Habló con la Artista Alejandra Martín de Santa Cruz, Argentina. Desde 2012 elige  vivir en la Patagonia Argentina, en El calafate, provincia de Santa Cruz. Donde comienza a trabajar el mosaico en un pequeño formato de forma autodidacta.  En los últimos años asistió a cursos de formación con distinguidas artistas internacionales del mosaico como Erin Pankratz, Angela Turner Sanders y Marian Shapiro. En 2018 asistió  al Workshop de Mosaico Dinámico con el Maestro Giulio Menossi, en Údine, Italia.

She tells us about what she has learned from a lifetime of experience and tells us what not to do. I speak with Mosaic Artist Dianne Sonnenberg from Austin, Texas about her transition to Public Art with over 19 years of mosaic experience. Talks about how it feels like to have completed a  Mosaic Mural for the Houston Hospital and how she prepared for it.

With global mosaic credentials that go back all the way to 2003 in the mosaic art community. Born in Toronto, Canada but she currently creates mosaics in Austin Texas where she has been involved in the Texas Society of Sculptors and the Austin Mosaic Guild. She considers herself as a guide to inspire others to discover and their inner knowledge through teaching, commissions, collaborate projects, and exhibitions. She is a faculty member at the contemporary Austin Art School at Laguna Gloria, a past director at the Austin School for Mosaic Art in 2017-2019 and not only that, she is also a current instructor at Mosaic Arts Online. Her work has attracted international attention through numerous awards and conferences, including “best Architectural Mosaic” at the 2010 Mosaic Arts International Exhibit in Chicago , Illinois and her 2017 participation in the prestigious Clauiano Mosaic Symposium in Clauino Italy as one of nine selected international artist.

Habló con la Artista Gabriela Vivart Miranda de Temuco, Chile ubicado en el centro del país a unos 670 kilómetros al sur de la capital de Santiago. Hablamos sobre su unos de sus medios artísticos que es el Mosaico. Nos explica su forma de trabajar y nos platica de su extraordinario estudio de mosaico de donde nacen sus ideas inigualables. Nos abre las puertas a un mundo de arte y nos explica su idea de su última obra "IMAGINARIO". Gabriela es una mujer trabajadora de las Artes en sus diferentes plásticas ya sea en fotografía, pintura o mosaico, siempre está en una constante búsqueda de nuevas experiencias y de grandes desafíos. Su formación es extensa desde la enseñanza media en Liceo Galvarino Riberos Cardenas n la ciudad de castro-chiloé con Enseñanza superior en Educación, y terapia Ocupacional 2013-2015. En 2015 inicia la fotografía y continúa diplomados en formación para muralistas, Arte y Espacio Público por la Universidad Abierta de Chile, incluyendo un taller teórico de Vitrales de Franz Meyer que es un reconocido taller de excelentes trabajos de vitrales que elaboran para todo el mundo desde Alemania. EPISODE 5 

I speak with Mosaic Artist David Chidgey from San Antonio, Texas about using ceramics in his mosaics. He is a former graduate from the University of Texas with a degree in Political Science and Foreign Languages. He also did graduate School in  Psychology and spent most of  his career working in the special education field. He currently has his mosaic studio from his residence in San Antonio were he teaches and creates very original mosaic art pieces with ceramics and  beautiful glass. He is also known for his wonderful mosaic mandalas and his unique style. He likes to explore materials with texture, light, brilliant colors and creates his own language when setting down his own personalized pieces. He is an extraordinary person that goes beyond just making very unique mosaics.

EPISODE 4

I interview Mosaic Artist from Rijeka Croatia,  He tells us about working in mosaic restoration projects and what has been like making mosaics since he graduated from the Scuola Mosaicista del Friuli in Spilimbergo, Italy. With that in mind his mosaic artistic side has led him to have mosaic interventions and exhibitions in his own city and has worked in community projects to share everything that he has learned. He is also a mosaic teacher and collaborates in the group Mosaizm with great mosaics artist around Europa and luckily for us we have him in the studio today so he can share his knowledge about restoration and his mosaic artwork.

I speak with Mosaic Artist and Community lider Dawn Mendelson from Long Beach, California. She is originally from Texas but has made California her home and started making mosaics back in 1999 when there were limitation on how to make them. With a Bachelor's Degree in creative writing from California State University in Long Beach, California, a Master of Arts in English, also a creative graphic designer, and a recognized community expert with her certificate from California State University in Los Angeles she pretty much has all the experience in the mosaic field and is here to talk about what is it like to work for a mosaic non-profit organization, her interactions with community mosaic projects, the non-profit Artworks LBC that she is running in Long Beach California to address social issues in the community and mosaic experiences from all the years making beautiful mosaics. 

She also has teaching experience, a very strong professional development in Arts, Public Art, Lectures and mosaic presentations and knows a lot about community work.

I speak to Russian Mosaic Artist Nataly Parson from Castle Rock Colorado about a specific mosaic technique using tempered glass. She has been creating mosaics for over 10 years and likes to work with contemporary styles, 3 dimensions, optical illusions with black and white materials and loves getting her funky ideas to become great pieces of art. She has a master’s degree in corporate communications from the Hague University in the city Dan Hague, Netherlands and more recently in the USA was the PR director of the ColoradoMosaicArtist.org which is a nonprofit that promotes mosaics as a fine art and the artistic and technical education. They also support and advocate for local artist, they generate mosaic art exhibitions and events, and contribute to the community through mosaic art for recognized charitable organizations.   As a recognized mosaic artist from the around the world she also does mosaic décor, classes, exhibitions and coming soon fun art apparel.
