Part 5 of my Breast Cancer Journey: Rooted in Recovery
In today’s episode, I openly discuss my ongoing breast cancer journey—sharing the fatigue, the emotional waves, and the quiet strength that is carrying me through. I talk about the power of community, the magic of numerology, and how a new home can hold new energy for healing. I also reflect on aging with grace (sort of), letting go of appearances, and reconnecting deeply with myself. It’s a conversation filled with honesty, wisdom, and a reminder that even in the hardest seasons, there’s space for self-love and hope. Let’s dive in.

I love that we’re having this conversation midway through the year — it’s the perfect time to pause, reflect, and realign with what you truly want for the months ahead.
Get cozy, tune in, and let’s explore the wisdom of 9 together.

Daisy’s Story~a life re written after breast cancer
Today’s episode features Daisy — born and raised in Vancouver, BC — a mother, librarian, reader, and resilient soul. After a lifelong career in public libraries serving children, teens, and families, Daisy found herself facing something she never expected: breast cancer.
Now on the other side, she's navigating what it means to heal, to rediscover joy, and to find purpose again — this time, through volunteer work hospital based settings. Grab a cup of tea, settle in — this is Daisy’s story.

Part 4 of my Journey with Breast Cancer
One minute the race was just beginning and I was tying my shoes at the starting line and suddenly I am seeing the finish line become closer and closer. As I get to that end mark...I realize some interesting things...I begin to discuss them today.

Stacy's story~ Return Stronger: Life After Cancer
After years of monitoring her health due to a Lynch syndrome diagnosis (a genetic mutation predisposing her to colon and endometrial cancers), Stacy Graham thought she was prepared for anything—until life handed her a completely unrelated challenge: stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer. In this episode, Stacy shares her experience navigating the highs, the lows, and the uncertain in-betweens—accepting the hard days, making the most of the good ones, and doing her best with whatever each day brought. Her treatment journey included six months of chemotherapy, three surgeries (with one more pending), 25 rounds of radiation, and another six months of clinical trial chemotherapy to help reduce the risk of recurrence.More than a story of survival, Stacy’s cancer journey became a powerful catalyst for transformation. It led her to revisit her deepest values, realign her goals, and ultimately step away from a successful corporate career in senior leadership to pursue a life more aligned with her purpose.Today, just seven months out from her final chemotherapy session and three months post-surgery, Stacy is in the practicum phase of becoming an ICF-certified Life Coach. Known as the “What’s Next?!” Coach and founder of Return Stronger, she helps others figure out what's next for them—whether that means breaking unhealthy habits, rebuilding a new life, or reconnecting with their purpose and moving confidently toward it.Stacy believes we are never guaranteed tomorrow—so love fiercely, live fully, and chase your dreams today.Learn more about Stacy’s story and her work at returnstronger.ca.

The Pause Files: Secrets I Didn’t Know I Knew. Vacation magic and more
In this episode, Dear Diary and I catch up on life lately. She shares her RV adventure with her husband—so much beauty, nature, and those sweet retirement-vibes starting to sneak in. I open up about the peaceful joy I'm discovering in the quiet spaces of life. It's all about appreciating the little things and finding connection in the calm.

Dani's story: Inner Peace with a Passport. From Vancouver to Dubai — tuning in across time zones.
Today, you’ll meet Danielle Sallam — a mystic human I’ve had the honour of witnessing unfold. Dani did both levels of energy training at Bliss, and it’s been pure joy watching her trust herself more deeply in this mysterious, beautiful world of energy as well as taking a giant leap of moving from Vancouver to Dubai.
She is now a sound healer. A space holder. A quiet guide who walks you back home — through stillness, vibration, and the tender medicine of meditation.
In this episode, we talk about healing. About what it means to grow, to listen, to follow that inner nudge, even when it is not what we want to hear. We dive into sound as a sacred tool, the rough patches and softness of moving to Dubai, and the wild wisdom of nature.
There’s a thread that runs through it all — self-trust, self-discovery, and that quiet, bright light we all carry inside.

Part 3: In the Valley and the light of my breast cancer journey
Today, I’m sharing a glimmer of where I am in this wild journey—honestly and with realism.
I’m about halfway through my treatment. I’m in the valley, deep in the tough parts, but at the same time, I’m starting to see the light—and it’s shining with so much more brilliance than I ever expected.
I’ve heard it said that those who can feel the depths of sorrow are also capable of experiencing the truest love. And that’s becoming more and more real for me. And in sharing it, I hope to create space for truth—yours and mine.

Hannah's Story: two time cancer survivor!
Meet Hannah McCormack - she is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who has worked with children and youth for over 17 years. She is also a two time cancer survivor! She is a proud Mom of twin boys and lives in North Vancouver, Canada.
Today Hannah and I discuss her journey through breast cancer, from her initial diagnosis to her experiences with treatment and recovery. We explore the emotional impact on family, the importance of advocacy in the medical system, and the supportive community that emerged during this challenging time. Hannah shares insights on the different types of breast cancer, the significance of genetic testing, and the lessons learned about resilience and living life fully after cancer.

2025 eclipse season
Dear Diary and I are back after a very long period of silence. Well who am I kidding?!? Dear Diary and I are never quiet but we have just not done a podcast in a while! So, I felt the nudge to start putting these back on again. Here we go!!

Part 2: embracing my journey with breast cancer
Tune on in with me as I share the humble and strong journey I am on right now...sharing only what I can do best- my own story, this part about breast cancer.

Embracing my race; the first leg of my journey with breast cancer
It has been some time since I last spoke into this space, and I’ve gone back and forth on whether to return. And now, well, now it feels like the time has arrived—not just for me, but for anyone who might want to lean in, listen, and perhaps find something here for themselves as well.
I’m starting a new journey now, one I never expected to take: a journey with breast cancer. And I’ve been wondering how I want to share this story, how I want to speak about it and where. But in the quiet of these thoughts, I realized this is the place for me. This space. Here, I can pour my words and my heart, in all their rawness, their messiness, their uncertainty.
And so I return. For myself, and for anyone else who needs to hear something, anything, that might make this journey a little less daunting.

The Gift of Saying Yes to Ourselves

My Journey to becoming a mystic: the chapter of understanding me as a little girl
I've heard so many fascinating stories over the years from people trying to make sense of the unexplainable. Some have had a few experiences, while others have kept their tales hidden for years. I'm on a mission to step out of my own "spiritual" closet and show that these big emotions and experience are totally normal for so many of us.
For ages, we’ve been told that anything beyond the rational is off-limits or just “woo woo.”
So, let’s break free from those “woo woo” closets and start sharing our stories!

Stresstember and other honest truths
Dear Diary is back and stress suddenly disappeared as we came together and began to honestly chatnabout life and the rollercoaster of the beginning of new routines, exhausation of getting up early again and so much more that Fall brings us all with a hint of laughter!

Bare
Welcome back RAINA! I believe just like a book you read, it is important to bring back people to the podcasts to hear the different chapters of their lives- we change with experiences! Raina has published her first book BARE and so much has opened for her...even since the few weeks since we recorded this episode: congratulations RAINA AND MJ on their engagement. Here is a little bit on Raina's bio: I feel as if I’ve lived 100 different lives in the several decades I’ve been roaming this planet, you may feel the same way.
I’ve maneuvered through bankruptcy, addiction, divorce, illness leading to an ileostomy, recovery, single parenting, traveling, relocating, dating, and more - collecting the tools, lessons, and experiences that have shaped me.
I’m currently a single mom to two teenage girls, three dogs, and two horses navigating entrepreneurship & adulting while following what lights me up and brings me joy.
For a decade, I identified as a health & fitness coach.

Spiritual Slip Ups: My journey to becoming a mystic
Picture this: a regular girl with a knack for tripping over her own feet, somehow stumbling into the mystical world. Spoiler alert—I didn’t see it coming. But between awkward moments, unexpected epiphanies, and a lot of laughs, I found myself on a wild journey to the divine. Who knew enlightenment could be so wonderfully weird? I have been sitting with very unedited memoir filled with terrible grammar and many pages that don't make sense for over a decade. I figure I can keep staring at those pages for another decade or two and do nothing or I can just trust this feeling in me that is saying “share the words in any way you can and the rest will sort itself out”…. So let it all begin!

Putting yourself back on the priority list

Science and Energy Healing, a place for both with Becky Carlsen.
Fun fact: I was born in the Yukon! We moved to BC when I was very young and I have been in the lower mainland ever since. In High School I naturally gravitated to courses like math and science with success, so without much thought this became my focus in University. In my first year of University my mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. Then less than 5 years later, while I was working on my Masters my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
My background and my degrees in science and experiences with cancer led me to getting a job in Cancer Research.Through personal experience and work experiences with cancer is where I felt there was a need for more complementary therapies for people and their families going through these experiences. I began taking courses in the chemistry of essential oils and their benefits, end of life doula training and deep into the work of reiki. Energy healing is now a passion of mine and I look forward to sharing this with so many people.
