We finish up chapter 1 and dive into and finish chapter 2. We learn more about (1) Paul’s ministry (2) Christ’s ministry (3) how philosophy and traditions of men deceive and cheat us of Christ. We continue to learn about our freedom in Christ and His saving, redemptive work

We learn how Colossians is a “theological vaccine” against heresy as we learn that Jesus is God and what it means to be the “firstborn” and “firstfruits” of creation. We also learn about the doctrine of justification and how Jesus now reconciled us to God and salvation

The final part to our Discipleship series (Part 2) as we continue in our study through Philippians 2:5-30. The 3 main points from this study are: humility, servanthood, and obedience. (3/3/23)

Part 1 of the 2-part discipleship series. We study 3 main points we draw from this text in Paul’s exhortation to the church in Philippi: Unity, Submission, and Surrender. If you’re looking to go deeper in your walk and discipleship in how a follower of Christ is to be in conduct, obedience, and more, this is the series for you! (Next month’s study will be Part 2 continuing in Philippians chapter 2 where we study discipleship in the life of Christ!)

An encouraging study on the life of Abraham and lessons in obedience, waiting, and faith in the promises of God. Also a great exhortation in seeing God’s faithfulness even in our failures and mistakes.

This topical study is a Thanksgiving theme on what it means to give “a sacrifice of praise”. The 3 main points this study focuses on are: (1) prayer, (2) praise, and (3) a sacrifice of praise. There was a short workshop that followed this study that was not recorded but you can simply do it at home. List 10 things you are grateful to God for. You can implement this on top of your personal devotional time to achieve what Paul teaches us here in Philippians to do, to meditate on anything praiseworthy and good especially when trials come and it becomes difficult to praise and thank the Lord through them.

Our guest speaker feeds us with an encouraging topical study through 1 Peter. We are given 8 main points pertaining to characteristics of a born again and redeemed (godly) woman.

The second part to the study “The Voices In Our Head”. The women return from their workshop and we continue to learn on the topic of our study with life applications. The study ends with a time of worship and some of the women share their thoughts and wisdom concerning the study. (9/30/22)

Angela shares on trauma, rape, depression, anxiety, heartbreak, hurt—and the many issues we encounter in life and how we can combat the lies of the devil, the world, and our own flesh by detecting and discerning the voices in our head. This topical study gives us powerful tools in how we can practically put this into practice by journaling our issues and circumstances and writing which “voice” is speaking to us as we discern by the guidance of the voice of truth—the Holy Spirit. We learn about the person of the Holy Spirit, His ministry, and how to discern His voice. (The women then break to work on their worksheets and participate in their Table Talk workshop. Topical study through Proverbs 5. We are warned on the sin of adultery in the physical, literal sense but we also learn a lesson on how to apply it to our spiritual lives. We see how the adulteress from the Proverbs is a type of sin (and lure of the world, the enemy, and our own flesh) in the believer’s life and if left unchecked and given into, it leads to our spiritual death. — But thanks be to God who gives us the victory in Jesus Christ!

Guest speaker Marcella Roark from Calvary Chapel Golden Springs shares with us the dangers of spiritual heart conditions and ultimately spiritual heart failure. We also gain encouragement from her testimony in how she came to the Lord during the darkest time in her life and how the Lord completely transformed and restored her marriage.

This study focuses on two themes: abiding and pruning. We study Jesus’ words on the doctrine of abiding and also discuss the pruning process in our spiritual lives which can be painful at first, but necessary and fruitful in the end.

A must listen for those who may be praying for someone and on the verge of giving up on them. Angela’s amazing testimony of what the Lord saved and redeemed her from and how He saved her truly is nothing short of a miracle. No one is ever too far gone and out of reach from the Lord! He loves us with an everlasting love and has a plan for each and every person’s life no matter what they’ve done and even what was done to them. A must share for those who need an injection of hope and perseverance.

We follow up in Paul’s prison epistle as he shares his confidence and boldness of his chains in Christ. We are encouraged to be unashamed of the Gospel and continually reliant on the empowering of the Holy Spirit along with the importance of having intimate relationship with the Lord. As we grow in the Lord we can trust Him with our life and even our death. The believer is destined to be fearless in Him. We also learn about the blessings and peace that come with waiting, expectancy, and hope in the Lord.

We continue our study through Philippians and learn about humility, waiting on the Lord, and having the right motives in these verses. We learn how we can inspire one another in boldness as Paul inspired the believers to preach Christ while in his chains.

We pick up where we left off in our previous study and cover Philippians 1:7-13. We can learn from Paul’s example to pray for others during our trials and how to have joy in the midst of suffering.

Introduction to the book of Philippians. We learn the background of this epistle and how the Philippian church was founded as we see in Acts. We then dive in depth verse-by-verse from verses 1-6 in Chapter 1.
