Interview with Patriots Cheer Captain, Model, and TV Show Host Andrea Cadigan

Interview with Patriots Cheer Captain, Model, and TV Show Host Andrea Cadigan

We had a great opportunity to interview Andrea Cadigan who has been a Patriots cheerleader for the last 4 years and a cheer captain the last two years.  Andrea had the opportunity to cheer in three consecutive Super Bowls!  She also has deep roots with the Patriots since her Grandfather was the team physician in the 70’s at the same time that her mother was a Patriots Cheerleader and her sister was a cheerleader for the Pats before her.

We talked to Andrea about the behind the scenes life as a pro cheerleader, how intense tryouts are, what kind of interactions she had with players, how she stays in top physical shape, and so much more! We also talked to Andrea a lot about her career outside of cheerleading. She is also a model and she hosts the Boston DM Show for BostonMan Magazine, This Week on Martha’s Vineyard on Comcast, and Wicked Bites on NESN, so it was interesting to hear how she balances all the aspects of her life and career.  Keep up with what Andrea is doing by following her personal Instagram @andreacadigan as well as @bostonmanmag and @wickedbites!

Interview with Athletic Training Expert and Referee Jared Gartley

Interview with Athletic Training Expert and Referee Jared Gartley

Jared has just graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Athletic training, and as part of his education he has worked on the sidelines of many sports programs including college football, field hockey, soccer, women's hockey, and high school football to name a few. Jared is also a basketball referee at the high school level and he was a star three-sport athlete in high school, so he has tremendous sports knowledge.

We talked to Jared about the job an athletic trainer does on the sideline of a typical game, how AT advances have extended professional sports careers, and more details about progress in athletic training. He also analyzed four major injuries in the news with pro sports and what their recovery processes and timelines are likely to be. These examples are Kevin Durant's Achillies tendon rupture, Klay Thompson's ACL injury, Chris Sale's Tommy John surgery, and Cam Newton's Lisfranc foot injury. With his high school basketball referee experience, we also talked to Jared about some popular offensive and defensive moves we see in the NBA and how those plays are called if kids try them in high school. He also had some obscure basketball rules that most people, even advanced basketball fans, might not know. Thanks to Jared for coming on the podcast and we wish him the best going forward with his career in Athletic Training!

Interview with NBA legend Tim Hardaway Sr. and CEO of Dream Dribble Dylan Kaufman

Interview with NBA legend Tim Hardaway Sr. and CEO of Dream Dribble Dylan Kaufman

All-time great NBA guard Tim Hardaway Sr. came on the podcast to talk about his some of his career highlights including playing on an exciting young Warriors team in the early 1990's with Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin, building a great point guard - center duo with Alonzo Mourning in Miami, facing off against Michael Jordan's Bulls in the Eastern Conference Finals, and more!  Tim also talked about watching his Son grow into an exciting NBA player in his own right, leading to a discussion about why they stopped playing 1 on 1.

Tim was joined in this interview by Dylan Kaufman, CEO of Dream Dribble.  Tim and Dylan talked about their product Dream Silencer by Dream Dribble which is an indoor basketball training tool that allows you to practice ball handling skills while barely making a sound.  This product is perfect for anyone who wants to help their child advance their basketball skills without disturbing others in the house or neighbors with the excessive noise caused by dribbling a basketball on the ground.  Also consider the Dream Silencer if you live in a climate where playing outside is difficult during the winter.  Check out their website at the link below to learn more about Dream Silencer, find Tim's suggested ball handling drills to practice with the device, and purchase the product:

Interview with Pocket Radar Brand Manager Tyler Scaturro

Interview with Pocket Radar Brand Manager Tyler Scaturro

In this episode, we interview Tyler Scaturro, the brand manager for a rapidly growing sports technology company Pocket Radar!  We discuss what makes their technology more advanced than traditional radar systems, how this technology can help individual baseball players train, how the radar systems can help youth coaches,  how the advanced statistics and analytics from new technology is changing sports, and more!  Tyler is also a former college baseball player so he has great insight to how these tools can be used.  This interview was different from ones we have done in the past with pro athletes, but we thought it would be interesting to share a conversation with someone highly successful in the world of sports!  The Pocket Radar systems are used by all MLB organizations at some level as well as by pro athletes including Tom Brady for individual training.

For more info about Pocket Radar and how their systems might be able to help you, check out their social media @pocketradar or their website https://www.pocketradar.com/.
