Becoming Who I Needed
By Catalina Caro
Each week i'll speak to guests about what their education on sex was, and what they wish someone would have taught them about sex, love and relationships.

Evolution of Establishing Her with Tonya
It's been one year since I released an episode, and while so much has transpired in my own personal life, I decided to take advantage of having the amazing Tonya in town to dust off the podcast mics and do what we do best...chat.
Since last September Establishing Her, a program which Tonya so courageously and beautifully created, has been one of the biggest pillars in helping me move through some of the most difficult shifts in life this past year. We discuss the importance of not only understanding what it is to be cyclical women, but how to embrace it as well.

When my friend Tonya asked if I'd be up for a visit this past weekend, I was beyond excited and immediately asked if she'd be up for recording an episode with me. I officially met Tonya for the first time right before New Years of 2022. Since then our friendship quickly grew and has become one of the best gifts this year has brought me so far.
Each time I spend time with her and get to know her more deeply my heart is left so full because she is one of the most loving, supportive, and funniest people I know. More than anything, as I've gotten to know her and watched her on her own journey, she has become such an inspiration and teaches me daily about the endless possibilities that can present themselves when you stand in your sovereignty.
In this episode we discuss how Tonya went from marrying her High School sweetheart to opening their marriage all while raising two incredible girls together and living nomadically all at once. There's so much to learn from this beautiful soul and how she lives wild and free with so much love in her heart.
There's no shortage of love and adventure in your life, when you create the life you want to live.
The Road to Self Empowerment
This story has been long overdue, and I was hesitant to share it for so many reasons. In this episode I get very personal about my past and how it brought me to where I am today. As difficult as it was to share, so much so that I must've tried recording it several times for the past couple months, I knew that my story is not uncommon and that someone can benefit in some way from hearing about my experiences. Whether it be all the lessons that I've learned or just one or two that you take away from this episode, I hope you're left encouraged to speak your truth and not be afraid to show up as anyone other than your true authentic self.
Information on this episode may trigger some, and if it does, I hope that you can keep your mind and your heart open and take this as an opportunity to think about why it does.
If you'd like to speak further, I'm always happy to keep the conversation going

One Rad Dad with John Borsey
The first time I met John was at his house with his amazing family and friends Thanksgiving night. John and I immediately jumped into conversations about life, music and parenting. He quickly has become one of my favorite people and I'm honored to have him as my first male guest. Dad to 3 amazing kiddos we discuss what it was like to navigate puberty as a male, and how parenting is consistently evolving and learning with each age.
I love how open and willing to share John was about his own story, and hope that dads everywhere strive to be as loving and supportive as he is.

Presence in the Body with Kristen Nall
In this episode Kristen and I relate on the importance of staying present within our bodies in order to be turned on. Kristen has found joy and purpose in teaching yoga but comes alive when she began creating specific flows to empower women with naked yoga and her newest creation, a yoga flow that concentrates around a woman's cycle.

Warrioress of Love with Davina Palik
This is such a potent and important conversation where Davina shares her story about her experience with sexual abuse as a child. She courageously shares how she felt in the moments of her abuse and how she is still learning to heal the parts of her that weren't nurtured and cared for when she needed it the most. I am in awe of how powerful Davina is and how she can create triumph from trauma, helping other women heal through a beautiful supportive journaling group, where she provides the opportunity for others to share their stories, be seen and held.
If you are a parent, or thinking of becoming a parent, then I highly recommend this episode and listening to how Davina is dedicated to not only living a life without shame for the traumas she ensued, but how it has set the foundation of how she raises her 2 beautiful children with love and acceptance, teaching them the importance of a healthy relationship with their bodies.

I Came From My Mama
In this episode I decided to have my mom as my first guest. I learn all about how she was raised in Peru and how her fears of having daughters came from the unhealthy beliefs that were instilled in her as a young girl. She also speaks on how she knew her life needed to change, and how she wanted to fill it with more love for herself, and her body.
Sex Education Rewritten with Love
In my inaugural episode, I wanted to introduce myself, share my story and my intention for Becoming Who I Needed podcast. Whether we realize it or not, the way we've been taught to view sex, love, relationships and our bodies has a greater impact and influence on our lives. Being raised in a strict household with two Peruvian parents, topics related to sex were never discussed. As an adult i've been able to reflect on how important it is to have a healthy relationship with my body, healthy relationships, sexuality and the act of sex itself. My intention for this podcast is to bring listeners open hearted, honest conversations about how we've been raised to view sex, and love; to unlearn and rewrite unhealthy beliefs we may have been taught when it comes to topics around sex.
