THE FIR TRIO & KANIMBLA STRING QUARTET - LIVEatheGALLERY
Heads up! It’ll be Mother’s Day, so bring your mum if you want to be her favourite child.
THE FIR TRIO – Built around Kristina Frazer’s beautiful voice, the Fir Trio features an eclectic repertoire, loosely billed as jazz. Swing standards, blues, contemporary songs and originals all have found their way into the trio’s repertoire. Kristina and her gorgeous voice lead veteran sidemen Andrew Ireland (double bass, voice) and Andrew Russell (guitar, voice) through their varied repertoire.
Their vocal harmonies are an outstanding feature of the group and their musical sense of humour infuses every performance.
On Blue Mountains Live March 18 on RBM, ‘Misty Mountain Accord’, which is a folk duo comprised of local musicians Ellie Peterson and Gaines Post, were in the studio playing live and talking about their first-ever gig at ‘On the Soul Side Café’ in the old Hotel Gearin in Katoomba, Sunday 12-1 pm. This marks an exciting return to live music at the Gearin presented by cafe owner Dave Griffiths.

Blue Mountains Live highlights holiday inspired songs by local Blue Mountains performers on this special Christmas Eve show. After the success of streaming music this year and the joy of having local musicians join us in our living rooms I thought it would be nice to continue this trend on Christmas Eve. This idea became a reality only through the extreme generosity of the local performers who threw themselves into it with a very short time to send me their favourite and original tunes over the last two weeks before Christmas. Hear what they came up with on this episode wich includes performances from Jason Thornton and Andie (Dee), CJ Stranger, Alastair McConnachie (The Blindfolds), Gavin Bowles, Jimmi Carr, Simon Watts, TDB, Skye Evans, Linda Mizzi, Peter Long, Gillian and Eliot (Sideshow Annie), Richard 'The Duck' Keegan and Crow Mountain.
