They share their perspectives on how the world has improved since #MeToo and next steps in combating workplace harassment. For them, it’s all about getting every type of person out there involved in the fight. Let’s do that - share this and our resources (link) around and make sure that no one has to fight sexual harassment in the workplace alone, or at all. Ilana Giannini worked as a writer on the film industry for 20 years and now she is the Group Therapies Program Director at Wright Institute Los Angeles. Ilana shares her own struggles in the film industry as a victim of sexual harassment. As a therapist, she identifies common emotional difficulties related to workplace harassment and ways we can overcome them. Why we’re doing the company a service by reporting
In this episode we meet with civil rights lawyer, Jean Hyams, to discuss victim, company, and agressor rights. As she walks us through the internal company and legal reporting processes, Attorney Hyams drives home the reality of potential retaliation or continued harassment, but also shares that such reactions are completely illegal, and most of the time, easier to litigate against than sexual harassment itself.
How can the workplace “Fresh Meat” identify and call out inappropriate behavior?
In what ways are university students more susceptible to become victims or to unconsciously commit sexual harassment in the workplace? We are psyched to introduce former lawyer and broadcaster and current author Adrienne Lawrence into this episode to tell us workplace newbies what we can expect, and how to face it head-on. For her, there is nothing more important than listening to your instincts and following through.
