On this week's episode and the 3rd edition of the Black Guy July series, I sat down with educator, social activist, and culture curator, Gerald Harris. Gerald, a native of Little Rock, AR, is the Senior Director of Campus and Student Engagement for Duke Alumni Affairs at Duke University. He is also a son, brother, uncle, husband and co-creator of Tall Grass Food Box. During our talk, we discuss higher education, Black culture, family, food, music, and most importantly, how mentorship shows up in all of those spaces.

On this week's episode, I share how I've been doing over the last week, talk about a Facebook Live Town Hall that focused in on trauma in the Black community, and shared my experience being featured and interviewed on another podcast. I also sat down with #BGMentor IRL Terri Miller - military spouse, mother, and educator, currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan. She talks about navigating major life decisions, adjusting to a life that she didn't expect, reconciling her career ambition with personal goals and demands, and how she strives to be a role model and support to her girls and other military wives.
