In today's episode, we are exploring the myths of the advice that everybody and every business should niche down. But, are we limiting our growth, and our potential by niching down? Or is it a strategy to create a unique identity and value in an overly crowded world?
Let's find out together.
Why PERFECTION is a bad thing
🧠 I don't know why but for some reason everybody wants to be perfect.⚡️
Why? I have some ideas why. Let's jump right into it.
This is the first episode of this podcast that I’m releasing as a youtube video!
Technology, Relationships, Social Media - My Predictions for this year.
🧠 What are your predictions for this year?⚡️
Making predictions about the future is hard: Nobody could have predicted last year's events and that we are currently going through a global pandemic.
However I do believe that it's worth to think about what is likely to happen in the future, because it helps challenge your own assumptions about how the world works.
In this episode I present my very own predictions for 2021 in the areas of work, private life, social media and consumer technology. I know we're already way into March, but I still thought it would be worthwhile to share my thoughts in this podcast.
I invite you of course to challenge my assumptions and predictions!

How I Deal With Competition
🧠 What can you learn from your competitors?⚡️
I recently got asked what my strategies are when dealing with competitors. When I started out with Senler Media I didn’t have the time to do a thorough market analysis. I had bills to pay, so I told myself I’ll focus on my work and worry about competition later.
I think the best thing you can do to remain competitive is to produce great and solid work. This is why competition is a good thing to me! I’m grateful to have competitors, the things they do inspire me, and they push me on to try new things.
For this episode I thought I’d tell you a couple of stories about how I approach working in the competitive environment of Social Media, and some of the competitive behaviours I’ve witnessed over the recent years.

Saying Goodbye
🧠 Have you ever had to say goodbye to someone?⚡
A couple of weeks ago I got into a heavy car accident. Two days later my mother calls me and tells me that a close family member is about to pass away.
That week had a profound impact on me. This episode is about what happened in that week and what I learned from it.
I'll be sharing some go-to advice for preventive measures that I really recommend everyone to put into practice some BEFORE anything like this ever happens to you.
If you've gone through something similar yourself maybe this episode helps you cope with what happened and serves as a gentle reminder once again that our time is precious and limited 🙏

Making time for yourself
🧠 How do you make time for yourself?⚡️
As a young entrepreneur I'm used to working hard and long hours. Even when I was reaching my limits there was this voice in my head telling me: "you can only make time for yourself, when the business has fully succeeded, not before!"
One night after another long day of work I suddenly realized that I was having a break-down and that things needed to change. In this episode I'll be sharing with you my very own Metin Senler approved suggestions on how to make time for yourself. Do take these with a pinch of salt. What really matters is the intention behind all of these things: Do it for yourself and yourself only!
Running a creative agency comes with many challenges. Among those is that it's hard to say no to clients. We want our clients to be happy. I want to ask you: Are you a people-pleaser? If yes, why? How does this show?

Taking a Break
🧠 How and when do you take breaks from work?⚡
Working in the creative industry comes with many challenges, and I love all of them. I've found that one of the hardest things is to actually take a step back from my work once in a while and just take a break.
In this episode I'll be exploring the different types of breaks I take, what I enjoy most about them and the benefits that I've noticed in my life since I started being more mindful about taking breaks from work.
Taking breaks is very much about taking time off for yourself. In the next episode I want to dive deeper into this topic and ask you: How do you make time for yourself? When is it easy to focus on yourself, when do you find it difficult?

Doing your own thing
🧠 What does "doing your own thing" mean to you?⚡
We've all heard it: "Just do your own thing!" or: "I've got to do my own thing now", or: "It's so great to see her doing her own thing." But what does this phrase mean?
In this episode I'll be looking at the different ways of "doing your own thing" in a business context and in private relationships. I'll be sharing some personal experiences I made along the way and how I realized that doing my own thing has allowed me to grow and redefine myself again and again over the years, without leaving me feeling like I've denied my previous beliefs.
With many projects and things happening at the moment, I had to force myself to take a break from work recently. For the next episode I want to focus on taking a break and how it helps me and everyone around me stay healthy in this crazy world. I'd love to hear from you: When do you notice that it's time for a break? What do you do then? How long do you take a break for?

Learning from uncertainties
🧠 How do you deal with uncertainties?⚡
Everyday I face countless uncertainties, challenges and problems. Some of these issues I can solve right away. More complex problems might take a little more time and work.
But then there are situations where I'm absolutely clueless on how to move forward. I'm thankful that I realized early on in my life that ignoring or running away from these issues doesn't solve anything, and that it's better to confront these feelings of uncertainty.
In this episode I'm sharing with you my tips on how I deal with uncertainties and how I ultimately learned to accept these feelings as normal part of my life.
In the next episode, I'll talk about the topic of "doing your own thing." For a lot of people, it seems the only way out from where there are. For others, it's just a nice phrase to say out loud. But what does actually "doing your own thing" mean to you?

Mastering Home Office as a Start-Up
🧠 How did home office work out for you?⚡
Everybody’s life has been impacted by the disruptions of the corona virus and the lockdown it brought.
I’ll be sharing the story of how the Senler Media team and I transitioned into home office, what worked well for us, what didn’t, and the changes we made to our working schedules now that the office is open again.
As a start-up working with bigger and well-established firms we also gained some valuable insight into how our clients went through the lock-down, the problems their employees faced, and how it affected their workload and life in general.
These last months have been full of uncertainties. As a follow up to this episode, I’ll be talking about the topic of uncertainty next week. I’m of course curious to learn from you: What do you do in uncertain situations? Do you talk to someone? Do you write it down? Do you confront the uncertainty? 👇 Send me your comments & messages!
