This episode 48 of Blackanese Chick has Rhett Thompson talking about rainy season in Miami and Ma's recently close-to-being-accurately diagnosed cancer. Finding out fellow Miami comedian Julie Baez is opening for Tiffany Haddish next week at Miami's Olympia Theatre, and how proud, happy, and other feels about it. Rhett started performing stand up comedy in New York City but feels she first felt sexism from male comics when she relocated to South Florida. How it feels to be made to feel there's only room for one female comic at the table -- what she knows now that she wishes she knew back then. The advice she got from Todd Montesi that she wish she took. The incident at John Morrison's open mic at The Village Lantern that forever stayed with her. What she learned from her stint with Miami's Just The Funny Improv troupe.

Episode 47 Jolt Radio Miami to Black Japanese Parents
This episode of Blackanese Chick has Rhett Thompson headed to her guest appearance on the debut of Miami Jolt Radio's "Funny In Pink" show hosted by comedian Julie Baez. Rhett hates driving and planned the perfect Metrorail commute to Wynwood, the artisty design district. The show had fellow guest Linda Rodriguez of Mission Lotus Life. Rhett took a detour on the way home due to a reselling shipment on Mercari and learned something new about shipping with FedEx. Rhett then went to the Very Very Beginning of her family history, the Black side from Akron, Ohio, and the Japanese side from Tokyo, Japan. Then her mouth got super dry from not bringing spare liquids on the road. It happens.
