Welcome to My Country with Aaron Haji-Ali

Mazenod  continues to celebrate NAIDOC 2021 and provide opportunities for students to learn about and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and knowledge. Join Aboriginal Teaching Assistant Aaron Haji-Ali  who is of Yawuru people, traditional owners of the lands and waters in and around Rubibi (the town of Broome) from Bangarangara to the yalimban (south) to Wirrjinmirr (Willie Creek) to the guniyan (north), and banu (east) covering Roebuck Plains and Thangoo pastoral leases, in the Kimberley region of northern Western Australia. Aaron discusses his experiences of his time in secondary schooling, how he works and supports Mazenod's Aboriginal students as well as his hopes for Aboriginal students and their education.
