...And That's the Molar of the Story
In this episode of "Can You Handle the Tooth?" I sat down with Duquesne Women's Rowing Coach, Stephen Eckstein, and Duquesne rower, McGinley Jones. The discussion is about eating and how it affects performance levels, both cognitively and athletically. Both Coach Stephen and McGinley provide valuable insight about fueling yourself both athletically and for the work/school day. Although there is not as much dental talk as in the previous episode, eating remains very important for your oral health. Whatever your fueling yourself with can affect your teeth, especially if it is sticky/sugary and you do not brush your teeth regularly. Good foods to eat are calcium-rich foods (cheese, yogurt, milk, etc.), phosphorus foods (eggs, fish, meats, dairy, beans, and nuts), and Vitamin C (fruits, vegetables, tomatoes, potatoes, etc.). Also, remember to drink lots of water!
