First: THE ALBUM IS NOW OUT! So the minute you finish this episode go stream it, heart it, save it, playlist it or, even better, buy it it wherever you like to get your music. If you’ve already done all of those things then please consider leaving a review on iTunes or Amazon music. Every little bit counts! I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of the record. Listen now: https://li.sten.to/RcPMjcu
Second: Every week since the pandemic locked us down in early March my housemates & I have been bringing joy & mayhem in the form of a show we call “Heathen Happy Hour”. It's about 90 minutes of cover songs by request, rapid fire conversation in the style of the Gilmore Girls, & hilarity (at least we think so). Tune in to our Facebook page (facebook.com/heathenpodcast) at 7pm Pacific, thats 10pm for American East Coasters, & 12pm for Australian East Coasters. Can’t wait to see you in the comments!
Lastly this album (& the podcast) is made possible by the generosity of my patrons (or the drinking buddies as I refer to them affectionately). For the price of a pint, or even renting Mulan, every month you too can be part of the community that supports my art. Patronage is a way that artists have made their living throughout the centuries. Back in the dark a minstrel was not selling T shirts or CDs to get by, is anyone really buying CDs anymore? So join the revolution & help me release music. Over the past 2 years I’ve released a song about every other month & my patrons get access to demos, live music & more. You can head to my website thats bengracemusic.com & click on the Patreon link. Thanks in advance for your generosity.
Episode 1: Intro
Hey folks.
Welcome to “As If Words could heal the wounds”, a podcast where we dive into the stories behind the songs of my first full length album.
I’m Ben Grace, an Aussie singer songwriter who has been messing up Americana since 2011.
Together with my friend & patron Chris Roberts we’ll discuss al 10 songs on the record & feature cameos from some of the people who influenced & helped make this record.
Just a few notes before we get started.
First: The album comes out on Friday 4 September. I know that’s only a few days away but it would really help me if you PRE SAVED the album ahead of time so that it shows up in your release radar right on time. The Spotify gods will be pleased with me & perhaps even the Algorithm will shine its face on me & I will be blessed. No but seriously, every follow & pre save on Spotify counts so please take a second to head to https://show.co/9l5aUAG. As a token of my appreciation for pre-saving you’ll get to hear the first song on the record “A thousand times” ahead of everyone else so thanks for taking the time to pre-save my album!
Second: Every week since the pandemic locked us down in early March my housemates & I have been bringing joy & mayhem in the form of a show we call “Heathen Happy Hour”. Its about 90 minutes of cover songs by request, Gilmore Girls-esque rapid fire conversation, & hilarity (at least we think so). This week we are playing my album from start to finish live! So tune in to facebook.com/bengracemusic at 7pm Pacific, thats 10pm for American East Coasters, & 12pm for Australian East Coasters. Can’t wait to see you in the comments!
