Show Description: A man was casually watching his gentle neighbors one day. They were in their front yard. He heard them speak only one sentence. This man then told me what he heard and saw. He was surprised. So was I. And I wondered if I could tell their story in only one sentence.
Artist Description: We are not a company per se. We are a collaborative effort, a gaggle of artists if you will. I thought puppets were needed for this piece. Thus I asked Elliot Nye to join me. Elliot thought a second puppeteer was needed. Thus he asked David Handwerker to join us. I thought we needed a talented and graceful actor to join us. Thus I asked Amanda Painter. This is our company. We are from Portland Maine.

This new sketch comedy show from the minds of Portland's fifth most talented group of writers and performers promises to be a Project-X style rager. So strap on your party hats and get those little noisemaker things you blow into and they shoot out at the end and go BZOOO (you know what I'm talking about) because this comedy show is gonna be a SHINDIG!

BIOS!
Greg Baker is a writer, stand-up, filmmaker and a very nice person. He began his career at the University of Colorado Boulder writing for the premiere on-campus sketch comedy team Secret Recipe. After moving to Los Angeles, he worked on dozens of short films, music videos, feature films and sitcoms in production, art, casting and as a writer. He frequently performed stand-up comedy around Hollywood and occasionally wrote sketch comedy with The Upright Citizens Brigade and iO Theater West. Currently, Greg runs and manages his writing workshop group and writing collective The Los Angeles Writing Group and recently created the Maine based sketch comedy group Hey Party People. He enjoys going to the movies, playing beer league softball and baking cookies.

Tanya Schultz is a comedy/sci-fi nerd who writes half hour animated comedies for adults from an egalitarian perspective. She utilizes parody and satire to dissect contemporary culture/politics and is influenced by shows like South Park, Futurama, Bojack Horseman and seasons 1-8 of The Simpsons. Tanya studied improv and sketch comedy with the Second City in Toronto.

Casey Pratt is an Equity Stage Manager that has worked her way into film and television. She has worked both on and off-Broadway, in regional houses and touring venues. She has a degree in theater from The University of Southern Maine, her state of origin, and has been perusing a career in the entertainment business ever since. She recently worked on Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” based on the book by David Grann, and she was recently working on the AD team for an untitled movie filming in NYC.

We're back with Season 2! Our Visiting Professor Renee S. Decamillis is the author of the psychological thriller/supernatural horror novella The Bone Cutters, published through Eraserhead Press. The sequel to The Bone Cutters is in the works, with a publication date TBD. Renee’s short fiction appears in the Wicked Women anthology of New England Horror Writers from NEHW Press, Northern Frights: The Journal of Horror Writers of Maine: Issue 2.5, Lost; Deadman’s Tome: The Conspiracy Issue, Siren’s Call eZine Issue 37, The Other Stories Podcast. Her poetry appears in The Horror Writers Association Poetry Showcase Volume FOUR. She has her first comic book forthcoming through Phi3 Comics, with a publication date TBD. She is an active member of the Horror Writers Association, HWA. Fun fact, she is also a former gravedigger so she can get rid of a body fast without leaving a trace, and is not afraid of getting her hands dirty. Renee lives in the woods of Maine with her husband, their son, and a house full of ghosts. We're sure she didn't have any involvement in making the ghosts.

If it's theatre-related, Randy Hunt does it -- acting, directing, and even playwriting -- though he likely won't be stage managing ever again (hats off to the Stage Managers out there). He is particularly proud of the award-winning short plays he's written, and is very excited to unleash his first full-length play Inside Man to the world in 2021. Randy enjoys performing improv, especially since Southern Maine has so many talented improvisers to work with, and he is a proud member of the ComedySportz Maine improv team. Randy also hosts and cohosts various podcasts. We All Have a Story highlights the stories of the people around us for which we may not otherwise hear their stories (Headmaster Bob was the guest in Episode 2!), DeScripted, where he and his cohost Tyler Costigan take a closer look at the plays that have won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama since it was first awarded in 1918. He is also the cohost of Balderdash Academy’s Head to Head: Competitive Trivia with Coach Steve.

Shawn French is the lead writer of the video-games Epic Tavern and Murder on the Midway, writer/director of the horror flick The Wrong House, and writer/co-creator of comic-book series Escape from Jesus Island and the upcoming Tales from the Fantastical Crimes Unit, coming this October from Scout Comics. He also edits 50+ comics/year due to his long-running bad habit of turning every hobby into an occupation.
Tales from the Fantastical Crimes Unit is a comic-book adaptation of the video-game Epic Tavern and will be distributed by Scout Comics this October. An ashcan preview of the first eight pages drops in July. The comic is illustrated by Steve Mardo, with colors by Steve Lavigne from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crew, and features epic crossover puzzles and storylines with the game.

Mark Turcotte
Mark Turcotte is a married father of two and lifelong New Englander. Most of his material is mined from his family life, an adultlike curiosity, and a series of misfortunes. He’s the founder of Maine Event Comedy and was a finalist in the Funniest Comic on the East Coast Contest at Mohegan Sun and a semi-finalist at the World Series of Comedy in Sarasota, Florida. He was also part of the Gotham All-Stars Show in New York City and was a recent selection for the Boston, Cleveland, and North Carolina comedy festivals. Professor Molly McGill
Molly is the Grand Champion of Balderdash Academy. Overtaking Nate for most wins at the end of the first season. In the non-pandemic world, Molly can be found revving up the audience and cajoling the judges as host of Maine's Got Talent, as part of the cast of Sleuths Mystery Entertainment and Mystery for Hire, and onstage doing improv as a member of Balderdash Academy, The Chamber of Comedy, You Should Smile More and Mainely Improv.

Amanda Kinsey
Amanda has been performing as an improv artist and stage actor for the last seven years. She is currently serving in the Board of Directors for the Theatre of Monmouth, a world-renowned theatre company. Amanda has a passion for combining the principles of improv and mental health recovery to improve the lives of those struggling with mental health challenges. Amanda is currently working as the Assistant Director of Village Clubhouse. She's pleased to announce that Underground Improv has returned to live shows at Craft Brew Underground and the Somerset Abbey. Mystery or Hire and Mainely Improv are returning for live shows starting May 15th. I will be working with SPQRL Burlesque on combining improv and burlesque. Professor Randy Hunt
If it's theatre-related, Randy Hunt does it -- acting, directing, and even playwriting -- though he likely won't be stage managing ever again (hats off to the Stage Managers out there). He is particularly proud of the award-winning short plays he's written, and is very excited to unleash his first full-length play Inside Man to the world in 2021. Randy enjoys performing improv, especially since Southern Maine has so many talented improvisers to work with, and he is a proud member of the ComedySportz Maine improv team. Randy also hosts and cohosts various podcasts. We All Have a Story highlights the stories of the people around us for which we may not otherwise hear their stories (Headmaster Bob was the guest in Episode 2!), DeScripted, where he and his cohost Tyler Costigan take a closer look at the plays that have won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama since it was first awarded in 1918. He is also the cohost of Balderdash Academy’s Head to Head: Competitive Trivia with Coach Steve.
Randy is thrilled to be an occasional visiting professor on Balderdash Academy when one of the other professors calls in sick and a full-time faculty member of the Teacher’s Lounge podcast, and cohost of Head to Head: Competitive Trivia.
