Family Matters #20 'Gender and Marriage'

Family Matters #20 'Gender and Marriage'

Summary

The presentation is about gender differences in marriage and how the Bible provides guidance on the topic. The speaker discusses their interest in marriage and relationships, and how they developed a series of talks on the subject. They also talk about their book “For Better or For Worse” and the accompanying workbook. The speaker emphasizes that while there are differences between men and women, most aspects of discipleship are common to both genders. They also address the politicization of gender differences and the importance of understanding biblical perspectives.

Highlights

The speaker developed a series of talks on relationships due to a lack of biblical content on the subject.

Their book “For Better or For Worse” covers various topics related to marriage, including dating, communication, and difficulties.

The accompanying workbook was created to provide Christadelphian couples with material for marriage courses.

The speaker highlights the importance of understanding both the common aspects of discipleship and the differences between men and women.

They discuss the physical and neurological differences between genders and the societal and cultural implications of these differences.

The facts we will present about Palestine origins and the charge of “ethnic cleansing” are very revealing. Talk 3 This talk is designed for Christadelphians as it considers the future events that will lead to the Battle of Armageddon, the major impacts of that battle and the challenges that believers face in these last days.

John the Baptist: Allowing the voice of God to speak to our hearts

John the Baptist: Allowing the voice of God to speak to our hearts

God speaks to us in many different ways, but one of the most important ways is through our hearts. When we open our hearts to God, He can speak to us through His Word, through our thoughts and feelings, and through the circumstances of our lives. There are a few things we can do to allow the voice of God to speak to our hearts: We can confess our sins. When we sin, it creates a barrier between us and God that makes it difficult to hear His voice. When we confess our sins, we remove this barrier and allow God to speak to us more clearly. We can read the Bible with an open heart. The Bible is God's Word, and it is one of the most powerful ways that He speaks to us. When we read the Bible with an open heart, we are inviting God to speak to us through His Word. We can be still and listen. Sometimes the best way to hear God's voice is to simply be still and listen. This means setting aside time each day to quiet our minds and hearts so that we can hear what God is saying to us. We can ask God to speak to us. We can simply ask God to speak to us, and He will. He may speak to us through a Scripture verse, a thought, a feeling, or a circumstance. When we allow the voice of God to speak to our hearts, we are opening ourselves up to a deeper relationship with Him. We are also allowing Him to guide us and direct our lives in the way that is best for us. Here are some additional tips for allowing the voice of God to speak to your heart: Be patient. It may take some time to develop the ability to hear God's voice clearly. Don't get discouraged if you don't hear Him right away. Just keep practicing and asking Him to speak to you. Be open to whatever He says. Don't try to control what God says to you. Just be open to whatever He has to say, even if it's not what you were expecting. Act on what He says. When you hear God's voice, don't just ignore it. Take action on what He says. This is how you will grow in your relationship with Him. Allowing the voice of God to speak to our hearts is a journey. It takes time, patience, and effort. But it is a journey that is worth taking. When we allow the voice of God to speak to our hearts, we are opening ourselves up to a deeper relationship with Him and a more fulfilling life.

The Many Antichrists!

The Many Antichrists!

A @Christadelphians Video: Description: Antichrist is anyone who opposes Jesus Christ and his message. From the time of the apostles in the first century, many false christs, false teachers and false prophets arose – and they all came from the original believers in Christ. As a result, false religious groups were created, the gospel truth was corrupted and religion discredited. The apostle John warns us to test teachers and their doctrines with the teaching of the Bible: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

The content explores the concept of Antichrist, highlighting how there have been many throughout history and not just one future figure. It delves into the characteristics and actions of these Antichrists, such as false prophets, false Christs, and false teachers, who aim to deceive and corrupt the truth. The importance of testing these individuals against the teachings of the Bible is emphasised, along with the need to hold fast to the traditions taught by the apostles to protect against deception.

  •  Antichrist is not just a future figure but has existed throughout history, with various forms such as false prophets, false Christs, and false teachers.
  •  The key to identifying Antichrists is testing their teachings against the word of God to discern truth from deception.
  •  Holding fast to the traditions taught by the apostles, whether through word or epistle, is crucial in protecting against the spirit of Antichrist.

Hosea: 4 part Bible Study ( John Owen)

Description: This outstanding series illuminates the prophecy of Hosea by showing connections to many scriptures. The northern kingdom of Israel was like an unfaithful wife, deserving the curses in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. Jesus quoted Hosea to denounce the faithless generation of his time, but now the time is close when they will turn to God and be restored at last. We must keep apart from the world, learn to heed God's Word, and know and trust Him in our lives.

It's a relentless message of warning and scathing rebuke with no reference made to the saving of Noah or Lot included by Peter. Instead emphasis is on corruption from within exposing the latter day situation when self-serving apostates will endeavour to impose their worldly values on the ecclesias.
