As Mazenod celebrates Aboriginal Education and NAIDOC 2021, Stephen speaks openly and honestly about  Country, his time at Mazenod, life at home and the challenges that he faces away from Country. Come and  explore Aboriginal culture, particularly hunting, totems, languages groups and Country through Stephen's eyes and experiences. To listen to Stephen is to learn about his people and his role in continuing his culture and traditions. 

Principal of Mazenod, Andrew Watson talks through what it means to lead a culturally diverse college. Andrew discusses the development of his own understanding of  Aboriginal history, culture and community, whilst highlighting the key partnership between Mazenod’s Aboriginal families and the wider community.

As Mazenod continues to celebrate NAIDOC 2021, Aboriginal Education Officer and Head of Year 10 Brad Gardner speaks about how the College supports students who come to Mazenod from Country, and how the College aims to provide outstanding Aboriginal education, through student voice and agency. 

Mazenod  continues to celebrate NAIDOC 2021 and provide opportunities for students to learn about and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and knowledge. Join Aboriginal Teaching Assistant Aaron Haji-Ali  who is of Yawuru people, traditional owners of the lands and waters in and around Rubibi (the town of Broome) from Bangarangara to the yalimban (south) to Wirrjinmirr (Willie Creek) to the guniyan (north), and banu (east) covering Roebuck Plains and Thangoo pastoral leases, in the Kimberley region of northern Western Australia. Aaron discusses his experiences of his time in secondary schooling, how he works and supports Mazenod's Aboriginal students as well as his hopes for Aboriginal students and their education. 

As Mazenod celebrates NAIDOC 2021, Larz speaks openly and honestly about NAIDOC, Country, his time at Mazenod and life at home. Come and  explore Aboriginal culture, particularly ceremonial dance and Country through Larz's eyes and experiences. Enjoy listening as this young man gives his own voice to his story and the stories of his ancestors, the world's oldest continuous living culture.
