Sipping Sovereign Tea

By Britt Dorazio

Join Britt Dorazio in conversation and practice with change-makers, disruptors, artists, healers, and visionaries, on what it means to be sovereign. How do we feel rooted in our own intuition in a sea of misguided messaging? How do we find our way back home to ourselves, the land, and each other?

Britt Dorazio is a multi-disciplinary artist, meditation guide, and social emotional arts facilitator. She is dedicated to creating spaces, experiences, and conversations where people can listen to each other, that are at the intersection of creative expression and inner space exploration.

Artur Kirillov: Truth & Contribution

Artur Kirillov: Truth & Contribution

Hello everyone! Today is a very special episode! I had the chance to sit and interview my incredible partner, Artur Kirillov. Artur is a mixed martial artist and trainer, tech enthusiast, philosophy analyst, and breath practitioner. He immigrated from Uzbekistan and grew up in Brooklyn, NY, which provided dynamic life experiences that have led him to a life of commitment to self improvement and service.

We cover lots of topics that make Artur, Artur. He provides really valuable perspectives around growing up in Uzbekistan, truth, expansion and contraction, intellectual dishonesty, coinciding realities, and service. I hope this episode provides some inquiry around how you engage with your own contribution to your reality and your community.

Please please rate and review this podcast!! It is so helpful.

Thank you for being here. BIG LOVE.

What to Look Forward to in Season 2!

What to Look Forward to in Season 2!

WELCOME FRIENDS to a new iteration of Sipping Sovereign Tea. In this episode I give a short description of what to look forward to in this season. I'm at the point in my life where I am trying to view the whole scope of things, humble myself, and come from a place of curiosity rather than judgement. In this season I will be interviewing people who I may not agree with, people who may have completely different views than me, and some people who I don't know personally. Ultimately.. I hope part of my contribution to this world is to help bring us closer to our intuition, build bridges with each other, and deepen our relationship with the land. As always, if you ever want to chat.. feel free to reach out!

PLEASE CONTINUE TO RATE, REVIEW, SUBSCRIBE, LIKE, AND SHARE!

BIG LOVE.

Wrap up of Season 1 & Calling our Energy Back Meditation

Wrap up of Season 1 & Calling our Energy Back Meditation

Hello beautiful friends! We have reached the final moment of this iteration of Sipping Sovereign Tea. I am in a very distinct moment of transition in my life and I want to give a transitional moment into the next phase of the podcast. We are about to move into more conversations and practices that may be a bit different. I'm curious to challenge myself to challenge myself and interview more people that embody the disruptor archetype. The intention of this podcast is to showcase a variety of different perspectives and ways to embody our own highest truths. That can look like so many things. I am excited to dive into this next phase!

In this episode we do a re-cap from all of the previous episodes and at the end there is a meditation focusing on calling our energy back. I know for me, I have given my energy and power away in many ways. I've been pulled out of myself more times than I can count. I want to offer this practice to anyone that feels like they need to shake off any debris that is not theirs and call back any energy that is rightfully their own!

A big big big thank you to everyone who has come and joined in conversation this season, as well as all of you for your love and support. Another shout out to Julieta Varela who created the artwork for SST and Francis Aud who created the theme music! I love you guys.

Big love everyone!! Enjoy the episode and catch ya in season 2!

Ren Dara Santiago: Dissolving Narratives through Loving Deeply

Ren Dara Santiago: Dissolving Narratives through Loving Deeply

Welcome everyone! You're in for some deep nourishment today. Our conversation is with Ren Dara Santiago. We cover so many heart centered things in this conversation. We talk about how to dispel narratives through truly seeing someone's heart, building families, her work as a playwright, and so much more.

Ren is a Big Sister first and foremost! Every space carries Beanie, Butchie, and Kaying. This Fila-Rican playwright was born in the Bronx, raised in Yonkers and Harlem at intersections of Coded Streets and Bodega Avenues. She’s proud of her history and shares in the practice of uplifting the wisdom that comes from her community. From the originators and generators. From creators thriving despite the exploitation of our cultures, loved ones, systematic debts, and geographies. Ren writes stories that activate our potential for deep loving, for brave loving, for healing, for the hustlers. For people that work hard. For the real heroes, who deserve their lives to be honored in stories; complex, expansive, simple and great. Theater should give communities room to dream. To honor the unknowable, conjured by theater-makers of resilient lineages, offering us the opportunity to shift the limits of possibility.

Ren is currently working with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater as the showrunner for the MTA Radio Plays, launching December 13th; and commissions with En Garde Arts, The Drama Club NYC, The Theatre Co, and New York Rep. Ren teaches playwriting at the National Theater Institute, MCC Youth Company, Williams College, and Williamstown Community Works.

She is a founding member of Middle Voice at Rattlestick, a member of Rising Phoenix Rep. She's the recipient of the TOW Foundation 2020 Residency at Rattlestick, Rising Phoenix Rep’s Cornelia Street American Playwriting Award, and the MCC Alumni Award. She’s developed work with The Bushwick Starr, Cherry Lane Theatre, Clubbed Thumb, Gingold Theatrical Group, LAByrinth, The Lark Play Development Center, MCC Theater, Ojai Playwrights Conference, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Rising Phoenix Rep, and SPACE on Ryder Farm.

Gratitude & Relaxation Meditation with Britt

Gratitude & Relaxation Meditation with Britt

Hello friends! Welcome to the first practice offering of the series. Meditation is a major part of my life and healing journey. I believe intentional stillness is a major key to our liberation. I started leading meditation about 6 years ago and it brings me so much joy. In this practice we will be sinking into some deep relaxation, connection with the heart space, and sending out ripples of gratitude through the body and beyond. This meditation is safe for anyone except for those working through PTSD. If you are someone who deals with PTSD, working with present moment awareness of your environment and being active in the body are safer choices.

Matt Curiano is an actor/writer/director/creator.  He hails from a place called Schenectady NY, which though it sounds like its own pandemic, is actually a name of a real place.  He's lived in NYC for over 10 years now, and though at times it's been a hot mess, its still the most successful relationship he's had.  Don't worry though, they're open, and because of that Matt gets a huge thrill of traveling around and meeting new people and discovering queer culture all over.  He's most inspired by human empathy and kindness in the face of adversity, and the glorious gift of the human imagination. @mattycake89

Brandon Contreras is an actor, singer, dancer, writer, and creator in NYC. He was last seen in the Broadway bound musical adaptation of the cult hit, Almost Famous. When he's not making bread 7 days a week, he is writing, choreographing, and collaborating with artists all around the country. He hopes to create narratives for the colorful and nuances world more people should see. @ohhey_brandon
