Coffee and Friends

Sometimes we all feel so motivated, ready to tackle everything that comes our way. We feel as we are on top of the world and there is absolutely no one that can ruin your vibe.

Then there those days YOU  just want nothing to do with whatever it is the you're working on. Experiencing those feelings are very discouraging and it is completely OK to feel that way. I have people in my life who will always support me and keep me accountable, Matrix in this episode actually kept me accountable and balanced my day. Even during the time I did not want to create anything he was there to help me just put one foot in front of the other and at the end of the day the way I was feeling was filled with satisfaction as we accomplished what we intended to do that day.

unbelievable... since I started the podcast, I have learned so much the entire year. Growth happens every day and I often find myself asking the same question "what would I have done differently?" simple answer is nothing. 

I fell in love with so many hobbies, photography, videography, podcasting just letting my creativity guide me in the future. Leaning new skills as time passes I have focused my time on freelancing, part of the growth comes from the connections I have made through out life.

I thank those who have been there to allow me to create for them and with them, thank you to those that have taken their time to teach me and guide me. Always aiming for progression not perfection.

Some would say we are just plain old lazy and that we just don't want to work. Taking a vacation or spending some extra time for yourself #selfcare doesn't mean that you forget about everything else that is happening around you. It just means you get to recharge to be able to be more productive, creative and even stay sane and healthy. 

When something becomes repetitive we often feel exhausted unmotivated, then we tell ourselves that, THAT is normal we tend to hurt ourselves and become unhappy. Don't ever feel bad about taking that time for you. in exchange you are happier and more productive wether its you, your business or your employer you will ultimately be a HAPPIER person.

Take care of you and don't forget to take some time, reevaluate and take over the world. Lets just be smart about it. 

As we recorded we slowly realize how much we all compare everything we create to what others are doing, simple things like recreating a photo or taking a photo, or things we do in our everyday life. 

We have realized that the only thing we should care about should be our own Progression and not Perfection. Compare your creations with your past self and look at how much you have improved instead of worrying about what the rest of the world is doing.

I often jump into conversations about not having the right gear to start creating. To an extent the answer to the question varies depending on who you ask, in this episode Ken, Matrix and I discuss our personal feelings about gear.

In simple terms NO you do not need all the top of the line to start creating content specially having high level of technology in the palm of our hands. Will having more gear help? YES to improve productivity having the right equipment will ultimately help you deliver a higher quality of product for your clients, but at the end of the day if you focus to much on acquiring all the gear first it really doesn't matter if you don't create content. Gear that is not being put to good use ends up being useless (that's my personal believe)

He has proudly employed several coffee professionals, two who joined us Noah Head roaster at Good People and Mary a girl who is self driven and willing to learn everything there is in the Coffee industry. We all talk about how it is to work at the coffee shop, what it means to be able to cater and offer a very hospitable environment for the West LA community and all those who support small businesses.

Being able to serve and caffeinated customers has not been easy with all the regulations and guidelines for COVID 19 but having a team who enjoy what they do has made it possible.

I am pretty amazed by all the people we meet in our lives. Shirley is an amazing person who I had the opportunity to meet through coffee, now I discovered how much in common we have. From being immigrants to even having a similar childhood, we both discover we are not alone.  

She has made many sacrifices which have lead to her success in life, she is a very fun, happy human and a good friend to be around. You can always find her at Blueys Kitchen in Santa Monica where you can get delicious breakfast and coffee, even lunch or dinner.

Life is never easy, there will always be challenges, obstacles and even heartbreaks. In this journey there are always lessons to be learned. Lena is a wonderful young lady who has moved up the ladder in her current job. Now being a manager and handling more responsibility she feels more prepared to peruse one of her dream goals which will be to open up her own coffee shop along with achieving a career in geology.

Leslee Crisman is an and up and coming actress, who has been working as barista at Menottis Coffee Stop in Venice California. She was born and raised in Denver, moved cities to pursue a career in the film industry, she is a very talented person who spends most of her time educating her self by recording for movie opportunities, sings and writing.   With the pandemic happening in 2020 we don’t know exactly how the big screen will adapt to new regulations, Leslee is definitely preparing for what’s to come and I can’t wait until I see her on the big screen. We did not start talking until a decade after, when she became friends with my wife. Even though it took that long to actually get to know each other it feels like we have been part of each others lives for ever. I love her sense of humor and the fact that she is one of the most influential person in my wife's life.
