Matt and I had a great conversation about his journey into brewing. At the beginning, he started home brewing and then slowly began to tinker with a recipe for years, which is now his Flag ship beer “Melody Maker”.

Melody Maker is named after Matt’s daughter Melody, who unfortunately passed away. He worked on this recipe for many years and perfected it to honor his daughter. Matt wanted to created a profound legacy for her, and did so by creating a fantastic beer. Proceeds of this beer go to @resolvenewengland, a non profit organization supporting families dealing with infertility. Matt is so dedicated to his craft and I cannot wait to see what is in store next for Wandering Soul!

Frosty Boi Fridays Episode 8: Small Change Owner - Brought to you by Proof Somerville

On todays Episode of Frosty Boi Friday, I welcome on a very special guest Mike Patterson, who is the Owner of Small Change Brewing (@smallchangebeer) in Cambridge, MA. Today we got to review "If You're Ready", a New England IPA brewed by them.#frostyboifriday

Small Change If You're Ready NEIPA

ABV: 6.5%

Hops: Citra & Mosaic

Color: Hazy Yellow

Our Rating:

- Me 8.7/10

- Matt 8/10

Shotgun Rating:

-Me: 10/10 - Perfect

Mike and I dove into his background on how he started Small Change. Like most people who own breweries, Mike spent plenty of time working for different places, including@mysticbrewery&@nightshiftbrewing; and he home brewed as well. After doing this he realized he needed a change. That change was Small Change! Based in Cambridge MA, you can really find Small Change anywhere, including all over MA in liquor stores. From Mike driving around in his mini van, to now having an incredible distribution channel with@nightshiftdistro; they have scaled up to the point where their small operations has grown big enough that it's time to talk TAP ROOM!!!. Yes... I said Tap Room. Mike mentioned that hopefully a year form now or sooner, they will have a taproom that everyone can enjoy their great beer in.

Overall it was an amazing review and I want to thank Mike for letting this happen!

Frosty Boi Friday Episode 7: Blind Taste Test (Yes this won't be the best podcast episode sorry not sorry)

Frosty Boi Friday Episode 7: Blind Taste Test (Yes this won't be the best podcast episode sorry not sorry)

Well its clear….. I should stick with craft beer. On todays episode of Frosty Boi Friday, I blindly taste 5 light beers and see if I can guess which one is which.

Before people start hating this is WAY harder than expected. I thought I was going to go 5/5 but turns out I am not as good at this as I thought. I have a feeling that we attribute taste with what we see on the can. When doing this blindly, it becomes 10x harder to decipher which is Natty and which is Coors.

My helpers were as shocked as I was, so I put their taste buds to the test. After we recorded this I had them each try and guess 3 beers blindfolded to prove to them just really how hard this was. And guess what? They couldn’t do it either.

Happy Friday and Stay Frosty

Frosty Boi Fridays Episode 5: Aeronauts Assistant Brewer Matt Cote

Frosty Boi Fridays Episode 5: Aeronauts Assistant Brewer Matt Cote

On todays Episode of Frosty Boi Fridays, I welcome on very special guest Matt Cote, who is an Assistant Brewer at Aeronaut Brewing in Somerville MA. Today, we got to review "Access Road" a New England IPA brewed by Aeronaut.

Matt and I dive into his life within the industry and I ask him some hard hitting questions. We go over his favorite things to drink, the new Aeronaut tap room in Everette opening up soon, some of the current issues going on, and how breweries are banding together to raise awareness.

Aeronaut, located in Somerville, has been a game changer in the craft beer industry. From their all inclusive environment, live music, and A+ beers, they are a must see place in MA. Not only that, they have a an amazing Venezuelan cuisine vender, Carolicious, which serves up top notch Arepas. As they are growing rapidly, they are brewing more beers than you can shake a stick at. In fact, they have decided to make the move to opening up a 2nd location in Everett MA, which I personally am very excited to go to.

Overall it was an amazing review and I want to thank Matt as well as Aeronaut for letting this happen!

Frosty Boi Fridays Episode 1: Aeronaut Brewing

Frosty Boi Fridays Episode 1: Aeronaut Brewing

Okay so this was my first ever live review. A few things to correct. I know Will and Jake will give me shit for this but the blog is called House Enterprise not "Enterprise House". I would have restarted the video but I didn't realize till the end and I couldn't go back. If you have suggestions send me a DM on IG: @boston_beers.

Frosty Boi Fridays is a tradition I would do over snapchat where at 5PM on Friday I would send people a video of me getting HYPED for the weekend. I have adapted the fun part of it and now turned into a live beer review. Going forward, I will be having guest beer reviewers on some Fridays joining me to talk beer and see who can shotgun faster. I think of the shotgun as a nice palette cleanser before sinking my tastebuds into a nice and juicy IPA.

For the first ever episode I chose Aeronaut "Double Citra Galaxy". Now I am a huge fan of galaxy hops. As I found out about the release, I jumped out of my seat to get it. I think this is one of the better NEIPA's that they have released. Galaxy and Citra hops are always known for making super juicy and hazy IPA's. Good job Aeronaut!

ABV: 8%

Hops: Galaxy & Citra

Color: Like Orange Juice

Ranking: 8.52/10

Overall I did really enjoy this beer and as I am moving to Somerville in the next few weeks, I cannot wait to visit the tap room often.

Cheers and have a great weekend,

The Boston Beer Guy
