Three Strategies to Defeat Limiting Beliefs
I use to struggle with limiting beliefs about myself when it came to diet and losing weight. I would try losing weight, jump on the scale and see it either didn't move or went up a little and thought "I screwed up again". Then the yo-yo cycle would continue. That is an example of a limiting belief. They are these beliefs that come from sticky thoughts that keep us rooted in the places we don't want to be yet can't seem to get away from. Samantha's Journey to Nutritional Flexibility
Hey all! Sorry for the absence. Life GOT REAL BUSY. We're back now. This is one of two back logged episodes that we recorded a couple of months ago. I'm so excited to bring you the story of Samantha! I will let her tell you about herself! Samantha: "I am a therapist, and I have a story to share about how I've changed my own eating habits. I had a pretty typical American diet (heavy in processed foods/ convenience foods). I was sick, and I tried changing my diet as a way to heal some of my underlying health issues. I would go on really strict protocols, and I would see results. However, they were so hard to stick to that I would eventually bounce back to my old ways of eating. Obviously, a lot of extremes and black and white thinking and behaving isn't super effective for long term change! I changed my whole approach and found that simple, sustainable systems were the key to making a long-lasting healthy change. I also discovered that I didn't have to be so strict to get the benefits of a healthy diet."
