Sanctuary Farm for Retired Racehorses
Interview with Kim Weir of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. We talk about TRF's newly opened Chestnut Hall Sanctuary Farm that will be the permanent home for 11 retired racehorses from the organization's national herd of 500. Chestnut Hall is nestled on 30 acres of historic farmland in Oldham County, Kentucky and was gifted to the foundation by Bill Carstanjen, CEO of Churchill Downs Incorporated. It was his vision that these athletes serve as “herd ambassadors”.
