Here at the Behavior Chef Podcast we take a look at the behavior side of nutrition. Listen with us as we explore the ins and outs of behavior as related to nutrition with a plethora of guests. From experts in their respective fields, to ordinary people sharing their journeys. We will explore the depth of humanity's most relational necessity and learn a lot about the science of behavior, nutrition, and maybe a little about ourselves along the way.
We all know that Diet Culture is huge in America, and the World. How can we deal with the ever growing issues of body image problems, obsessing over food, and cultivating an unhealthy relationship with the food that we eat? One RDN says that looking inward may be the way to go. This week I am joined by Paige Smathers, RDN, and host of the Nutrition Matters Podcast. Paige and I speak on a variety of topics from behavior modification, body image issues, dietary restrictions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and the ability to look within ones true-self to distinguish what constitutes a "healthy" relationship with food and diet culture. I hope we can be helpful to you! If you would like to get in touch with Paige here is how you do so:

Hey all! Happy Thanksgiving from The Behavior Chef Team! I hope you all have a great holiday, (if you celebrate) and hope you have a great day if you don't celebrate! I hope that today's episode will be one that is so valuable to you. At the beginning of October I had the extreme pleasure to interview Dr. Steven Hayes, creator of Relational Frame Theory and more currently, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. We discussed several topics including ACT and the application to nutrition, pivoting towards personal success and the details behind his new book A Liberated Mind (which can be found at https://stevenchayes.com/a-liberated-mind/ or anywhere books are sold). My hope for this episode is that you, the listener, get to come along the journey with us to a more vulnerable self-discovery. I know I was able to access a deeper part of myself and relate it to my own personal behavior journey through this conversation with Dr. Hayes and I hope that you can too.
Thanks for Listening!
