Nationalising and Dismantling the Fossil Fuel Industry in the Global North
Europe on Fire
Only Up From Here
We're back. After a four week hiatus, we have a jam-packed episode on everything we've been up to: social media launch, report on dismantling the fossil fuel industry, our first grant (👀), partnering with a youth climate campaign...only up from here! Let's get into it.
Planetary Polycrisis
Our world is in crisis. And the ruling class is driving us deeper into the abyss. With so many crises ricocheting around the world, it can be difficult to make sense of it all.
Feelings of disempowerment and dismay can easily grip us and cause our inward retreat. We need to cope with terminal disaster in our own way, but it's also vital that we take a sober stock of where we are now as a species and civilization.
In this episode we discuss three crises: the cost of living scandal, monkeypox, and environmental breakdown. We highlight current impacts, their causes, and where we go from here.
Climate Activist Files
Dana Oyarzabal of Jóvenes Por El Clima Argentina joins the podcast to discuss all things climate activism. Together, in conversation, we learn about Dana's inspirational climate journey and the intricacies of the global climate movement. Hopeful, informative, relaxed - tune in.
Operation Launch
You heard that right: Climate Vanguard is strapping in and preparing for launch THIS JUNE. Tune in to hear our big plans. Insider scoop: we drop the juiciest details at the end.
Climate Vanguard Gets Arrested
In this episode, we discuss getting arrested as part of Just Stop Oil, a coalition of ordinary people who are demanding that the UK government stop all future fossil fuel projects. Fossil fuels are already killing people, funding war, and destroying our future.
And yet, the UK government plans on approving 42 new fossil fuel projects by 2025. At a time when the UN Secretary General has confirmed that "we are on a fast track to climate disaster," the UK government's continued complicity in the breakdown of our life support systems is an utter betrayal of young people and those already on the frontlines of environmental catastrophe.
We urgently plead that everyone who cares about us and the future of humanity joins the climate movement. Because the reality is that no one is coming to save us. We must resist for life itself. If not you, who?
Our Progress
Jack and Noah bring it back to the roots by discussing the progress of Climate Vanguard. We pull back the curtain and get personal, offering our hopes, dreams, and worries about Climate Vanguard's future. Tune in and find out what your favorite climate duo has been up to.
Russia, Ukraine, and Environmental Breakdown
The barbaric Russian invasion of Ukraine bears testament to our era of chronic crisis, from Donald Trump to Brexit and COVID-19. Yet these are not disparate events. They are inextricable from the larger meta emergency of environmental breakdown. Here to tease out these intimate connections is Nikita Artamonov, third flatmate, Russian specialist, and Climate Vanguard sounding board.
Land and Agricultural Revolution
Climate Vanguard team member Reese Waters joins the podcast to offer a second sneak peak into a key research area: a land and agricultural revolution. Combining statistics, history, personal experience, and passionate imagination, this episode offers a compelling wealth of knowledge and a whole lot of heart. Tune in.

So what is Climate Vanguard actually proposing? We introduce our research framework and drop a delicious sneak peak into one of eight radical environmental policies that are implementable in the short-term. The full policy guide will be out THIS SPRING when Climate Vanguard launches. Watch this space.
