Joining the Job Queue

By Cindy Sciberras

This series follows my journey as I Join the Job Queue for the first time in many years.

I seek out people who can help me navigate this new normal - of seeking work in a recession and during a global pandemic.

We’ll look at all sorts of job-related stuff – from managing your finances, your wellbeing, and your job applications through to interviews with people who have gone through tough times and have landed on their feet.

I chat to Joel Xuereb from Bridge Private Wealth to get a handle on key things to consider financially when you lose your job.

We cover housing costs, government benefits, superannuation and more.

Along the way, Joel reveals what got him into financial advising in the first place and gives us some of the tips he uses to stay focused and organised (after all, he is a Virgo!).

The advice covered in this episode is general in nature and if you are suffering real financial hardship you can visit the Federal Government’s Moneysmart website for advice and assistance, including links to financial counsellors.
