Moving Beyond Storage- Automating Data
I am joined by three storage industry leaders and veterans, to go in to detail around the Datera Data Platform. Flavio Santoni, who heads up Datera's Sales & Marketing teams takes us deeper in to the provocative blog, he has just written. Also joining are Bill Borsari, Datera's Head of System Engineering, and Glenn Miller, who heads up Software Product Management.

Bill Borsari, the Head of System Engineering at Datera joins me again. This time, we focus on a VMware product, vSAN, that does have some limitations. Bill discusses how HCI and SDS co-exist in modern data-centers, and where the lines of demarcation fall. HCI or dHCI or Infrastructure has become so prominent in large data centers, and where it fits in the broader technology landscape is still being defined.

HCI. The Good. The Limits. And, Storage Diversity.
Bill Borsari, the Head of System Engineering at Datera joins me again. This time, we explore why HCI, or Hyper-converged Infrastructure has become so prominent in large data centers, and where it fits in the broader technology landscape.

iSCSI vs. Fiber Channel in the Software Defined Data Center
Bill Borsari shares his experience as the head of Datera's System Engineering team, speaking with some of the largest IT customers on the planet. Brett Schechter, the Head of Datera's Technical Marketing team, asks him the hard questions! Many of our current customers made large investments in FC, and are comfortable using it with Tier 0 and Tier 1 workloads. Still, many of the Global 1000 are looking to deploy more flexible and composable Ethernet, and are hoping to understand the pros and cons as they begin to weave Ethernet (both L2 and L3), iSCSI, RDMA 1/2, and RoCE in to their data centers. iSCSI has improved dramatically over the past 15 years, with the iSCSI stack becoming much more efficient and reliable. NVMe-o-FC/TCP is also on the near term implementation horizon, and we explore where we feel this technology has advantages, and why the shift from iSCSI to NVMe-o-TCP, is a natural extension. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you would like more information, or to schedule a Proof Of Concept within your own data center.
