How To Achieve 10X More In 2020 With This Goal-Setting Method

How To Achieve 10X More In 2020 With This Goal-Setting Method

Do you set a bunch of ambitious goals at the beginning of the year but find yourself losing motivation and slacking off after a few weeks? Same here. That’s why I’ve refined my goal-setting process to something that’s so simple yet so impactful that has allowed me to achieve what seemed like audaciously huge goals at the time - scaling my business from 0-7 figures in 12 months or exiting a business that was described as unsellable. Sounds cool? Listen in!

To Get Better, You Have To Get Worse First... Usually

To Get Better, You Have To Get Worse First... Usually

Feeling stuck, things aren’t improving? Whether it’s your skills, the level of your current success, your relationship, your finances or your health... Often times, we hit a plateau and just can’t seem to improve doing the same things we’ve done before. Then it’s usually time to approach things from a different paradigm. But in order to do that, we have to be willing to get worse first, in order to improve. Without the willingness to do so, we’ll keep stagnating. Leave some feedback!

Stop Consuming Content You Don’t Need - The Content Diet

In this episode I talk about quitting the constant consumption of podcasts, blogs, YouTube videos and other social feeds, including books! Why? Because you already know the most crucial things. It’s enough. Focus that time and mental bandwidth on the things that matter most right now.

#17: Mike Michalowicz On Losing Everything, Selling Your Business & Profit First

#17: Mike Michalowicz On Losing Everything, Selling Your Business & Profit First

Mike Michalowicz, the author of Profit First, The Pumpkin Plan, The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur & Fix This next, had founded and sold two multimillion-dollar companies.

Knowing that now, he could do anything, he became an angel investor (the type who buys a Range Rover, BMW & Dodge Viper on the same day!).

Only to realize that after 2 years he had lost all of his money and maybe… he didn’t know THAT much about business after all.

After another 2 years of depression, self-hatred and doubt he rebuilt himself as well as his business skills by taking complex & boring but crucial topics for the survival & thriving of businesses and made them not only simple and practical, but also entertaining.

I personally recommend his books without hesitation to friends and will encourage anyone to pick up a copy.

Here we discuss:

  • The importance of knowing your numbers, profiting first and making business simple
  • How he lost all his money after selling two multimillion-dollar businesses, how he rebuilt himself and what role journaling played in that
  • Getting too confident with your first successes, only to be humbled later on
  • How to prepare to sell your business for its maximum value
  • How to figure out what to focus on next by knowing what the most important thing for your business is right now

Hope you enjoy this episode with Mike Motorbike! If you did, please consider leaving a review on iTunes!

#14: Realizing Who You Are, Not Who You Wish You Were w/ Louis Kanteh

What happens when two guys who have built a 7-figure business in their early twenties sit together and brainstorm how to overcome their current challenges?

Today’s guest is once again, Louis Kanteh, who is one of my favorite people to talk to when it comes to business, personal development and silly shenanigans.

He’s one of the members in our weekly mastermind calls (which you can apply to join as well), built a 7-figure business and moved his business and himself to Cyprus when he was 19 years old.

In this episode, I sat down with him while I visited him in Cyprus and we brainstormed on different topics such as:

- Realizing who you actually are, not who you wish you were (“do you really want it, or do you want to want it?”)-

- Our dream of building a team that is like a family and community

- What’s your personality and how does it fit into a team

- Finding a co-founder who’s strengths are your weaknesses

- How your self-image affects all your actions and the importance of self-reflection to become aware of it

- The lies of the personal development industry that you can “be whoever you want”

- The importance of enjoying what you do

- Starting a business that is not a proven model you can copy from a course, but going into uncharted territory

- Our prediction that mental health & loneliness will be the biggest issues coming up in society, as kids are growing up getting hooked on the fake world of social media

Do you enjoy more casual conversations like these? Let me know!

#10: Buying Businesses For Cheap To Create Your Perfect Lifestyle w/ Adam Tucker

#10: Buying Businesses For Cheap To Create Your Perfect Lifestyle w/ Adam Tucker

While everybody talks about how to start & grow a business, there’s a whole different industry out there - the business of buying businesses and completely skipping the grind part.

Building a business is the best way to get rich, but to get really really rich, buying businesses is a much more predictable game.

But don’t you need a lot of money for that? Not necessarily…

Today’s guest is my buddy Adam Tucker who is an Australian investor, adviser and strategist for the companies he buys & supports, as well as a passionate surfer, traveler and overall good dude.

He only buys and invests in companies he believes, with people he wants to be surrounded with and builds is ecosystem around that

Here we discuss:

  • Why buying companies is one of the sexiest things to create wealth and an amazing lifestyle
  • How to make the best deals by caring about the people you’re making the deal with and giving them what they want
  • How to double your business overnight by buying your competitor
  • Balancing work with things you truly enjoy

Without further ado, let’s dive right into it!

How To Love Your Work By Figuring Out The Two Passions (Topic + Activity)

How To Love Your Work By Figuring Out The Two Passions (Topic + Activity)

In this episode, I talk about the two different areas you need to be passionate about to love your work.

(A) You need to like the topic it's about (health, video games, soccer, real estate) and (B) enjoy the day-to-day activity according to what you love doing (solving problems, interacting with people, consulting, writing etc.).

You might love a topic, but hate the business you're in.  OR, you might love doing an activity, but aren't particularly passionate about the topic your business revolves around.

If you love biohacking, you could start endless businesses: An eCommerce supplements business, a coaching program, a blog, writing a book, creating events for biohackers... but what might matter more than the topic you choose is the medium or vehicle.

If you love biohacking but you don't like interacting with people, a coaching program might not be a business you'd be passionate about.

#9: How To Befriend Mentors, Celebrities & Top CEOs w/ Steve Sims

#9: How To Befriend Mentors, Celebrities & Top CEOs w/ Steve Sims

Would you like to connect with the most influential people you can think of - celebrities, CEOs, mentors or influencers in your industry that would skyrocket your business?

Steve Sims makes the impossible happen:

He used to be a bricklayer from London, moved to Hong Kong to be a bouncer and networked his way into exclusive circles he shouldn’t be in (CEOs, bankers & wealthy people).

Now he runs a luxury concierge service called Bluefish and they make the impossible happen for their clients, including:

- Getting married in the Vatican by the Pope

- Performing on stage with your favorite band

- Going into a submarine to visit the titanic

- Connecting with business moguls like Elon Musk

One of the most underrated assets is relationships. Looking back, it’s always a relationship that skyrockets someone’s growth & makes things possible. That’s why top CEOs ask WHO, not HOW.

Examples of people who’s career blew up through the right relationship?

- Tony Robbins met Guthy Renker, the infomercial expert who marketed Tony’s infomercials to millions of people

- Richard Branson got mentored by Sir Freddie Laker when he started his airline

- Brian Lee partners up with celebrities like Jessica alba to build billion dollar companies like the Honest Company

Today we’re going to discover how to build genuine relationships with mentors, high-level CEOs, influencers or other people who are currently considered higher status than you.

We also dive into being transparent & how to figure out who you truly are so you actually connect with people on a deep level.

Most Entrepreneurs Today Are Sheep Thinking They’re Wolves

Most Entrepreneurs Today Are Sheep Thinking They’re Wolves

“Yes, you! You should also be an entrepreneur! Escape the sheep herd and join the wolf pack!” - said the wolf to the sheep to build his own little sheep farm.

So many entrepreneurs (read: wantrepreneurs) think they’re people who are making their own opinion, going their own way and are smarter than those that have a 9-5.

But in reality, they’ve just subscribed to another dogma, have been brainwashed by a different system and even worse, now think they’re better than those who aren’t doing what they’re doing.

I also touch on the brilliant book by Ayn Rand called The Fountainhead, looking at how the different characters (Howard Roark, Peter Keating etc.) perfectly illustrate a similar dynamic.

I can smell insecurity and people pleasing a mile away, including when someone tries to show how “they don’t care what others think” but they’re only saying that because it’s cool to say that and they desperately need your approval.

Highly recommend the book.

Share it with someone that needs to hear it.

#6: Fireside Chat About Happiness & Fulfillment w/ Mike Vestil & Pascal Heck

#6: Fireside Chat About Happiness & Fulfillment w/ Mike Vestil & Pascal Heck

“Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.” - a quote by Lao Tzu that sums up what we talk about in this episode.

Today I’m joined by my buddies Mike Vestil, a 7-figure internet entrepreneur and Pascal Heck, a former German national American-football champion and we dive into some really interesting discoveries we made about happiness, fulfillment and how to change your emotional default state and identity.

Some of the things we talk about are:

  • How we transitioned from pursuing a business just for money to a business that is an extension of who we truly are
  • Mike opens up about how he stopped being driven by pain and quick results to taking the long-term approach that he’s truly aligned with
  • I share what helped me overcome a lifelong struggle with constantly worrying about everything
  • Pascal shares a really powerful technique in his visualization to change your identity

Basically, we talk about everything that’ll help you from being controlled by bad emotions and going down the negative spiral, to what helped us turn the momentum in the other direction and create an upward spiral of positive emotions that not only allows us to be happy but is also necessary to achieve a higher level of success.

Let’s jump right into it!

#5: How To Make Hard Work Effortless & End The Grind w/ Louis Kanteh

#5: How To Make Hard Work Effortless & End The Grind w/ Louis Kanteh

Does work feel like a grind to you? You find yourself stressed, sometimes anxious & doubting whether you’re doing enough? You’re having to push yourself to get everything done and at the end of the day you feel like you should’ve done more…

That is exactly how I felt almost every day in my first business right until I met Louis. He’s built a successful eCommerce company at 18 years old and is now selling his company just like I did. And we connected immediately because we had the same realization: Grinding, hustling and forcing it is not the way to go.

In this episode, we talk about:

- How Louis went from stressed, overwhelmed & unhappy to loving his life & work

- Why knowing & understanding yourself is one of the most important things to make that shift

- Why working harder is only possible when you take a step back and cultivate happiness first

- The three little things that will help you go from grinding to developing an effortless drive that pulls you forward

This is a crucial topic if you’re not just looking to create an incredibly successful business, but also want to enjoy the entire process and live a life of joy & fulfillment. And arguably, it’s a transition that is necessary in order to actually build that incredibly successful business in the first place.

#4: Healing A Year Of Burnout & Stress By Following His True Passion w/ Kyle Lasota

This episode is absolute gold and in my opinion one of the best episodes I’ve recorded this far…

Today’s guest is my buddy Kyle Lasota who’s a filmmaker that helps 7-figure entrepreneurs get their message out and he works with some big names.

His story is incredible and he’s got a ton of wisdom to share.

He was always passionate about filmmaking but ended up going a completely different path into marketing because he didn’t want to be another starving artist that couldn’t pay his rent. He ended up as a copywriter, writing 100 headlines a day, writing headlines for Russell Brunson which you can see in his book expert secrets, but ultimately started realizing that he hated what he did.

Eventually, he started having panic attacks & massive stress which completely destroyed his health. He was bedridden for months and couldn’t recover for over a year.

Here we discuss:

  • How he healed himself by doing what he loved again
  • The key to eliminate stress for good
  • Ethical marketing & truly adding value to people’s lives
  • How his values guide everything in his life and are more than just a nice-to-have personal development exercise, but something everybody needs to be crystal clear on and live by

Without further ado, let’s dive right into it!

#3: Optimize Performance By Quitting Alcohol & Sleeping Better w/ James Swanwick

#3: Optimize Performance By Quitting Alcohol & Sleeping Better w/ James Swanwick

As this is a podcast & community for high-performers, many of us are always trying to get an edge, whether that is through knowing more about new cutting-edge strategies, surrounding ourselves with the right people or optimizing our health.

While a lot of our members have quit drinking completely or at the very least drink very little, drinking alcohol has been the norm for the common folks out there.

Today’s guest is James Swanwick who argues that even just a little drink here or there can make the difference between being average to taking absolute control of your life. The reason why he makes that point is that he used to be overweight, drinking regularly, even if it’s just a drink here and there and on the weekend and his energy was simply drained.

He ended up quitting alcohol completely and went on to become an ESPN anchor on SportsCenter, building a million dollar business and being voted one of the top 25 networking experts in 2015 by Forbes.

Here we discuss:

  • Why drinking alcohol will slowly make you average
  • How to easily deal with peer pressure when you’re out with friends or at a party
  • How to optimize your sleep to perform better
  • How to deal with hair loss (something he struggled with for 20 years and finally dealt with!)

So without further ado, let’s dive right into it!

#2: How To Sell Your Business At Maximum Value w/ Coran Woodmass

#2: How To Sell Your Business At Maximum Value w/ Coran Woodmass

It’s been well over a year and a half ago now that the deal was agreed upon, the purchase agreement was signed and I had made the amount of cash I would’ve never even dreamed of making a couple of years before that.

The biggest payday for every entrepreneur is usually going to be the day they sell their business which is something I did with the help of today’s guest, Coran Woodmass.

Coran is also known as the FBA Broker, meaning he helps eCommerce business owners sell their business, while also helping investors & buyers buy a business, working as the third party that makes it a win ideally for everyone.

We’ve had a fair share of ups and downs in my process of selling my business due to unexpected complications along the way of transferring the business which ended up taking over 300 days. An experience that has really stretched my ability to deal with uncertainty, but was definitely worth going through considering how it changed my life… and my bank account.

In this episode, we also talk about:

  • How you can prepare your business for exit and sell for the maximum value
  • Common pitfalls sellers fall into that you should avoid at all costs
  • Also, how to end up on the buying side & make your first acquisition if you’re currently sitting on a nice pile of cash - and also what to avoid

My story - How Building a Million Dollar Business Made Me Lonely

My story - How Building a Million Dollar Business Made Me Lonely

This is a pretty uncomfortable episode to share so early on in my podcasting journey, but I believe it's a necessary step.

Here I talk about:

- How I got started and built my first 7-figure business

- Why achieving all my goals was not the answer

- The realizations I had that made me question everything I had done up until that point

- Why it gets lonelier and lonelier as you're moving up and how to fix it

- Why I decided to break up with my girl which terminated my Australian visa and forced me to leave the country for good

Feedback is highly appreciated.

How To Solve Any Problem And 10x Your Business By Asking Questions - The Fundamental Tool That Shapes Your Thoughts, Emotions, Reality & Actions

How To Solve Any Problem And 10x Your Business By Asking Questions - The Fundamental Tool That Shapes Your Thoughts, Emotions, Reality & Actions

What is free, available to everyone and has the power to change the world?

The ability to ask great questions.

Tony Robbins, Tim Ferriss, Patrick Grove and self-made billionaires like Jeff Hoffman or Ray Dalio all have one thing in common: They know how to ask incredibly powerful, specific questions which is a skill they have cultivated over many years.

But why are questions so powerful? What makes them the superpower of the achiever who wants to make things happen but currently doesn't know how?

It's because questions guide our subconscious mind and changes instantly what we focus on. And whatever we focus on, we will find more of.

With this episode, I'm hoping to get you to understand how incredibly crucial this skill is, not just for your business, but for every area in your life.

Here are some powerful questions to ask yourself, as discussed in this episode:

- What would I have to do to go 10x bigger?

- What would I do if I had no fear or limitation?

- What am I avoiding in my life?

- What is the most powerful question that I could ask?

- How am I being inauthentic?

- What can I be deeply grateful for?

- What would this look like if it were easy?

- If this fails, what will be the most likely causes of the failure?

- What if my core assumptions are wrong about this? What are they?

Resources & People mentioned:

- Mindvalley & its interview with Patrick Grove ("Journaling As A Tool To Become A Millionaire")

How To Work 14 Hour Days - The Truth About Productivity, Hustle & Maximizing Results

How To Work 14 Hour Days - The Truth About Productivity, Hustle & Maximizing Results

How dare you work only 3-4 hours a day and say you're working hard!

In all honesty, people that say they work 10 hours a day are usually full of s***.

We had this discussion in a recent mastermind call and it dawned on us that everyone is pretending to be busy while spending 3-4 hours daily doing important work is a huge output.

And the ones that actually spend more time doing productive work are the ones that do something that doesn't feel like work for them.

We touched on different topics like:

- Deep work

- 80/20 rule

- Parkinson's law

- event time vs. clock time

- mastery

- digital minimalism

- journaling

These were the resources mentioned:

- Deep Work by Cal Newport

- Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport

- The One Thing by Gary Keller, Jay Papasan & Geoff Woods

- Mastery by Robert Greene

- The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss

- Elon Musk, Gary Vaynerchuk, Richard Branson, Tony Robbins

What are your experiences?

Lack Of Connection And Community In Today's Society | Tribe: On Homecoming & Belonging

Lack Of Connection And Community In Today's Society | Tribe: On Homecoming & Belonging

War is good for mental health! Don't believe it?

Suicide rates DROP during wars and other disastrous times. Why?

Because people experience a much deeper connection and unity with each other. It reconnects us to our tribal habits of sticking together, supporting one another and being a community. It brings out the best in people, not just their worst. Their love, their courage, their selflessness, a purpose.

How can we create that unity without needing a disaster or war?

Playing A Bigger Game & Dominating The Competition - Stop Doing What's Easy And Do The Hard Things That Everyone Avoids

What's the different between struggling business owners and the ones that dominate everyone?

They simply play a bigger game.

The mindset they approach business with is completely different.

In this episode, Leon dives into how you can think like someone that is leading the market and let your competition fight for the small breadcrumbs while you get the biggest piece.

You can see this in people like Jeff Bezos from Amazon, Elon Musk and Steve Jobs.
