How do you wrap up your podcast season?
BetaHaus.Life S1E16 - Summaries | Vision | Looking Ahead
Let's look back at the first season of the BetaHaus.Life Podcast. The whole point of this first season was take a look at the start of the business, and to include the stories of other people who have experienced similar shifts, changes or transitions that would shed a brighter light on the different topics we covered. We Aldo know & believe that -you- have something to say, and that you must then -choose- to be heard.

Tim Captain & Relocating Well: Stories to Stretch You
BetaHaus.Life S1 E15 - Location | Relocation | Changing Cultures
Welcome back ! You’re diving right into another amazing edition of the BetaHaus.Life podcast! Today’s guest is our friend Tim Captian. Tim is the pastor of First Christian Church in National City, just south of downtown San Diego. Over the course of his life, Tim Captain has moved many, many times. When people ask him where he’s from, Tim often says “around” because it’s kind of hard to pin down what “home” may have been.
It’s a common thing in San Diego, because there are so many transplants here, to ask people where they’re from before you ask them what they do. Tim was born in Indiana, grew up in Zimbabwe for 8 years, then back to Indiana, off to Hawaii, back to Indiana, then on to Ohio, after college he moved to Annapolis, Maryland and then finally here in San Diego for the last 7 years. Ben did that math and Tim’s moving distance alone comes to about 28,000 miles over the course of his life.

Cassandra Altmann & locations from another point of view: Stories to Stretch You
BetaHaus.Life S1 E14 - Location | Business | Culture
Welcome back to yet another installment of BetaHaus.Life! We are thrilled to have Cassandra Altmann in the studio today. Cassandra was the very first person we met when we moved to San Diego. She and her mom are both from here, and as we’ve found out, it’s not unusual to find that many people you meet here are transplants from somewhere else in the world.
But Cassandra has an ownership and a viewpoint on San Diego that has birthed a passion for the city in her. As a Real Estate Agent, she has a vested interest in seeing the city do well, and she loves watching people come to love the city the way she does.
As ElizaBeth, our Founder & CEO, talks with Cassandra today, think about the different areas of your city, your cultural context and the impact that does have, and can have on your business, organization & personal routines.

Stories to Stretch You: Nik Marie & Planning to Win
Planning | Preparation | Fun
In today's episode, we talk with special guest, Nik Marie. Nik heads up Nik PR Botique and partners in Epic Mastermind Experience, both awesome opportunities for growing your business, network and personal brand. Our topic today is "Focus vs. Flexibility" as viewwed through Nik's personal expereince on "Let's Make a Deal" with Wayne Brady.
Flexibility isn’t always fun. Developing focus can take a lot of work. In the end, you wind up reaping better results from digging in rather than simply ‘playing it safe.’ It may not mean hugging Wayne Brady & a trip to New York, but you will gain a lot from simply stepping out. ElizaBeth & Benjamin discuss focus & flexibility while we listen to Nik's story.

Stories to Stretch You: Rand Booth & Smoking the Competition
Innovation | Career Changes | Fun at Work
In today's episode, we talk with Rand Booth. Rand has been a professional chef for over 18 years in New York, Boston, San Francisco & San Diego. After over 300,000 hours on his feet in kitchens, Rand made a bold choice & decided to shift lanes. Using his love for smoking foods, Rand has set out to do something that no one else is doing, to smoke coffee. We do live in California, but when we say "smoke coffee" we mean using wood smoke in the roasting process. It was this drive for creativity and a unique vision that led us to want a deeper conversation with Rand when we met him a few weeks ago at the Ocean Beach Farmer's Market.

Transitions | Big Moves | Changes
In today's episode, we tell the story of our cross-country move & what impact that had on getting Beta Haus started & off the ground. Every business has people behind it, so each of our stories are super important in shaping every aspect of what we do. Our Griswolding across America was definitely an adventure, but leaving everything we've ever known behind was almost like starting completely over.
That reality was very important in the beginning of Beta Haus Studio.
