Zero Tolerance - No More Plea Deals
Would you support a law that forbids plea deals to child abusers, child killers or child rapists?
We understand why plea deals are given. Even with strong evidence, a trial can be uncertain. A plea deal provides the prosecution with a "guaranteed" conviction but all too often child abusers, child killers and child rapists are getting a slap on the wrist. Our children deserve better. They deserve to be protected from these monsters.
Child Rights Activist Donna Kshir is petitioning in Pennsylvania for and hopes to have a Zero Tolerance Law put into place to protect children. Donna shares with Laurie Ann Smith on a recent episode of the Women Like Me Podcast. Listen to a brief clip of their discussion.

PA State Rep Aaron Bernstine thanks Donna, Laurie and Lee for their dedication to protecting children
PA State Rep Aaron Bernstine thanks Donna Kshir, Lee Roberts and Laurie Ann Smith for the years they spent fighting to protect children. Rep. Bernstine shares the email he received from Donna in August 2024 presenting him with her idea of a public child abuse registry. Donna and best friend Lee Cougardawn Roberts spent 9 years petitioning for a public child abuse registry in Pennsylvania. The idea came to Donna as she was working on Conner's Law - Kentucky. Ronald Saunders ll tortured and killed 2 year old Conner Bachauss. He served 5.5 years in prison for Conner's death. A month after being released from prison Ronald would abuse yet another child. It was then Donna thought if there was a public database like Megan's Law but for violent offenders convicted of child abuse -- it could be used as a tool to prevent child abuse. One could look it up to see if someone had ever been convicted of a violent crime against a child before getting involved with them, inviting them into their home or getting into a relationship with them. That information could be used protect children and ultimately save lives.
Donna, Rep. Bernstine and Lee appeared on The Whole Issue hosted by Canadian - American radio personality Laurie Ann Smith on September 4, 2024.
Currently, Rep. Bernstine created a bill known as PA HB 849 2025-2026 Regular Session.

The holidays can be overwhelming for many people and it often takes a great toll on our mental health, which in turn affects our physical health. We struggle to accommodate family and friends when many would prefer to enjoy a quiet time at home without all the fuss. The stress from trying to appease everyone and meet their needs while we end up neglecting our own takes a huge toll on our mental and physical well-being. While it can be wonderful to spend time with family it can also be very stressful. What can you do? Self care is important to maintaining your sanity. The holidays, mental health, and self-care. Let's Talk About It.

AU4H Radio-Real Talk-Every Child Matters-Institutional/Residential School Abuse Awareness
Join Lee, Donna and Laurie as they discuss the importance of being aware of the historical facts of the sad reality for so many children who were sent to Residential Schools or Institutions and died. Many were murdered, and many died from abuse. Families were often told that their child had run away, when in fact the child was dead and buried. In the light of the recent finding of 215 children in a mass grave in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, we want to also honour these children and all children who suffered and those who died at the hands of a caregiver whose main job was to protect them and care for them. We stand up and speak out against all abuse, and especially child abuse. Children cannot protect themselves and we must be their voice! Join us and get involved. Every child matters!

AU4H Radio-Real Talk-April is Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Join Donna, Lee and Laurie as we discuss the importance of being involved in Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault awareness all year long, not just in April. We have been advocating together and separately to stop and prevent child abuse for many years and we have no plans on ever stopping until this plague in our world stops. Children are dying and people are sexually assaulted every day. Our world needs to wake up and demand that this stops. It won't stop if we do not continue to create awareness and promote changes in the way society thinks about children and about sexual abuse of anyone. We all have a voice, and we all need to use it! Let's change this! Let's talk about it!
