I hope you enjoyed this episode of Hot Takes. I want to thank Kaz for being on my podcast and bringing some good ideas and opinions to the show. I also want to thank Matt for producing this episode. In this episode we had two hot takes. Zoos are weird and Summer break is overrated because of the pressure. Both of these opinions made for some great conversation and I hope you enjoy it.

Graduating senior Aidan Sheeran-Hahnel sits down and recounts stories from his time at Catlin Gabel. He reflects on each of his four years, what he would change, and what advice he would give to younger students. He also brings on guest star Kristen Sheeran, his own mother, to discuss the Catlin Gabel parent experience.

We argue all the time, whether it be a debate at school, a meeting that got a little too heated, or an emotional yelling match with our parents/guardians. Today, I explored with my family what it means to have productive arguments, particularly as a teen living with adults. I asked my brother about how his arguments with our parents go, then explored the other side of the story. Parents tend to think of teens as rebellious, and teens tend to think of their parents as unfair, but through my interviews, I hoped to find the key to unlocking a mutual understanding that might allow us to connect with the adults in our homes just a little bit more.

Romaan Zuberi, Pakistani-American/Desi, and Aanna Farhang, Iranian-American/Middle Eastern, discuss heritage and how culture and traditions are seen in American society. Romaan delves into the intersectionality of his Desi identity from his dad with the Menonite roots from his mom as well as the reality of being a second-generation immigrant.
