Episode 7 - Reaching Grandma and the Rest of the Family
It's Episode 7 (and for those counting at home, Episode ONE on the YouTube!) and we're giving you our biggest takeaways from Part Three of Nik Ripken's book, The Insanity of Obedience. In this episode, we discuss the barriers keeping us from sharing Jesus with those around us. We hope you will be challenged in the same way we were as we read. If you'd like to read along with us, buy Nik Ripken's book, The Insanity of Obedience. This book challenges us to take Jesus - His words and actions - seriously... like to actually obey and follow them... and to be transformed more into Him.

Episode 6 - A Preview for Season 2
For this episode, we wanted to take a detour from our normal format and discuss something that we are all passionate about: showing the next generation, Generation Z specifically, how to follow Jesus. Just like every generation before us, we can easily write off the younger generations and assume they are a lost cause. But what if we reached out to them and tried to understand them. Better yet, what if we listened to them, built relationships with them, and discipled them into maturity in Christ? That takes a lot of effort. It forces us to reevaluate ourselves, our own relationship with Christ, and the views of the world that we hold dearly.
Our goal for this episode is to begin the discussion and give practical ways to bridge the generational gap. We also want to devote an entire season to answering questions and discussing topics that you care about most. So send us your feedback. We're on Twitter and Facebook @PracticalPew.
Episode 5 - The Birth of Faith in Persecution Environments - Pt. 2
It's Episode 5 and we're giving you our biggest takeaways from Part Two of Nik Ripken's The Insanity of Obedience. In this episode, we discuss the things that are keeping Jesus from those around us. We hope you will be challenged in the same way we were as we read.

Episode 4 - The Birth of Faith in Persecution Environments - Pt. 1
It's Episode 4 and we're giving you our biggest takeaways from Part Two of Nik Ripken's The Insanity of Obedience. In this episode, we discuss evangelism, discipleship, and how even the church (yes, our churches) can contribute to persecution. We hope you will be challenged in the same way we were as we read.

Episode 3 - God’s Command and our Response to being His People on Mission - part 2
It's Episode 3 and we are still giving you our biggest takeaways from Part One of Nik Ripken's The Insanity of Obedience. This section of Ripken's book is long, but more than that, it is convicting. Ripken uses Scripture and stories from around the globe to challenge us and call us back to the heart and mission of God. It's this heart, the heart of God for the lost that we approach in this episode. We hope you will be challenged in the same way we were as we read.

Episode 2 - God’s Command and our Response to being His People on Mission
It's Episode 2 and we are giving you our biggest takeaways from Part One of Nik Ripken's The Insanity of Obedience. The heart, mission, and method of God are often shocking to us. The plain reading of Scripture shows us that God does the unexpected and works in ways that, frankly, make us uncomfortable. So why is this the case? Better yet, why do the things that we read about in the Bible seem so distant to us today? And better yet still, are we simply missing the work that God is doing today because we have neglected His commands for so long? We try to tackle all that and more in this episode.

Episode 1 - The Insanity of Obedience
In our first ever episode, we discuss the Introduction and first chapter of Nik Ripken's The Insanity of Obedience. Ripken's words are challenging, radical even, but if we are serious about following Jesus, then we must become uncomfortable and be willing to live as radicals. Hopefully, you'll discover with us what the "insanity of obedience" is all about.
