overseas.
