Air Force One
This week, Thomas and Colin watch the 1997 American political action thriller, Air Force One.
Thomas is caught in a temporal coin toss. Colin is poked and prodded. Thomas and Colin both raise the stakes. Colin is partially wrong about CGI: https://beforesandafters.com/2022/07/25/why-air-force-one-has-some-of-the-most-talked-about-visual-effects-in-history/ (Great article!) and a great short video: https://youtu.be/8QMX8t1l9XQ

2010: The Year We Make Contact
This week, Thomas and Colin watch the 1984 Sci-fi/Adventure, 2010: The Year We Make Contact.
Thomas tries to have his cake and eat it too. Colin is far more competent in his cake-consuming capabilities. Thomas hitchhikes into left field. Colin completely loses the plot.
Incidentally, SAL-9000's voice, credited to Olga Mallsnerd, is actually Candice Bergen. (The name Mallsnerd is a play on the name of one of the characters created by her ventriloquist father Edgar.)

Asteroid City
This week, Thomas and Colin watch the 2023 American comedy-drama film, Asteroid City.
Thomas reveals his Flat-Earther allegiances. Colin completely and frustratingly fails to remember -until he sits down to edit the episode, when it comes to him instantly- the name of the strong westerly winds that occur in the Southern Hemisphere, generally between the latitudes of 40° and 50° south. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roaring_Forties
The somewhat NSFW Monty Python Oscar Wilde Sketch: https://vimeo.com/680960970
Correction: Colin would actually need to aim considerably more south to fly directly over South Africa, not north, as Thomas protested. (Great circles!)

Hot Shots!
This week, Thomas and Colin watch the 1991 American comedy film, Hot Shots! (That exclamation mark at the end is part of the film title, and should not be construed as an indication of Colin's excitement to be watching it!)
Thomas feels marginalised. Colin risks his marriage making it to thirty years. Factcheck: Colin DOES usually donate 879ml of plasma every fortnight, HOWEVER this week the machine took 880ml because he squeezed especially hard at the end. This anomaly explains why he was "momentarily" befuddled when talking about it. :D
