Meet the candidates in the US (Upper School) Election. Uma, Roland and Micah have made it through the primary & will face off in the General Election. Today, you'll hear from them as they present their platforms and answer some tough questions. We also chat with Doug and Saara about the project and how we're approaching the National Election as a school and educational institution.

Welcome to Summer Break 2020! In today's episode, we reflect on the end of the school year with Jed and Doug, discuss communication plans for the summer and the process that will lead us to a safe opening day of school in the Fall of 2020.

Monday Memo June 9
As we approach the end of the school year, we want to appreciate and honor our 8th Graders moving on. And considering the world into which they are moving, the Bank Street values of social and racial justice are as important as ever.
In this episode, Saara Mahjouri and Jed discuss and highlight the student activism that is a part of the global protests against brutality, racism and injustice. We also discuss the week ahead and the ceremonies and new activities to honor, celebrate and graduate the class of 2020.
Wednesday at 3:00pm the Graduation Ceremony will be livestreamed. Links to come.

Shael, Doug and Jed follow up on the two Town Halls from last week by answering the questions that were submitted but unanswered.
Also, BankStreet Connects this week will be a community forum to come together and explore how to communicate with our kids about the major social and racial justice issues at the core of current events. The forum will be at 7pm Tuesday June 2.

We dive into Social Emotional Learning this week with Laura, Laurie, Gabby and Jed.
Big topics include the complicated dynamics of everyone being home together all the time and trying to learn, trying to work, trying to teach and trying to parent. We get some specific advice on action and regulation. And how Restorative Practices is woven into it all. There's also flying Stuffies.
Plus a check in on this week's BankStreet Connects Tuesday at 4:30PM ET with Adam Brown, clinical psychologist and parent and husband, on dealing with STRESS right now.

We talk with 13/14s Humanities Teachers Ali Mckersie and Jo Stein and 13/14s students Melany and Millie about what the Quarantine Diaries are, how they came to be, and what type of creative projects are being made. We get to hear some exceptional examples of the work directly from Melany and Millie.
