Key Bible Verse:
Bible Verse: Key verses: Hebrews 11: 1-3
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."
My guests this week are husband and wife, Dan and Mandee O'Shaughnessy. Dan and Mandee met by happenstance, at their small church in Iowa in 2013. Dan originally thought Mandee was too young and she thought he was overly outgoing and a bit interesting. Mandee wasn’t looking for any type of relationship at the time and Dan was prayerfully cautious about pursuing anything more than a friendship. But, God had other plans and they were married a year later on April 26, 2014.
Getting married, moving halfway across the country, leaving their church and community behind, presented several unexpected challenges for them. To further complicate things, Dan had hidden a very dark and unknown addiction from Mandee, which slowly surfaced early on in the marriage. Mandee confronted him about finding some pornographic material on his phone, which he downplayed, and neither one of them knew how to deal with it properly. This addiction boiled under the surface for the next two and a half years, showing up here and there.
Finally, enough was enough for both of them, and Dan joined a sexual addiction group through his church.
Married life seemed to be getting better as Dan was appearing to get some clarity, but Mandee was still left feeling alone learning how to be married to a husband with a pornography addiction.
On a Sunday afternoon in July of 2018, Dan confronted Mandee with the most devastating news of her life. Mandee felt like her life hit rock bottom, with having no words to speak to describe the pain she felt, yet somehow there was a small light in the darkness. Through a lot of prayer, God placing a community in her life and with promises from Scripture, she found a new hope and strength in God. Through conviction and God’s love for Dan, he was able to turn his life around and break free of the sexual addictions that were holding him in bondage. Dan and Mandee now have a new found love and trust for each other. They also have a heart for other couples to fight for their marriage, in a culture that says it is easier to throw it away.

My guests this week are the husband-and-wife duo Out of the Dust is comprised of Chris and Stephanie Teague who have a story of downfall, heartbreak, and miraculous redemption that is woven deep into the fabric of their music. After growing up in church and marrying young, Chris slowly and quietly lost all faith in God during college. Slipping into the grips of alcohol, drugs and every other whim of his heart, he secretly managed an alter ego for years around church friends, family, and even Stephanie. Finally, everything surfaced one Thursday night in January 2010 as Stephanie’s life unraveled before her eyes. Their young marriage quickly collapsed in divorce as Chris walked away from everything he knew. What happened next can’t be called anything other than a miracle. His independence very rapidly found him in the darkest and most desperate place of his life, and it was there that he was shown the depth of his selfishness and pride. Incredibly, in just over a year, God mended their hearts, restored their marriage, and still continues to breathe new life into their story today.
God not only redeemed and resurrected their marriage, but He also gave them a new direction which they had never even dreamed about- music together with a purpose. The release of their debut album led them to perform and share their story all over the country, and they received extensive media coverage including Fox News, The 700 Club, and Family Life Today. They released their sophomore album, Now More Than Ever, on September 13th. The new project spans multiple genres and features guest appearances by Dove Award-winning artist Plumb and Christian Hip-Hop favorite, Tony Tillman. The album's sweeping orchestral arrangements sit side-by-side with imaginative pop production and showcase Chris and Stephanie's most personal and important work yet.

My guest this week is an author and speaker Stephanie Fast. Stephanie and her husband reside in Portland, Oregon, surrounded by their children and grandchildren.
Abandoned at a young age, Stephanie wandered the war-torn countryside of Korea. Due to her bi-racial ethnicity, she was abused and violated in every way. Finally, she was discarded and left to die in a garbage dump. A World Vision nurse miraculously rescued Stephanie and placed her in an orphanage.
Around the age of nine, a missionary couple came to her orphanage. Overlooking her physical and emotional state, they listened to the voice that spoke to their hearts. David & Judy Merwin, setting aside their desire to adopt a baby boy, obeyed that voice and adopted Stephanie.
Despite the lavish healing love, her adoptive parents poured into her, Stephanie's past tormented her throughout her teens. A profound personal encounter with Jesus Christ enabled her to exchange her pain with Him at the cross and see her identity and purpose in the light of God's love.
Stephanie has had the privilege to share with anyone who will listen. God has honored her with very diverse audiences. Over the past 30 years, her story and teaching have been on TV, radio, in magazines and other people's books. She recently wrote her first book; She Is Mine. She has been an Advocate for Orphans and Adoptees her whole Christian life, believing there is an orphan in each person without Jesus.; her childhood dream lived out in reality.

My guest today is Lagea Mull. Lagea is a passionate woman of Christ. Her mission statement is to inspire and encourage women to connect with Jesus so He can transform their lives.
As a pastor’s daughter & former military spouse, she learned early there is a need for women to be connected. Since her early 20’s she has served & participated in Women’s Ministry at the various churches she has attended. In her 30’s and early 40’s while her husband served in the Air Force she continued to serve in churches but expanded her reach into the military spouse community. She was appointed by unit leadership to act as the liaison between the commander and the families. She was subsequently elected to positions in the local base spouses club.
Even as God was granting her much success in the military spouse world with various awards & titles she knew this wasn’t where He ultimately wanted her. The time after her husband’s Air Force retirement she continued to actively seek His direction. The summer of 2016 He confirmed her calling to minister to women and also their family’s relocation to beautiful Sweet Home, Oregon. She is currently the part-time Office Manager for River of Life Fellowship in Sweet Home while attending & serving in Women’s Ministry at Hillside Fellowship in Sweet Home. In her free time, she loves introducing her husband to the wonders of Oregon, spending time with their adorable grandson, tracking down their five young adult children (& their spouses) who are scattered throughout the US and baking."
Lagea admits that she created chaos in her own life in her 20's and 30's through choices that she had made and even though those years were difficult God has so graciously taught her how to get out of the chaos and embrace the story He is writing for her

My guest this week is singer, songwriter, and author- Laura Story. Laura is also a wife and mom to four children and is a recent graduate with her doctorate in Worship studies.
Laura and her husband, Martin, faced a brain tumor, infertility, and a son’s birth defect. She realized that she’d been looking for a happiness that comes from circumstances, rather than a deeper joy that comes from God. Again and again, Laura had to surrender her vision for her life so she could embrace God’s vision. And again and again, she learned that even in the midst of shattered dreams, God’s plan brought greater joy than she could have imagined.
Laura's new book: I give up (the surrendered joy of a surrendered life)
My guest this week is Natalie Schulz. Natalie is a single mom and the Outreach and Missions Director at Life Bible Church in Harrisburg, Oregon. Her heart for reaching the broken began when she was a little girl and went on outreaches with her dad. The hopes and dreams of that little girl were shattered when she began being abused at a young age. It caused her to derail and live a masked life. Throughout her teen and young adult years, she endured addiction, an act of violence, and the loss of a baby. God had a plan and met Natalie in her brokenness. She regained her relationship and passion for the lost while she healed from the trauma and addiction that had crippled her during her time at Teen Challenge.
After Teen Challenge she built a successful business in cosmetology, finished her Bachelor’s degree from Oral Roberts University, and matured in her relationship with God. She’s seen God restore so much in her life. A few years back she waited on the Lord as He began to give her vision to cultivate an Outreach and Missions program at the church. Today, she leads and ministers to single moms, co-leads the Single Mom’s Conference, runs the Recovery Worship night as well as many other outreaches at Life Bible.
Her heart for the broken has extended to the world as she has had the opportunity to minister all over the world. Currently, she is preparing to go to Ethiopia in June with a team and will be ministering to women with HIV, children, and pastors. Natalie’s story is a reflection of God’s unfailing, unwavering and reckless love of God. The verse she has held onto that has given her hope is Isaiah 41:9-10, “I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, ‘You are my servant.’ For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”

Laurie has seen the Holy Spirit move individuals to weep as she sheds light on the darkness of shame by sharing the promises in God's Word.
Laurie also serves on the board of Mid Valley Women of Christ as acting President and she serves as the prayer coordinator and works on the communication team. This group of ladies reach around 3,000 women in the Mid-Valley yearly and help train up other women to lead Bible studies but also promote prayer and unity among churches.
Through Laurie's life story and experiences, she understands how the negative effects of shame can keep us isolated and stuck in our past. Over the last thirty years, she has been in hot pursuit of God to remove the layers of shame from her life and has seen Him replace it with His glory.
