Life as a mature student.
Listen to Ellie and Claire from the saltsoc committee and Ashley and Beth talk about life as a mature SLT student at BCU. We talk about how much we love speech and language therapy, what have been the good and bad things about being a mature student, and what has helped us.
Placement Special
All of the committee have recently been on placement or are mid placement, so here are a few of our experiences on placement, some of the things we learnt, and a couple ideas of what you most need in your toolkit.
Wellbeing and Resilience especially around placement and starting new jobs
Today's placement includes some discussion around what is resilience and how do we have more of it, as well as tips to help you face placement and a new job as an NQP. The link mentioned in the podcast for a 5 minute video around ACEs is https://youtu.be/VMpIi-4CZK0.
International Stammering Awareness Day Special.
This is my favourite episode yet! I had the honour of interviewing Jasjot about his experience as someone who has a stammer, and he shares his negative experiences and challenges, his achievements and his advice for those who stammer or know someone who does. This is a MUST listen if you work with people, some of whom will have a stammer, or if you know children or adults who stammer.
Meet an NQP
This month we chat with Darcy, Keira and Michael about their university experience, finding a job, and first year as an NQP.
