38. Mari Pablo: Celebrating Easter & Knowing Jesus
Jackie talks with friend Mari Pablo about her journey in ministry, why Easter needs to be celebrated for more than one day, and having a relationship with Jesus.
Mari Pablo is a proud Hispanic and cradle Catholic whose life was wrecked in the best possible way when she finally decided to stop fighting and surrender it all to Him. She holds bachelor's degrees in theology and psychology from Franciscan University of Steubenville, as well as a master’s degree in theology from the Augustine Institute. Mari has worked in youth ministry for over fifteen years, both as a youth minister and as a Catholic high school theology teacher. She is currently serving parishes and universities across the country with The Evangelical Catholic. Mari is well known for her dynamic presentations at the annual Steubenville Youth Conferences and other national outlets.
Mari is a presenter in several Ascension Press programs including YOU- Theology of the Body for teens, Chosen, Ascension Presents and Connected- Catholic Social Teaching for this generation. Her mission is simple, to encourage others to refuse to settle for the things of this world, but rather to strive for more, to strive for Him.

37. Dr. Bryan Violette: Catholic Psychology and Connecting with Culture
Bobby talks with Dr. Bryan Violette about his faith story, psychology and culture, and his new endeavor of hosting "the Catholic Sinner Show." While studying moral theology at Holy Apostles College and Seminary in Cromwell, CT, Dr. Violette volunteered in local impoverished areas and learned firsthand how devastating mental illness can be to family life. This impassioned him to attend to the growing need for professional mental health care from a Catholic standpoint and to pursue advanced studies in clinical psychology at the Institute for the Psychological Sciences at Divine Mercy University. Dr. Violette began working at the CatholicPsych Institute(https://catholicpsych.com/) in 2015. He now works as the Chief of Staff. He contributed to the development of a new model for providing direct services: Integrated Daily Dialogic Mentorship (IDDM). Given the success of the model, it was only natural to begin training others. Thus, Dr. Violette contributed to the development of the CatholicPsych Model of Applied Personalism program, in which he currently maintains the role of both Training Director and Dean of Students. Dr. Violette is also the creator of the “Catholic Sinner Show”(https://www.youtube.com/@CathSinnerShow) which provides a welcoming space for individuals from different walks of life to engage in conversation from a variety of faith, political and cultural perspectives. Informed by John Paul II’s teachings, she went on to work as a style editor in New York City before ultimately landing at the Catholic fashion label Litany NYC. Lillian currently resides in Pennsylvania with her orange tabby cat, Tito.

2. Nick Dellasega: A Miracle of Fr. Kapaun
Nick Dellasega should have died on May 7th, 2011, at the age of twenty-six.
During a 5k race, he collapsed and his heart stopped beating. A teenage cousin prayed fervently at Nick's side, asking particularly for the intercession of Fr. Emil Kapaun, the Kansas-native, Korean-war chaplain. Barely making it to a hospital in time, Nick should have been brain-dead or beyond resuscitation when his pulse restarted. His miraculous case is now being considered by the Vatican for the canonization cause for Fr. Kapaun.
Nick shares his amazing story with Jackie and the lessons learned in this episode!
For more information on the life and miracles of Fr. Emil Kapaun, check out the official website: https://frkapaun.org/
