Jeff and Pat demonstrate a wealth of knowledge on a wider range of topics, including: movies, video games, and movies based on video games. Also, lawn care tips to avoid running afoul of leprechaun curses!

Pat and Jeff are getting into a beast of a film this week, with the longest entry into their review list to date: the beloved classic Japanese picture, Seven Samurai. They try using their newfound film expertise to figure out how to make it shorter. They fail.

Tish sticks around for a discussion about bad Marvel movies, good Star Trek, and what little they know about the writers' strike. Also, Tish gives Pat a crash course in the world of General Hospital.

While Jeff is off on another totally real adventure, Pat sits down with returning guest Tish MacWebber to talk about the craft of writing a novel in a month, and the at of creating the perfect book cover. They also review that movie your annoying English teacher made you watch during class that one time, Dead Poets Society.

Jeff and Pat are welcoming back Josh, the war movie expert, to talk about the ambitious war film about an ambitious battle operation, A Bridge Too Far! They rave about the star-studded cast and complain about the lack of English subtitles - were we supposed to understand what those Nazi officers were saying?? - While Josh balances out his expertise in military history by being mostly oblivious about Star Wars.

This episode is essentially a Nick Cage PSA about all that is Nick Cage. But wait, there is more! Pat and Jeff have recollections of a hazy period that seemed like it happened a long long time ago... And Pat is a Vampire.

Jeff and Pat are back in th 50s this week to check out some high school vehicular homicide in Rebel Without a Cause. They discover that when your grandparents reminisce about a "simpler time", they're apparently talking about a time when it wasn't considered bullying unless there was a knife fight? It was a weird decade and your grandparents are weird people.

Pat and Jeff slowly begin to accept the fact that people just do not go to the movies like they used to.

This week Jeff and Pat are going back to get seduced by an all-time classic film: the 1967 coming-of-age comedy, The Graduate! Also they practice some cancelled impressions, play a new game called "Spot the Parody", and this movie turns one of the BBO team into a boomer apologist.

Pat and Jeff discuss the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It's the oldest film they have done so far on the podcast. Enjoy.

Welcome to the second annual Belated Box Oscars! Awards season is upon us once again, and Jeff and Pat are celebrating by doing what they do best - sharing their uninformed opinions that nobody asked for.

In keeping with tradition, the boys will judge a bunch of films they haven't seen while filling in an Oscars prediction ballot for the 2023 Academy Awards. Also, a wager is made that threatens to affect the entire future of the podcast... Just kidding, that was last year. We settled on beer... Enjoy!

Jeff and Pat go on a good old-fashioned rant about the changes to Netflix's sharing policy, which devolves into a good old-fashioned rant about the impact of mass media accessibility on the public's moviegoing habits. It's much less intellectual than it sounds.

The boys are taking a trip into Arthurian legend this week with a review of John Boorman's 1981 epic, Excalibur. Jeff continues to mispronounce the name of the Cannes Film Festival, while Pat stays true to character and won't shut up about Dungeons & Dragons.

For the first episode of 2023, Jeff and Pat are back in the world of Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns to talk about Once Upon a Time in the West. It's a timeless genre-defining masterpiece from a legendary filmmaker, and its brilliance is totally lost on our hosts, who - let's not forget - are total amateurs who don't know what they're talking about.

Welcome to a very festive Belated Box Office, where they boys are reviewing a Christmas classic. the 1983 family Christmas comedy, A Christmas Story!  

Jeff and Pat are joined by Karen to continue what is apparently a tradition of Schwarzenegger films in December. They rate and review the 1987 action-packed coke fest, Predator! And also try to guess how many squirrels they could beat in a fight.

During another one of Jeff's adventures away from the podcast, Pat brings in a new guest to cover for him. Together, they get very judgemental and condescending toward one of the greatest filmmakers of our time. It's a review of Martin Scorcese's 2010 thriller, Shutter Island!

This week Jeff and Pat are talking about Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves! It's a gritty reboot that predates the golden age of gritty reboots, starring the incredibly miscast, not-a-cartoon-fox, Kevin Costner.

This week's movie is Paranorman, a 2012 animated zombie comedy.  Jeff and Pat talk about the enjoyment they got from the movie's lighthearted approach to lampooning B horror movies, and Jeff's son gets mad at them for talking trash about Frozen.

Jeff and Pat are still on summer break after season two, but they got the urge to get back behind the microphone and shake off the cobwebs, so get ready for nothing but trailer reactions in a special summer bonus episode! It's the final After Hours episode of season 2, so Jeff and Pat talk about what they plan on watching during their summer break. Then, Pat stumps Jeff with a question about the best "movie within a movie".

For the final movie review of season 2, Jeff and Pat are talking about Outlaw King, a war/drama period piece surrounding Scotland's First War of Independence. It's a film that might be considered a sort of unofficial "spiritual sequel" to Braveheart. That, or a pale imitation, depending on which BBO host you ask.

This week, Jeff and Pat joined Tish MacWebber to stream a live wine review. They test how the Grinder Pinotage holds up to the BBO 3.5 star review system. They also discuss creative alternatives to corkscrews, Bryce Dallas Howard's poor choice of running shoes, and complain about their emotionally unavailable pets.

This week, Jeff is out supporting Big Pollution's plan to destroy childrens' dreams, so Pat has brought in a guest to help him with a review of the 2001 biopic, A Beatiful Mind. Author/designer/Tishspiration expert Tish MacWebber joins the pod to talk about what she looks for in a book-to-movie adapation, and to make fun of Jennifer Connelly's old lady makeup.

After the Rogue One episode, Jeff and Pat still had some gas left in the Star Wars tank, so they dove into a look at some of the franchise's many video games. They discuss everything from Rogue Squadron, to Jedi: Fallen Order - and, of course, what conversation about Star Wars games would be complete without a reading of the most downvoted comment in Reddit history?

May the Fourth be with you! It's the first week of May, and Star Wars Day is upon us. This week, Jeff and Pat are getting in the spirit with a review of Rogue One. This movie has it all: a great story full of compelling characters, a bunch of X-wings and TIE fighters getting wasted, and Alan Tudyk being a sarcastic jerk.

The boys didn't have anything special carved out for this week's After Hours episode, so they just shoot the breeze about some of their favorite franchises - Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, and The Walking Dead.

Jeff and Pat are crossing off a long overdue entry on their list this week, as they finally get around to talking about the buddy cop movie to top them all: 1987's Lethal Weapon. Why isn't this movie hotly debated as a Christmas movie as much as Die Hard? Does going on a murder spree really cure you of suicidal thoughts? And who the hell takes a bath in the morning to get ready for work? That's what showers are for, Danny.

This episode, Jeff puts on his nostalgia glasses and Pat dusts off his terrible George Lucas impression, as they talk about the 1988 fantasy adventure, Willow. An unsurprising amount of Dungeons and Dragons references ensue.

Jeff and Pat are reunited this week, and getting back into the swing of things by talking about Terry Gilliam's mind-bending time travel thriller, 12 Monkeys. Jeff has a good time with the film's many twists and turns, while Pat - as usual - just gets confused at how time travel works.

Pat and Josh rank Saving Private Ryan characters, and war films in general.
